Thanks for posting this. I lived in Davis during the 80's and aside from all of the shops being different, the mall looks exactly the way it did back then. UM was never bustling with people; it was always somewhat empty all of the time. Although I wasn't a big fan of the mall, I will definitely miss The Grad. The Grad should be considered a city landmark and should never have gone out of business.
I was a student 1988-1993. The Forever21 was a Safeway at that time, I think. Across the street was the Davis Chinese Christian Church. What brought you out to see this mall? Or, how did you hear about this mall?
Doesn't really look like this was much more than a strip mall with some interior hallways. I'm guessing it was originally a strip mall and they added some hallways.

There wasnt much to the mall when I graduated UC Davis 1990. The Grad was the place to be in the 80s.
