    If you need help or get lost or run into any problems, just ask the local people. Taiwanese people will go out of their way to help you out. Have fun in Taiwan 🇹🇼

    The jelly in your drink is called "Aiyu jelly," it is made from seeds from fig plant grown in Alishan mountain in Taiwan. It tastes like other jellies but with more tender texture.

    I love your vlog! But I want to mention two things: Taiwan employs government workers to clean up the lanterns once they drop to the ground. They are very litter conscious. Also, Juifen is busy because tourists like you go there lol! I always find it funny when people don’t like when tourist spots are filled with people. Do ppl really expect famous locations to be quiet? It’s a good thing, it means they are doing well and will continue to be able to operate far into the future.

    • @KatieLambie

      I totally get what you are saying. I definitely did not dislike Juifen, I just think I would have enjoyed it much better if we went on a less busy day😅 I also realized as the trip went on that I enjoyed exploring the more local areas so I have been dying to go back to see more of Taiwan because I just loved it there so much❤️ I wanted to share my honest experience but I can see how it could come off wrong🙂 Thank you for the feedback!

      Hi there and just wondering the best way to go to Shifen & Jiufen from Taipei by public transport and should I go to Jiufen and then Shifen or the other way around?

    • @KatieLambie
      @KatieLambie  7 місяців тому +3

      The bus going to the main station was completely full so we just decided to go to Ruifang first instead😅 I think because it was Saturday afternoon, everyone had the same idea lol. Thank you for the information and the sweet comment! I am glad you liked the video❤️

    • @herbthao
      @herbthao 7 місяців тому +2

      @@farixm you should go Shifen first and then Jiufen if you depart from Taipei. Ruifang station is the only connecting spot between Taipei and Shifen and from Ruifang station take a bus to Jiufen and return to Taipei on a bus without getting back to Ruifang

    • @farixm
      @farixm 7 місяців тому

      @@herbthao so just to confirm the sequence should be like this:
      Taipei - Ruifang (Train), Ruifang - Shifen (Train, return trip), Ruifang - Jiufen (Bus), Jiufen - Taipei (Bus). Is it correct?

    There are some organization trying to stop the lantern business because it cause some issue to environment, like trash in the woods, and mountains, and it may cause fire in the woods or on a roof of resident around.

    • @KatieLambie
      @KatieLambie  7 місяців тому +3

      That is exactly what I was worried about but I was scared to say it because I didn’t want to offend anyone😅 I love the idea of it but we were watching hundreds of lanterns going up and then coming right back down so I didn’t want to contribute to it. I feel like no one talks about it but I think it is important to share. Thank you for your insight & thank you for watching the video❤️🫶🏻

      @@KatieLambie If you would like to make some opinions to the Taiwan society, I will say it is quite alright. The majority of Taiwanese people respect others opinion. Because we are in a democracy system and the land of freedom, we may dislike one guy’s speech but we definitely will protect his right of speech. Taiwan is not perfect we understand, and we are taking all kinds of opinions and gradually improve every year. Recently, Taiwan governments launch a new traffic regulations about pedestrian protection environment. $200 fines to those drivers who does not yield to the pedestrian, because Taiwan government heard people’s voices and foreigner’s fear about the traffic on the road in Taiwan.
      Wish you enjoy your vacation in Taiwan, and find the peaceful mind with Taiwanese friendship.❤️🇹🇼🎊🎉

      That area gets more rainfall a year than the Amazon rain forest, so fire isn’t a huge issue. Environment, yes.
