In real life I wouldn't "Casually" pick up things one at a time. I'd scoop shit into bags, get armfuls, or hell if Im picking up shells just use the fucking areas between my fingers.
I actually like this trailer, not cause of how realistic the game looks and is (especially when he fired that shotgun at someone from a distance, making use of the realistic range), but also because how human the player is, usually in gameplay trailers you see very clean, scripted things happening, but here, you see him try to see if he can slip past that car, see if he can enter the door in that tower, accidentally drop that AK mag, all stuff beginning players very well might do
The only two things I'm worried about with this game is A. The probability of it ending up getting a huge downgrade in the graphics and maybe even the gameplay department, and B. The fact that most the text seems to be in Russian, I really do not want to have to learn Russian to play this game

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series was generally well accepted as a slow paced movement, think it through, plan your moves type of a game (seems similar to this game). As well as using cover of the natural, and man made variety, you have to utilize flanking, suppressive fire, and all out brute force to make it through confrontations, all the while scavenging, relying on limited ammunition, dynamic lighting for interiors and flashlights making sense, and also, what looks to be a mechanic for thirst and hunger? I don't see why anyone would be upset by this trailer!? It looks to be a really immersive game that would deliver hours upon hours of play, and with online mulitplayer it would bring a whole world to life with firefights for territory and the like delivering an experience that looks far more accessible to idiots like me, than Arma3 could ever deliver.
Ikr, a lot of games are going towards a fast paced gameplay, which gives away the stealth factor in most cases. This game has everything a hardcore FPS player would want.
This looks like the sort of game that if you are walking around you are going to be shot by someone that has been sitting in the same bush for the last 3 hours

@@totallyjon old tarkov wasnt better, but it did have a style to it which made it look much better in some places. now that theyve steered more towards realism, which is near impossible to perfect, its not nearly as unique looking. its kinda bland now but its still great
really great sound design. i like how the suppressor behaves realistically i.e doesnt reduce the gunshot to an impotent 'phut' and the sound of equipments on the player's back when moving.
-lvl 1. Call of Duty: you just hold the trigger while you and the enemy are moving, and still gonna hit your target, even if its behind a wall. -lvl 2. Battlefield: You have to shoot at hip-fire and watch for the bullet drop and speed...also try to not move for better aim. -lvl 3. Escape from Tarkov: Stick the barrel of your pistol into the enemy's head and shoot. You will fail the shot.
The only thing I dislike is how it tells you exactly how many rounds you have in your magazine in inventory view instantly. Kind of makes the awesome check ammo feature a little redundant if you can just quickly open and close it and get and exact count rather than the fun mystery of not knowing how many rounds are left. Really hope that gets removed or at least made harder to find out, e.g. having to do a function similar to the searching of inventories and having it take time to get an exact amount.
Well most of the mags I've seen in the game have small windows in them, whether it be small holes or a slot down the side, but they do offer the ability to assess how much ammo is in the mag. They are also trying to find that balance between fun and realism. Requiring you to take a magazine out to check is still more than other games offer. Most have this info live at all times so this is still dangerous to perform during a firefight, and God knows how much I want to spend my time emptying and reloading my magazine all the time in a fricken game. Such a waste of time

Many magazine have holes (windows) in the side of the magazine with a number next to it. Guess what that number is associated to. The number of rounds remaining. If you see brass in one of these holes that means there is a round there. If it's black there are no rounds there. You think it's so crazy insane that after a hundred years of manufacturing magazines not a single person came up with a solution to this? A problem that could very well put a soldiers life in the balance. Don't be a pompous shit when you don't even know what you're talking about

Gangflu is right, the majority of magazines don't have windows in them, especially for AK or ARs, they weren't showing pmags with windows, but standand 545 mags for the AK and stanag for the AR, and even SIG's mags dont' all have holes in them, which are hard to tell how many rounds is left just looking down the top, maybe you can make out about 3 rounds, beyond which it's anyone's guess. Red Orchestra used to do a system where it tells you how heavy each magazine "feels" instead of giving you a precise number, in an RPG game, perhaps that could scale with experience, the more you play, the more precise you can tell the weight. If they were to introduce a system where only magazines that has window in them tells you how many rounds is left, then that's amazing, it would mean even something as mundane as magazines would have different values and models with functionality difference. I'm not saying the game needs to be 100% realistic, I'm just saying what he said isn't wrong, so calling him a pompous shit is probably not a good idea.

