I've noticed something with uploading VHS to UA-cam, when you upload in 1440p 60fps (or 50 in PAL) you can get higher quality video (Less blocky artifacts, more close to the original file) due to YT's compression giving a higher quality standard for anything above 1080p. Thanks! I noticed that some time ago, so I always use hardware to convert the video to 1080p prior to uploading. The video you’re commenting on is, for example, 1080p. 😃
Good question. Almost all of my physical media has been tossed, after concluding that what I digitized was faithful to the original. Might be a few stragglers around here, but otherwise, it’s all files.
