1981 Brixton Riot was no media rebranded uprising. It was a riot and one of the worst riots in British history, Certainly in the Metropolis.
alex came to my schl in year 7 and gave us a biography about him.

When did Late Breakfast become Brunch? Its just a rebranding by media types. I live in Brixton Hill during both Riots. There was an uprising from the youths mainly against the police but brixton was in flames both times and believe you and me they were riots.

This was a good program but not enough effort was given to background. The Police uniforms are badly fitted and the riot shields they are using were modern and not the ones available in the early 1980’s. Any BBC newsreel on UA-cam about the Brixton Riots will show this. It’s a small matter but lack of historical accuracy bugs the crap out of me. It makes the whole thing look like a lazy effort.
