It seems to me that wounded people can become the most powerful teachers. Thanks for sharing your stories. Everyone of you have helped me in my recovery. 💯

Thank you Jack & Tara …as part of InsightLA along with my wife Izumi Tanaka we’ve had the joy & opportunity to sit & learn from you. My biggest joy has been serving as a volunteer❤. Trauma…the disruptions on our path that knocks us off course. Gabor is a gift..Thank all of you. The world needs more volunteers…I’m also on staff for The Mankind Project, Vets Journey Home & ….

I appreciate all these people and have been reading and following Jack for more than twenty years him being my first introduction to Buddhist thinking and practice.
His book A Path with Heart is such a comprehensive outlook on the spiritual path and the need to do necessary healing as he mentions here and not bypass uncomfortable stuff.
I think thanks to people like Jack and Tara and others they have provided us with a much more integrated approach to spirituality and healing.I have found Taras free yt talks as well to be invaluable.

I love you Gabor. One of the only real, decent human beings I have ever heard speak. I appreciate this conversation because of my own experience with psychedelics, meditation and spirituality. I lived in that bliss for months, until I crashed worse than ever, as when I returned to earth all of my trauma was still waiting! (I thought I had been "cured" lol. My "therapist" at the time would say "I don't want to hear your story" and then guide me back to a mindless sate of mediation. My daughter, (and an MDMA session) finally helped me to see that I AM my story, I AM Shane, and that is the goal, to connect to myself, to BE myself. I was further misled at the time by spiritual teachings such as those of Ram Dass (whom I still love) summed up by the title of his movie "Becoming nobody". I learned the hard way that "becoming nobody" is a denial of self because it's easier to be nobody than to be ME with all of my pain, trauma, and history, and spent more than one awful, terrible year attempting to "get rid of myself". But that is where it's really at, becoming yourself with ever increasing compassion and insight. That said, meditation and psychedelics are a MASSIVE help in processing my trauma and truly becoming my authentic self. Finally, I feel like I am at least on the right path. Gabor, thank you, you have truly been a voice in the wilderness, and I love you for being. (NOTE: Without the support and unconditional love of my daughter, I believe that I wouldn't have survived. Thank you sweetheart, you are truly an amazing human being ❤ ❤ ♥ ♥).
(It saddens me that I live in poverty, so am unable to access so much SAND content that I would love to see).

This is so interesting. I’ve been going back and forth between trying to live as nobody and healing me, somebody, for years. It’s so contradicting… there are so many voices out there who tell us different things and in the end we’re just confused…
So thank you for sharing ❤

"Veterans couldn't tell what they saw, but even worse - they couldn't say what they had to do, they didn't want to lay that on their families" 💔 I pray that after the war ends here in Ukraine we will be able to integrate all the pain our defenders had to go through, and find resilience as a society together.
Thank you for this deep conversation!

You might want to add a trigger warning regarding domestic violence as a screen warning at the very beginning of this video. It's interesting the duality of violence/trauma and spirituality in this video. Thanks for your consideration, if you are reviewing comments and accepting feedback! 🫶 🙏 💖

Anything can be triggering…smells, lighting etc. Cannot warn everyone about everything.

You have to face it. Trigger warnings don't allow you to face the trauma. It's like a tree asking a storm not to come. The storm will strengthen the root system and prune the unhealthy limbs.

My suggestion is to go within and be your own guru. We do have the right to be free and live the life we want. We do not have to be slaves to alien mind programs or our DNA which has us living the lives of our ancestors. But it’s free choice.
