I am a photographer and I did their 1985 Tour Poster. He purchased the one time use right to two of my photos of them in concert for use on his Tour Poster. I didn't meet John but I did meet his best friend and lead guitarist Mike Wancheck. He was the nicest guy ever. I had met his dad and he invited me down to Nicholasville to meet his son Mike on Thanksgiving. Mikes dad told me that they worked 8 to 10 hrs a day getting ready for the tour. I lived in Lexington and i was shooting a lot of the concerts in Lexington Ky. at Rupp Arena. The next year my agent in New York bought the one time use rights to two of my Prince photos for resale to US News. The 1960s, 70s and 1980s were great times. I doubt there will ever be anything like those days again in history. Those of you who are too young to have lived in those days really missed it and you may never know what it was like in those days. I hope you do have some times like we did in those days but the world isn looking too good right now.
Thanks for sharing this video. I feel I know John M. better now. Mr. Happy Go Lucky caught my attention and I'm still amazed at the rhythms , beat and the words. Thanks John, But I can't go to your concert, 'cause I stay away from big crowds. Cheers, Don
Love you John I was a teenager when American Fool was released and that album, dare I say, defined me in all the ways back then and in many respects to this very day embody who I am. But I don't think I'm alone . You've been a Mile Marker artist for millions of fans the world over. If anyone asks tell 'em Route 66.
Always loved his music. With every interview i watch i realize he's a prime example of that very dominant, masculine man......just unapologetically himself! Admittedly the kind of man who can be most difficult to be with, but the type I'm most attracted to.
Who cares what people think? The man is talented as hell, great singer, songwriter, musician and humanitarian. He made it to the top of the music business so doubters and haters can kiss his multi winning, chart topping, millionaire ass.
I have always loved y our music John, I got to see you in concert in Minn. years ago. Loved it, just wished I got closer to the stage. :-) Thank you for all you do..
My Dad took me to my first concert at age 12 to see John and his Mr. Happy go lucky tour in Cincinnati. And while I’ve never been much of a fan of Mellencamp, my Dad sure loves him! Also, I went to school with John’s nephew who lives in Cincinnati and who also had the same name.
That was interesting to watch, he sure is a mr happy go lucky guy who worked hard to be where he's at today. Respect n admire that, also a caring loving father.
always been a fan but as he's aged he's sexier and such a good looking man...the hair! nice. He's so smart, savvy...he knew what he wanted with his music and he did it!
Ask him why he's the luckiest man ever, he was a new born with spinal bifida, surgeons at INDPLS RILEY CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL DID ONE OF THE FIRST SURGERIES TO REMOVE A GROWTH THE SIZE OF A TENNIS BALL, AND SURVIVED THE FIRST ONE , I'D SAY HE'S THE LUCKIEST, LIFES BEEN GOOD
Too bad other "Entertainers" aren't as motivated by We The People as Mr. Mellencamp. Today Famers are being out out of Business for the upcoming food shortages. I sold his 1983 BMW 533i and have seen him LIVE 3 times, Outstanding lyrics please research him.
Love his talent/music.....But he is a very wealthy democrat that is clueless.....Oh yea, research what he made doing Farm Aid ......millions. Wake up people.
I wish I could meet him. He’s honest, raw and has a big heart! One of my all time favorite people! His music is a big part of my life.

Should?? Based on your assumption only
Back when VH1 was cool. This was a very good show along with MTVs unplugged. Hard to imagine anything like this happening again.

Not everyone hated John Cougar. I liked John Cougar Mellencamp even more. It had a nice ring to it.

Great Artist

So did he never do a vid for 'The Full Catastrophe?'
Yeah that's a crime
13:10 - Elaine Irwin. Yes.
He's great. About his new attitude towards his kids: "I talk to them, hang out with them." LOL
He really misses Larry Crane......
Please don't forget Michelle. He mentioned all his children except Michelle.❤

Make a dog happy fix a cat donate to a local not for profit animal rescue near you.
Great musician. I just don't get why he denounces his fame & money. Bein rich ain't nothin to be ashamed of, if anybody earned it he did
Springsteen can't pull off the normal working man like Mellencamp. I know he tries to copy Mellencamp, but it ain't working.
Yeah! You said it! I pay to see you perform music! Leave your political BS out of my price of admission ....
U GOT THAT RIGHT!!
Oh shut up
You pay for his tickets you may hear his politics. Small price to pay for his brilliance.
Love his talent/music.....But he is a very wealthy democrat that is clueless.....Oh yea, research what he made doing Farm Aid ......millions. Wake up people.
President Biden i think I need a pardon..
John is talented sure but he's convinced he's bigger than the game-he ain't
Hard to agree if you listen to his old Authority Song from 1983.
Let's get his artwork out there please. Maybe a special show on Utube flashing his talent with his paintings!
Early videos were cringe
I love the 1977 now this time is fuckup it sikk I don't like this time
Save a Turkey eat a cat I know where my stalkers are. Holiday Florida. Our children need help . Why do we only see them at the bus stop.