Звуки падающих гильз об пол бесподобны. Изменения звука в закрытых/открытых помещениях шикарны. Единственное нарекание по поводу "обнаружения" лута - уж очень "точно" надо навести прицел, как будто в "поиск предметов" играешь, и ищешь тот самый драгоценный пиксель, с которым можно взаимодействовать. Это трудно сделать. Я про баланс. Так всё скорострельное оружие будет имбой - знай себе поливай вражин, и авось какая пулька-то попадёт. =) Тогда надо б было "ухудшать" пользование оружием (чтобы нивелировать преимущества) - слонячья отдача, большой разброс, отсутствие проклика. Тогда играть будет "неудобно", хоть и реалистично до мозга костей. (и, в общем-то и неплохо). А игрокам нужны удобства, ибо "довольный геймер - богатый девелопер". =)

The last shooter i played, was CS1.6. Then a little bit Arma3, 2-3 months. But THIS game. I heared a lot of them. Never noticed it really. Bought it two days ago. Well... it's a hell of game! I am bad as hell, no skill anymore, no aim, no reaction. But its well made, the sound is great, the weapon handling is awesome and the concept is interesting. Well done, my respect to you.

Where Rushing will get you heard, being heard will kill you, and it's 40% luck to survive anyways Rushing, even with a terrible internet connection. is not a fool-proof plan, it depends on so much and "Peakers Advantage" isn't garunteed to even help you, client side is faster, but your hitbox is serverwise. doesn't matter beyond that. depending on what room your in or what the guy is watching for, it can go either way. Ambushes are still popular in tarkov, Bullet sponges don't work unless you're shooting 9pm at Class 3 armour. Leg Meta is difficulty for pro-players and all those clips you see of someone aiming for legs is not a garunteed thing, More and more people are keeping calm even in 1 VS 2 or 1VS 3. So in general, If you find complete newbies, Yeah. Anything will work. Otherwise, Every other map is going larger and harder. Rushing doesn't matter on those maps. (which is 6/8 now)

1) Sharpen up the graphics a bit. 2) Make the animations a bit less clunky. 3) Make the animations (especially when grabbing) a little less repetitive. 4) Get rid of ammo check in inventory. 5) Stop the continuos repetitive sway of the foliage. 6) Fix the clipping/flashing of certain walls/floors. 7) Not sure if there was one or not, but make sure there is a melee mechanic. Otherwise, all looks great so far (especially those gunshot noises, they are perfect).

shit game design has nothing to do with with the nationality of the developers, senior strawman. the grab animation is too slow for a game where half the time is spent scavenging. there should at least be an option to disable it.
Instead of picking ammo up one by one they should just have an animation for picking up large amounts of ammo in one grab. Like him swiping his arm & pushing all the ammo into his bag or something :)
The game is an alpha dude, give it some time. If enough people complain about it then they'll patch it. But don't misunderstand, I completely agree. It's obnoxious as hell, it takes too long to grab shit.
dude no, im american and i would play the fuck out of this game, then again im a fan of realism and not ZERO TO 100 CALL OF DUTY JETPACK SPACE ROBOT shit that everyone has become accustomed to, every 14 year old is so overstimulated by first person shooters that have come out in the last 10 years to have fun with anything that is tense and haves you actually slow down for a second.
While it can be frustrating as a player. I mean in real life you can't just tap A and grab like 12 random bullets off a table and put them into pouches within 1s. The game design is that looting is a risk, it takes time and you can be exposed to a gank if you're not wary or if you get greedy and take too much time getting loot.
I honestly can´t believe it. Usually when you see more footage of a gem in this stage (alpha) you see things that you don´t like, and that will be in the final game, but not with this game. I get more excited every time i see more of the game.

