At some point you have no choice. Even if you’re “done” in between aid stations, it might take you hours to hike to the next aid station where you can rest before deciding to drop. The race requires a high level of self sufficiency and determination. Thanks for watching!
btw, what camera did you use??? I took videos of mine, and they were not at all as clear as yours (used an iphone 11, but am very new with all the technology).
I shot with a GoPro Hero 7 Black. It does a great job with a lot of light, its nighttime capabilities were more limited. Video from pacers and crew were recorded using a variety of iPhones.

Such love from your team - incredible achievement 🫡
Thank you!
U the rock, u look fresh in the race and u have a wonderful support and wife. Well Done.... thanks for sharing with the world. God Bless
Thank you Miki. Thanks for watching.
What an unbelievable achievement. So much grit to keep going
At some point you have no choice. Even if you’re “done” in between aid stations, it might take you hours to hike to the next aid station where you can rest before deciding to drop. The race requires a high level of self sufficiency and determination. Thanks for watching!
This video was awesome. So cool to see one man push himself past all limits. You sir are a beast 💪
Glad you enjoyed it! This journey taught me our bodies are capable of so much more than we expect.
@@wplate thanks for the reply.
Super inspiring man. Your videos have such a chill vibe. They are a pleasure to watch. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching MK!
That pole canyon hike was BRUTAL!!! I felt the same way. Lucky you had a pacer with you. Congrats on the finish! Very impressive
btw, what camera did you use??? I took videos of mine, and they were not at all as clear as yours (used an iphone 11, but am very new with all the technology).
I shot with a GoPro Hero 7 Black. It does a great job with a lot of light, its nighttime capabilities were more limited. Video from pacers and crew were recorded using a variety of iPhones.
thanks for filming and posting these wes nice run
Congratulations for your video and in every participant!
I did 4750! kilometers! 64yrs old in Athens international ultra marathon festival Jan 2020
Nice Michael! That’s some serious distance, congrats!

👏👏🏃🏻💨🏜⛰🏕🗻🏔Congratulations Good Video beautiful place and much to learn, greetings👍
Thank you very much!
This is such an epic journey. I love the music, the videography, everything! It really inspires dreams.
I've been running for 22+ years with trail ultras for only the last 7 years or so. Still working my way up to my first 100-mile. But as you know it is a long slow journey to get there. Maybe some day! 50-mile is definitely on the list for this summer.
Cheers, keep up the lovely videos and most of all have fun out there!
Thank you, I'm so happy you enjoyed this video. I hope you get to 100 miles or whatever distance you have in mind. Thanks for checking out the channel.
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing it. Brings back such vivid memories. Moab was my first 200. Epic endurance experience. See you at Tahoe!
Thanks Matt! This distance is amazing, I am so excited to do more of them!
"Moab does not disappoint" it really looks like an amazing place to do something really quite amazing!
A perfect storm of amazing! I love the desert, it really is special.
I love this documentary, you're so motivating, including your family and friends that supported you!
Thank you Daniel! I’m so happy you enjoyed watching this. I have the best friends and family! :)
Very inspirational and thoroughly absorbing to watch. I am 57 and very new to running ( actually I have actively avoided it all my life ) I have gone from zero to 10 km over the past 2 months and this video has made me excited about running gradually longer distances. I am sure I will watch it again whenever I need inspiration. Many thanks.
Definitely do it gradually and avoid injury. I'm glad the older, wiser you has found that running is a good thing! I ran my first ultra at age 42, and I hope I'm still banging around these long distances in ten years.
@@wplate Thank you Wes. I will certainly take it steady and build slowly. Injury avoidance will be a priority. I have watched a few of your videos now and really enjoy them ( I might give the loading of cows a miss as I am a Vegan ) You have inspired me to to enter my first race which is an off-road half marathon in January. Many thanks, Rob
@@wplate Hi Wes, Greetings from England. I was inspired to take up running at the age of 56 after watching a few running videos including your own. At the weekend I ran my first trail race ( 14km through the New Forest ) and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will continue to watch your videos for inspiration as I start to plan my graduation to the half marathon distance and beyond. Many thanks, Rob
