      Yeah.... and the one you traded, plays one of his best seasons ever. Actually, IMO, he should even be in the MVP discussions, if he continues (read: stays healthy) to play like this the whole season. I'm a Wolves fan, but been watching Knicks for few seasons (because of the Brunson story) and man... this season's been really entertaining to watch, KAT fitted like a glove into that team.
      Meanwhile the season Wolves are having now, after the stellar previous season, is just painful and sad to watch. Not gonna stop for rooting my favourite team, but man what a f-ing mistake, no matter what the cost would've been. Literally from a contender team back to a "not sure we're in the playoffs this year" team... 😵‍💫

      @nachoviking that's why I don't get why people complain when players don't stick to their first team. If you stay there for years and they do nothing for you, then you owe them nothing. You do your part and are one of the best in the league or even the best but they fail theirs. That's why you can't judge players based on if they stayed with their teams forever because only 2 players in history deserve credit for that and it's dirk and duncan

    Can we just acknowledge, that the new salary cap failed its purpose? Remember: it was supposed to enable small market teams to compete with the big guys. Now the Timberwolves break up their promising core after 1 good season, because they can't afford to pay the 2nd level luxury tax. So they traded KAT for a shorter contract. Meanwhile, the Knicks just said "fuck it, we can afford to pay that luxury tax for multiple seasons"... Well done.
    And yes, the luxury tax is the only reason, why the Wolves made that trade.

He refuses to shoot a midrange jumper and and cant figure out when to pass the ball. Plus, he's got the Embiid disease. He's dumpy. @@jasonmccallop6605 Dirk's career high 3pt attempts per game for a season is 4.9. He just cannot compete against *elite* modern day shooters stats-wise. And if you *watch* basketball, you'd realize Towns shots threes of a higher degree of difficulty, and more versatility (stepbacks, pull ups, etc.). Not to mention that he beats Dirk in efficiency AND volume. It's not even a discussion.
      This goes with a lot of older shooters. They're great. They were pioneers. Put them in today's game and their shot profiles would potentially be different, however they did not play in today's game, so they don't compare in a lot of cases statistically. That doesn't mean the respect ain't there. But also means people gotta stop being stuck in the past.

    This is par for the course for the Timberwolves, going back to their first years with the acquisition of "Trader Jack" McCloskey. All GMs and operations guys in this organization (and really, all Minnesota sports franchises) fit the British phrase "too clever by half."
    That means that in thinking they're smarter than the average bear, they make the stupidest trades and moves while thinking they're these incredible brain wizards. The Wolves' leadership has been outwitting themselves for four decades. No wonder other teams' GMs happily take a call from the Timberwolves. They know they're going to get a great player or great piece without having to give up anything of worth to get it.
    Add to that, the owner is about 180 years old and made his money in envelopes. Envelopes! This team is a toy to him. Glen Taylor literally sits ten feet away from the team during games, with his trophy wife by his side.
    They're a laughingstock. They always will be. Just an absolute joke of a basketball team.

    Literally my teams problem. They never should have traded Kat. He was a key player. I thought the players looked up to him as a leader. He took the backseat so Ant could excel and when Kat was in the game he def helped them alot. Everytime we get a star player like Him or Garnett it always ends bad with them either getting traded or they request to be traded. The past 3 years or so we got higher up the ladder. And I really thought we would have made the championships this year. Then they traded Kat and I knew it was all over. You can't expect just one star player to change everything instantly. Even with sports being "scripted" to a point. Even when refs do their job terribly. You can still see a good team with alot of talent overcome hardships like that. And minnesota doesn't understand needing to build or take a couple seasons to build your players up. I'm still going to be rooting for my wolves but I knew the success that we had last year wasn't going to last (I'd like them to turn around and have faith but being a fan since Garnett and watching this thing happen alot. Go figured it would have happened again)

Their defense is still really good. I like the additions of Julius Randle and Donte. Julius Randle is a much better threat in the paint and can create more opportunities for the offense. Kat going to the rim resulted in way to many offensive fouls because he just didn't have that finese. Randle is much quicker on the court and more effective i feel and is consistently getting 20+ points this season. He can't shoot the 3 like Kat does, but i think he makes up for that with his other play.

    There is no cutting or ball movement. Ant really struggles to make plays for other people, he has only had double digit assists 6 times his whole career. • @EdGwhaddafook
    @EdGwhaddafook 19 днів тому

    KAT is best as a 4 as he is not a rim protector, which is why Minny got Gobert. Both players are great at one end of the floor but not the other. Randle needs the ball but is not an elite player. He is very good but to maximize his value you need to run the offense through him and he is no great shakes on defense. In many ways he is a stat compiler,
    Minny just could not handle three max players under the pending CBA. Gobert should not be a max contract given he is utterly useless on offense. He has bad hands and takes up space, clogging the lanes along with Randle.
