  • Sebastian Inlet CLOSED to the Public - Snook Fishing
    Sebastian Inlet State Park has been closed for over a week due to hurricane Irma. We walked from a public access a ways up the road and were rewarded for our long walk with lots of Snook and a free ride home. As of today (9/18/17) the North side of the park has opened but the jetty is still closed.

    man! nice snooks! here in brazil we called that specie "peva" and we have another type of snook wich gets even bigger than "peva" and we call "flecha" (arrow) that specie growth like real monsters here.

      I've seen pictures. We don't have them here, but I've always called them black snook. That have a darker back, right?

      @@JoeyAntonelli the main difference is the shape of the head, the "arrow" one has an arrow shape of head while peva (yours) has a flattened head shape.

    Do you get a strike in the breaking wave or between them? They can be really hard to get to bite in between waves many times.

      Tend to do better in breaking waves.

    So I went last night and tried this.. got to the inlet about 6.. 2hr drive.. and the North side was open so I didn't have the long walk.. I easily nabbed some mullet from the lagoon.. the jacks were blowing up on them.. but when I went to the beach the tide was coming in with a hard North East wind and there was gobbs of seaweed so I couldn't keep my line in the water long enough.. I did catch a big 2x8.,. haha

      @JoeyAntonelli  7 років тому

      Travis White I use an Owner 5/0 multi light circle hook to 50lb florocarbon (3 feet). For weight I use a big pi ch weight, about .5oz to 1oz.

      Joey Antonelli thanks Joey you guys put in serious work out there. I'm a service member attached to Patrick AFB for the next 8 weeks and trying to lessen the learning curve. Appreciate it!