Birdshots go farther than you think. at least i did when i first shot one. Its far off trying to compare it to real life but when your game is trying to be 'realistic' per se, maybe i should. Have you ever been to a real range? I haven't shot them no less than 20 meters but you know their grouping of the pellets is close enough to fuck someone up in at least 40, 50.
I'd like to see a proper STALKER multiplayer. Not some silly DayZ clone with the STALKER name, or feel. STALKER is a much different game and it should reflect that. DayZ doesn't have factions outside of "reputation", and most people just open fire the second they see someone else. STALKER has factions, even for loners, and attacking other players on sight should be a quick way to ruin the reputation of your character, kicking him out of camps or even forcing you to become a bandit and live like shit. unlike DayZ where EVERYTHING is scavenged and letting another player go actually hurts your chances of survival, even if you're both "friendly", STALKER relies on more trade to gain new equipment, buy food, meds, everything, so killing someone over even something as important as an artifact could have huge ramifications if the local camps find out. You kill too many Loners, for example, and Free Stalker camps may stop trading with you, or letting you use their doctor. Eventually they won't even let you in anymore, or may even issue a bounty for you (and if AI guards are used, you'll be shot on sight), meaning that you can no longer use that faction to acquire the essentials of survival, or potentially more importantly, as a shelter from emissions. Bandits would be able to attack anyone, but they also live entirely on what they can scavenge, putting them at odds with other bandits on top of everyone else, and leaving them with subpar equipment, since they can't really get anything good in large enough amounts to repair any suits of armor they can loot from other stalkers. Duty and Freedom would be at war with each other, so they obviously would be fighting each other, but attacking fellow members of those factions would royally screw you over. Loners would really only have to be afraid of bandits, because both Duty and Freedom view attacking them as against their ideals. Honestly, the simple fact of how faction relations are already established and how pvp would have pretty serious downsides would lead to a STALKER co-op probably being both easier to make and sell.
Definitely looks like more of a survival game in this video, now its just money farming and people jumping and sprinting around with Meta M4 and AK builds

Cant believe after over a year from seeing this video for the first time, im watching it again going into Open Beta for EFT and its amazing how much of the game stayed the same and how much changed as well, all for the better. 2018 is gonna be great for EFT players.
What developers expected from players: 3:33 Every PMC is working as a team against scavs and opposite force (USEC vs BEAR) That is unfortunate that 98% of Tarkov game is a counter-strike deathmatch

Has anyone else noticed how good the lighting and shading and shadows are? Really promising stuff here. Also, as mentioned, the sound design is superb. STALKER returns... I like where this is headed.

@@bxlxrteeworlds8782 You're clueless. For the most part Tarkov ran better in alpha and the first closed beta patch. Only shoreline suffered from performance issues but it got improved later. In 2018 the game got visually downgraded (terrible foggy flashlights, removal of inverse kinematics, washed out world lighting). The only visual and performance improvement Tarkov has had since alpha was the new grass and scopes. Overall the frame rate is worse, the ram usage is off the charts (believe it or not the game did not stutter in 2017), and the graphics are hot garbage.
My take in what I've seen so far from this game; Looks good to be a survival shooter from a relatively small developer but not nearly as good as the first trailer(s) I saw of the game. I am talking about graphics btw. The sound is very good! The weapon sounds are very realistic with the way sound travel over distance! Though I am missing more sound to the interactions between the player and the environment. Running is too silent, picking up stuff doesn't sounds quite as crunchy as it should. Though overall the game is pretty to look at and sounds more than good enough, with gunshots and explosions sounding absolutely awesome. The environments could use some more polish though, as an environmental design artist myself I am longing for a bit more variety and uniqueness in the environments. Kind of like how Fallout 4 managed to make a post apocalyptic wasteland look realistic and alive without sacrificing that apocalyptic feel. The areas used by humans in the past for example should be filled with more static objects to make it actually look like somebody lived there in the past. Tree's could use a bit more variety, especially in the number of species we saw. Pines, pines and pines are boring. I get that its Russia, but as someone from Norway I know what subarctic biomes look like and its not just pines! Mostly pines yes but not exclusively. Also missing variety in the sizes of these pines, also needs more random spacing between the trees, it looks to un-natural having them spread out almost equally from each other. Bushes... bushes are severely lacking. As for the weapon handling, its mostly good but there are some issues I see. First of all is recoil, especially from the Makarov pistol in the beginning. It jump weirdly around and does have as much of a muzzle rise as it would in reality. Apart from that the iron sights look small and nice, just like in real life. Very happy that they got the AK iron sights right as they are often done totally wrong in most games. Looks fucking delicious :P Weapon animations like the reloading etc. looks very good and the weapon customization I've seen looks logical and realistic, as well as fun and deep! Inventory system looks usable and not too bad but not as good as I'd want it to be. It follows the standard mmo shooter formula and seems to share most of its drawbacks as well. The way the character runs in first person isn't the best, it looks a bit too much like he is floating instead of running with a gun in his hands and 30kg of equipment in his backpack. Doesn't sound good also. The speed seems fine though.

