Jordan Love will get paid. It won't be news, even though the ESPN/Fox shouters will grind it up all season. The biggest issue over the QB pay today is how little so many other players on the team make in comparison to the QB. Screw the cap and the bogus hits some deals are fantasized about, that discussion is strictly cover and distraction. On a typical team 7 to 10 guys earn $10 million or more each season while another 10 players earn between $2 to $10 million. On a 69 man roster (including the taxi squad) this equates to around 30 percent of NFL players earning multiple million dollar deals. 10% of the players earn big bucks, and 2 percent (QBs always with a few generational position players) get transcendent wealth. 70% of players earn less than million dollars a year doing jobs that on average now last around 3 years with inherent health risks. Seems like the players, NFLPA and owners should definitely try to work some new pay parameters going forward to lessen the giant chasm between the very few at the top and the vast majority earning squat in comparison while making up the bulk of the rosters for the NFL teams. Thanks for the takes.

100 percent agree. I understand why the teams want to fork it over for top QB and WR talent, but the glue guys need a bigger slice of pie. And I don't think that they are paid so little because they aren't very good, I think the teams are FORCED to pay so little because the goddamn QB, WR and DEs cost entirely too much.
Chris has mentioned before that he'd like to see the QB market be completely separate from the rest of the team. Allow teams to have a separate salary cap for their QBs and maybe receivers too. On most good teams, those two positions eat up nearly HALF of the available funds. It's one of the reasons why some teams struggle near the end of the season, because injuries are ever present (and will get worse when the schedule gets extended to 18 games) and most teams just can't afford to have any real talent as you go down the depth chart.

As a packers fan I'm not worried about love whatsoever. Perfectly understand he wants to hedge his bets and not risk a freak injure when they are in the redzone on the deal. Full confidence they are just nitpicking over contract verbiage at this point and I am fully confident that Love will reach even greater heights, skill wise, in the coming years.

So to the point of holding in and why im all for it we had a guy leave his helmet on the ground at practice while he was getting some water on the sideline and a WR got tackled right in that area landed on it separated his shoulder so badly he didn't play again stupid shit happens at practice get your money first the packers front office loves to fuck around and find out with its players and always end up having to pay them more and until they learn their lesson and start paying these guys earlier fuck em it's business

Hardly a NFL fan boy; dislikes alot of what the NFL is doing and trying to do. Has pro's and cons regarding players and teams...
These are opinions; if you don't agree you don't have to watch...
