United24 is one of the official charities, Razom for Soldiers of Ukraine helps soldiers injured in the conflict, Doctors without Borders also does a lot of work there.
The children play very different at the moment. My is hiding its imaginary baby friend in safe place and says that he will protect a small invisible creature. And you feel bad because you did everything you could to keep him away from the war. I never thought that it could happen to us. But it is not the worst thing. In march my friend told me that a naked woman with a child came to his village from the occupied territory. She was raped all night by 6 russian soldiers with his husband watching that. Then they killed him and she escaped while they fell asleep drunk. She was in hospital for several weeks. There are even more sick stories, but I do not want to write them. There is a reason why people call them orcs. Dark times. Ukrainians are very grateful for any help and a lot of counties helped more than we expected and saved thousands of lives. However, russia is strong and the end is not near. If you feel you want to help, then you can donate to Serhiy Prytula Fund (search about it), even 1 dollar will help. Stepping aside, Jinjer is from the most destructed region of Ukraine, they felt everything I feel now, but 8 years earlier. So, yeah, the song is very emotional.
Written about when the fighting started in 2014, but sadly it still applies today.

The war in Ukraine actually started in 2014, not 2022. Most of us just didn't pay much attention, other than being surprised by Russia stealing Crimea.
The song was released before the 2022 invasion. Makes you shudder to think it was already this bad, then it got 1000 times worse.
This song describes unimaginable circumstances of a child in the middle of a war. This has been an unfortunatereality for many and many people are still trapped in warzones around the world. I hope the war in Ukraine ends soon.

Oh yeah.
Thats my fathers favorite jinjer song and thats for a good reason.
Honestly whenever i hear that song i start crying.
I just can't handle the lyrics and i have no idea how they can perform that song live.
The interesting thing is that they wrote this before the war with russia had started.
Long before even.
Now it is just relevant again which is even more heartbreaking in my opinion.
Aside from the lyrics the music is just masterclass level of perfection.
I just saw them two days ago and they played it as a big middle finger to Putin. I would say they are able to play this with the anger they have for the situation.