У меня складывается ощущение что данная локация, по размерам, едва превосходит Пустошку из DayZ, далеко не самый крупный город. Вот только точек лута и мест для встречи тут по пальцам одной-двух рук можно пересчитать. Что будет если загнать сюда хотя бы 20 человек, страшно представить.

Too much realism spoils the fun, just like the whole 'pick up one shell at the time for the rest of your life' thing.
They should maybe make it faster to pick up stuff like bullets and shells since they come in a bunch, as opposed to picking up a magazine.

The only thing I dislike is how it tells you exactly how many rounds you have in your magazine in inventory view instantly. Kind of makes the awesome check ammo feature a little redundant if you can just quickly open and close it and get and exact count rather than the fun mystery of not knowing how many rounds are left.
Really hope that gets removed or at least made harder to find out, e.g. having to do a function similar to the searching of inventories and having it take time to get an exact amount.

Well most of the mags I've seen in the game have small windows in them, whether it be small holes or a slot down the side, but they do offer the ability to assess how much ammo is in the mag.
They are also trying to find that balance between fun and realism. Requiring you to take a magazine out to check is still more than other games offer. Most have this info live at all times so this is still dangerous to perform during a firefight, and God knows how much I want to spend my time emptying and reloading my magazine all the time in a fricken game. Such a waste of time

Many magazine have holes (windows) in the side of the magazine with a number next to it. Guess what that number is associated to. The number of rounds remaining. If you see brass in one of these holes that means there is a round there. If it's black there are no rounds there. You think it's so crazy insane that after a hundred years of manufacturing magazines not a single person came up with a solution to this? A problem that could very well put a soldiers life in the balance. Don't be a pompous shit when you don't even know what you're talking about
Nope... Gangflu is right, the majority of magazines don't have windows in them, especially for AK or ARs, they weren't showing pmags with windows, but standand 545 mags for the AK and stanag for the AR, and even SIG's mags dont' all have holes in them, which are hard to tell how many rounds is left just looking down the top, maybe you can make out about 3 rounds, beyond which it's anyone's guess. Red Orchestra used to do a system where it tells you how heavy each magazine "feels" instead of giving you a precise number, in an RPG game, perhaps that could scale with experience, the more you play, the more precise you can tell the weight.
If they were to introduce a system where only magazines that has window in them tells you how many rounds is left, then that's amazing, it would mean even something as mundane as magazines would have different values and models with functionality difference.
I'm not saying the game needs to be 100% realistic, I'm just saying what he said isn't wrong, so calling him a pompous shit is probably not a good idea.

Атмосфера сильная. Звуки падающих гильз об пол бесподобны. Изменения звука в закрытых/открытых помещениях шикарны.
Единственное нарекание по поводу "обнаружения" лута - уж очень "точно" надо навести прицел, как будто в "поиск предметов" играешь, и ищешь тот самый драгоценный пиксель, с которым можно взаимодействовать.

Тогда надо б было "ухудшать" пользование оружием (чтобы нивелировать преимущества) - слонячья отдача, большой разброс, отсутствие проклика. Тогда играть будет "неудобно", хоть и реалистично до мозга костей. (и, в общем-то и неплохо).
А игрокам нужны удобства, ибо "довольный геймер - богатый девелопер". =)

But THIS game. I heared a lot of them. Never noticed it really. Bought it two days ago. Well... it's a hell of game! I am bad as hell, no skill anymore, no aim, no reaction. But its well made, the sound is great, the weapon handling is awesome and the concept is interesting.

