The moment we all knew was coming, but were also wondering how was to be make this time in this amazing remake of ADDICTION, happens in Episode 7 - 0:50 The result this time is way more emotional than the original... 😵💫😲😭😭😭 I can really hear WU BI's heart breaking as SU YU walks in the room finding out the truth and then leaves without a single word... 😭😭😭 That direct look into each other's eyes... leading to that continuous "SU YU" from WU BI running after him sounding really supplicant and regretful... knowing what he has done all alone. BUT then everything changes this time from 1:45 as WU BI is overwhelm from the fact that they are step brothers. The one person in the entire world WU BI was desperately trying to avoid knowing is the same boy he has become so fond of recently. Having the flash back scenes with WU BI connecting all the dots together is really meaningful. The chock this time in this remake version is way much deeper than it was to GU HAI before... to the point that WU BI remains like paralyzed... unable to think, unable to understand what it means, unable to find right there a way out, a confession that could turn things to his advantage as GU HAI tried to do before. This time WU BI needed an entire night to figure out what to do next. Unfortunately he is rejected by SU YU in a similar way BAI LUO YIN did to GU HAI in Episode 10 back in 2016... BUT this time the arguments by SU YU are a lot more hurting. Their very first "break up" scene with SU YU's house door keeping both separated from each other holds a deep symbolic this time... as having a complete family of their own is the goal of this new interpretation of the story. That scene... with the home door splitting them up... with SU YU holding the door close from INSIDE... and with WU BI trying to force his way in from the OUTSIDE is really amazing. My personal favorite scenes from Episode 7 - SU YU thinking of WU BI and having a flash back of moments where he realizes the true meaning behind many things that WU BI did to/for him, and their happy times together: The trick WU BI used to give him a new uniform... and playing basketball. This scene shows the process of SU YU trying to separate the WU BI who became his closest friend... from the WU BI who is his step brother. The conflict SU YU goes trying to balance both escalates always because WU BI is unable to forgive him for not talking to him at his home and for asking him to get lost of his life. As long as SU YU does not apologize to WU BI is going to be very difficult for WU BI to forgive him, and move on together in their new reality. The second scene highlight here is from Episode 8 - from 3:22 We have many similar scenes in Episode 7 as we had in ADDICTION; like when SU YU is given WU BI's notebooks to look after.... BUT here is when the story has a new re-turn moment in Episode 8. In ADDICTION the truth about SU YU's mother was revealed by another student who was jealous of BAI LUO YIN having the best notes in the entire school. This time are WU BI's close friends the ones to reveal the story on the school forum, something that endangers SU YU from getting his scholarship renewal... and the peak of it all ends up fiercely in flames... with SU YU punching WU BI twice on the face out of distress in front of the entire class. This is when the story peaks up its Shakespearean intensity (the two enemies families who's children fall in love) with our ROMEO - that is WU BI here - ending up with this desperately lines at 6:49 - 孽缘啊 - Niè Yuán a = What an evil fate...! A similar feeling and idea as ROMEO's "I am fortune’s fool!" (Act III Scene 1 from "Romeo & Juliet") I am glad that WU BI does not have the vindictive attitude that GU HAI had years before and took all of SU YU's punches and blaming without fighting him back at all. WU BI's break down in tears at the karaoke in Episode 8 asking himself why he couldn't bring himself to hate him or to fight him back with all his strengths was very moving to watch and the actor XU BIN make it very very convincing.... so I am sure many were crying together with him in that scene. Those self questions show how much WU BI likes SU YU already, and how strong his feelings for him are, despite of everything. WU BI's final lines in that karaoke scene were: 我以为遇到了知己 - Wǒ yǐwéi yù dàole zhījǐ = I though that I had finally meet my soulmate. 🥺😭😭😭 My personal favorite scenes from Episode 8 - The karaoke scene with WU BI breaking down in tears... absolute amazing....!! - The one with our little angel DUO DUO (acted by the amazing kid actress 孙伊晨 - Sun Yichen) going to pick up WU BI from school who tells him that her home is his home too, giving him the blue scarf that mama LI knitted for him. The emotions that XU BIN (as WU BI) shows in that scene are also very moving. I have to say XU BIN chemistry with out little girl actress SUN YICHEN is also wonderful to watch and enjoy in this Series. This is something that ADDICTION did not have, and that belongs exclusively to STAY WITH ME. Their song together in the opening of the Episodes of the Series, and her name listed 3rd in the cast final credits show what an important co-starring role she plays in this story. What is to come next in the following Episodes is how SU YU's father reacts to finding out the truth this time. THAT... connected to SU YU realizing that he was wronging WU BI for the forum scandal about his mother that practically costed him not only the school scholarship but also his reputation should create the basis for SU YU to seek WU BI and stop him from transferring back schools and never seeing him again. Tomorrow and on Saturday we will know how this story goes on in Episodes 9 - 10 and 11 - 12. Until then... I better prepare some strong drinks this time to watch instead of my green guava juice. I should follow Duo Duo's example and try some margaritas this time. 😂 😂 😂 Cheers..:!
