  • This week's episode of Reel Time with Florida Sportsman takes place in the East Central region, on the hunt for oversized bull redfish. After reading Florida Sportsman forum member Final Point's last post, Capt. George Gozdz knew where the Reel Time Triton was heading next. With the mullet run happening up and down the east coast of Florida, big fish are flooding the inlets in search of an easy meal. Ryan Dean aka Final Point put Capt. George on the bull reds in the Sebastian Inlet and showed the host how it's done.

    I remember fishing this place when I was a kid and visited Florida from California. This place is a world class fishery, the redfish and snook are absolutely massive, not to hate but the fish they caught in this video are small ones compared the ones that were caught when I visited. I'm talking 30-40lbers. There are schools of tarpon that fed in the inlet and the snapper fishing is awesome, at least when I was there fishing off the pier. boaters were catching cubara snapper I believe off the boats right off the pier. I really want to go back and try this place out again..

    they had 30 pound spider wire braid but I recommend power pro braid and 40 lb fluro carbon leader with circle hooks. all you need right there. and maybe some weights but I don't use em. that's all you need too pull up monsters a lot bigger than what they were getting.

    TKTF- grabbing a fish between the gill plate and the gills will not kill a fish, between the gills- yes. Thanks for the input though:)

    • @zachwitkowski3432
      @zachwitkowski3432 9 років тому

      Almost every red or snook you catch there is usually overslot.

    • @NasalObstruction
      @NasalObstruction 9 років тому

      what does "overslot": mean?

    • @zachwitkowski3432
      @zachwitkowski3432 9 років тому

      snook have to be 28-33 inches to keep on west coast and 28-32 on east coast. reds have to be 18-27 inches to keep

    • @jordanrehn8196
      @jordanrehn8196 9 років тому

      Snook are easy to get slot, just gotta know the spots.