Rushing, even with a terrible internet connection. is not a fool-proof plan, it depends on so much and "Peakers Advantage" isn't garunteed to even help you, client side is faster, but your hitbox is serverwise. doesn't matter beyond that. depending on what room your in or what the guy is watching for, it can go either way. Ambushes are still popular in tarkov, Bullet sponges don't work unless you're shooting 9pm at Class 3 armour.
Leg Meta is difficulty for pro-players and all those clips you see of someone aiming for legs is not a garunteed thing, More and more people are keeping calm even in 1 VS 2 or 1VS 3.
So in general, If you find complete newbies, Yeah. Anything will work. Otherwise, Every other map is going larger and harder. Rushing doesn't matter on those maps. (which is 6/8 now)

1) Sharpen up the graphics a bit.
2) Make the animations a bit less clunky.
3) Make the animations (especially when grabbing) a little less repetitive.
4) Get rid of ammo check in inventory.
5) Stop the continuos repetitive sway of the foliage.
6) Fix the clipping/flashing of certain walls/floors.
7) Not sure if there was one or not, but make sure there is a melee mechanic.
Otherwise, all looks great so far (especially those gunshot noises, they are perfect).

everyone is literally crying over a game that looks insane, this game has weapon customization, beautiful graphics and it doesent even look remotely clunky, yet people are complaining about the clunk sound u make when ur moving ur "fully decked out character" and how they need to remove the arm animation that comes when u grab an item, like for real? shit game design has nothing to do with with the nationality of the developers, senior strawman. the grab animation is too slow for a game where half the time is spent scavenging. there should at least be an option to disable it.
Instead of picking ammo up one by one they should just have an animation for picking up large amounts of ammo in one grab. Like him swiping his arm & pushing all the ammo into his bag or something :)
The game is an alpha dude, give it some time. If enough people complain about it then they'll patch it. But don't misunderstand, I completely agree. It's obnoxious as hell, it takes too long to grab shit.
dude no, im american and i would play the fuck out of this game, then again im a fan of realism and not ZERO TO 100 CALL OF DUTY JETPACK SPACE ROBOT shit that everyone has become accustomed to, every 14 year old is so overstimulated by first person shooters that have come out in the last 10 years to have fun with anything that is tense and haves you actually slow down for a second.
While it can be frustrating as a player. I mean in real life you can't just tap A and grab like 12 random bullets off a table and put them into pouches within 1s. The game design is that looting is a risk, it takes time and you can be exposed to a gank if you're not wary or if you get greedy and take too much time getting loot.
I honestly can´t believe it. Usually when you see more footage of a gem in this stage (alpha) you see things that you don´t like, and that will be in the final game, but not with this game. I get more excited every time i see more of the game.

I haven't shot them no less than 20 meters but you know their grouping of the pellets is close enough to fuck someone up in at least 40, 50.

I'd like to see a proper STALKER multiplayer. Not some silly DayZ clone with the STALKER name, or feel. STALKER is a much different game and it should reflect that. DayZ doesn't have factions outside of "reputation", and most people just open fire the second they see someone else. STALKER has factions, even for loners, and attacking other players on sight should be a quick way to ruin the reputation of your character, kicking him out of camps or even forcing you to become a bandit and live like shit. unlike DayZ where EVERYTHING is scavenged and letting another player go actually hurts your chances of survival, even if you're both "friendly", STALKER relies on more trade to gain new equipment, buy food, meds, everything, so killing someone over even something as important as an artifact could have huge ramifications if the local camps find out. You kill too many Loners, for example, and Free Stalker camps may stop trading with you, or letting you use their doctor. Eventually they won't even let you in anymore, or may even issue a bounty for you (and if AI guards are used, you'll be shot on sight), meaning that you can no longer use that faction to acquire the essentials of survival, or potentially more importantly, as a shelter from emissions. Bandits would be able to attack anyone, but they also live entirely on what they can scavenge, putting them at odds with other bandits on top of everyone else, and leaving them with subpar equipment, since they can't really get anything good in large enough amounts to repair any suits of armor they can loot from other stalkers. Duty and Freedom would be at war with each other, so they obviously would be fighting each other, but attacking fellow members of those factions would royally screw you over. Loners would really only have to be afraid of bandits, because both Duty and Freedom view attacking them as against their ideals. Honestly, the simple fact of how faction relations are already established and how pvp would have pretty serious downsides would lead to a STALKER co-op probably being both easier to make and sell.

