- Iris Flower - Blacksmith-Forging DIY Project Demonstration Easy forged flower fabrication and weld
Hello all Chris here with Empty Pockets Ironworks. We've got spring on the mind and are hoping with warmer weather more shows will start popping up here and there since Covid-19 trashed last years market season.
This weeks video not only showcases our new Iris template design but allowed me to get a video out while not hurting myself further. About a week ago I sustained a neck injury and have been trying to heal up, which for me means staying idle and that is something I DO NOT LIKE TO DO! I get antsy easy and feel that I don't have enough time for anything, so an injury like this slowing me down is very detrimental.
Regardless I hope that you all enjoy the video, This template along with a whole bunch of other great ones are now available for download. We are offering bundle discounts and accept PayPal for a safe and secure purchasing option for the buyer.
Materials for this project are 14 gauge plate steel (sheet) and 5/16" Round rod stock. You will need of course a welder, cut off wheel and grinder (Snips) if you don't have access to plasma. If cutting material by hand I suggest 18-22 gauge The forge in this project is not necessary, Material can be cold formed/hammered or can be heated with a torch.
I hope everyone is doing well and enjoy this video. Please subscribe if you haven't, share if possible and smash that like button for me as it greatly helps the channel out!.

Thank you.
Nicely done Chris! Irises are one of my wife's favorite flowers so I'll be giving these a try in the near future. Praying your neck heals quickly and the pain is minimal. I get awfully antsy too when my body is telling me to stay out of the shop!
Thank you. It's been rough for the past few days felt good to get out there.

Sorry to hear your neck is still bothering you! Hopefully swinging a hammer to make this nicely done iris loosened it up some. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration.