There's always going to be a meta when you have hundreds of attachments with different stats.

You're clueless. For the most part Tarkov ran better in alpha and the first closed beta patch. Only shoreline suffered from performance issues but it got improved later. In 2018 the game got visually downgraded (terrible foggy flashlights, removal of inverse kinematics, washed out world lighting). The only visual and performance improvement Tarkov has had since alpha was the new grass and scopes. Overall the frame rate is worse, the ram usage is off the charts (believe it or not the game did not stutter in 2017), and the graphics are hot garbage.

My take in what I've seen so far from this game;
Looks good to be a survival shooter from a relatively small developer but not nearly as good as the first trailer(s) I saw of the game. I am talking about graphics btw. The sound is very good! The weapon sounds are very realistic with the way sound travel over distance! Though I am missing more sound to the interactions between the player and the environment. Running is too silent, picking up stuff doesn't sounds quite as crunchy as it should. Though overall the game is pretty to look at and sounds more than good enough, with gunshots and explosions sounding absolutely awesome.
The environments could use some more polish though, as an environmental design artist myself I am longing for a bit more variety and uniqueness in the environments. Kind of like how Fallout 4 managed to make a post apocalyptic wasteland look realistic and alive without sacrificing that apocalyptic feel. The areas used by humans in the past for example should be filled with more static objects to make it actually look like somebody lived there in the past.
Tree's could use a bit more variety, especially in the number of species we saw. Pines, pines and pines are boring. I get that its Russia, but as someone from Norway I know what subarctic biomes look like and its not just pines! Mostly pines yes but not exclusively. Also missing variety in the sizes of these pines, also needs more random spacing between the trees, it looks to un-natural having them spread out almost equally from each other. Bushes... bushes are severely lacking.
As for the weapon handling, its mostly good but there are some issues I see. First of all is recoil, especially from the Makarov pistol in the beginning. It jump weirdly around and does have as much of a muzzle rise as it would in reality. Apart from that the iron sights look small and nice, just like in real life. Very happy that they got the AK iron sights right as they are often done totally wrong in most games. Looks fucking delicious :P
Weapon animations like the reloading etc. looks very good and the weapon customization I've seen looks logical and realistic, as well as fun and deep!
Inventory system looks usable and not too bad but not as good as I'd want it to be. It follows the standard mmo shooter formula and seems to share most of its drawbacks as well.
The way the character runs in first person isn't the best, it looks a bit too much like he is floating instead of running with a gun in his hands and 30kg of equipment in his backpack. Doesn't sound good also. The speed seems fine though.

+lordkhan but it nowadays not about the look, you can buy skyboxes, shaders and rt lightning from AAA Dev's for cheap, not mentioning the almost free Game Engines, if the mechanic works and people enjoy the gameplay, this might be the survival we were looking for, although i dont wanna hate this game yet cause I really enjoyed Stalker back then, I hope the best

показывают 1 мааааленькую локацию, и одни и те же её части, лут точно такой же и в тех же местах, что и на стриме (не весь лут, а ак и пбс, возможно м-ка) что как бы настораживает, откровенно говоря, настраивает очень скептически. Когда говорится о множестве огромных локаций, мы видим 1, которую пробежать за 3-4 минуты без нпц и игроков можно, мягко говоря, этого мало

Это сюжетка и лут будет наверно в одном месте. Вот когда пройдёшь сюжет то сможешь на всю карту перемещатся в онлайн режиме и там будет и рандомный лут и много игроков и диких
У меня складывается ощущение что данная локация, по размерам, едва превосходит Пустошку из DayZ, далеко не самый крупный город. Вот только точек лута и мест для встречи тут по пальцам одной-двух рук можно пересчитать. Что будет если загнать сюда хотя бы 20 человек, страшно представить.
