  • My first EUC is a Vetern Patton, and I have a few suggestions for learning EUC on a Leperkin Vetern Patton.

Welcome to the sport. You will thoroughly enjoy yourself after you get used to it. Years ago a UA-camr called Wilson documented his learning to ride an EUC and it was very interesting. However he was simply documenting his journey, people could infer what they wanted from his video. But, to my knowledge he did be not try to be teacher way ahead of his time. The internet does not need how-to videos made by people doing something for the first time.

    Nice / Informative video Chuck!
If you or anyone else is ever in need of some good 'padding', here are some Amazon key-words for ya:
"Yotache High Density Adhesive Foam Seal Tape 2 in One Roll 2" W X 1/4" T, Weather Strip Insulation for RV, Air Conditioning Window, Garage Door, Total 13 Ft Length"
This closed cell foam neoprene is Fantastic! [Used in motorcycle seat building, etc]
I use it on all of my motorcycles' skid-guards to silence them and eliminate any knocks/rattles..
The same stuff is eventually going on my V13 wherever there's case-to-leg-contact. 🤘

So I'm just learning and I am 58 years old. My first three weeks consisted of seriously bruised legs, almost lost a toenail, hurt my back, and sprained my ankle, 😂😂😂 now I am at 40 days of riding, with slow speed and tight turn practice in my backyard every day and about 400 miles on my wheel. Not crashing anymore, feeling comfortable on public roads with lots of traffic and stop signs and stop lights, already knocked out a few mountain bike trails, now I am practicing going backwards. Damn that is hard! It's amazing how fast your brain picks it up however. Practice the hard stuff two or three times a day for 15 minutes and then wake up the next day and check out your improvement. Minor improvements happen almost every single day! Thanks for the video and have lots of fun!

I will be in the same boat. My Patton is coming soon. I rode my sister's MTen3 for three sessions before it overheated 🙄. I'm able to turn in both directions and able to stay on the wheel. I'm sure I will still drop my wheel as I progress.

I am extremely interested in the Patton. I am looking for a wheel that will work on trails, but will do well in town, city, etc...what company did you go with to buy your Patton, does it come ready to go out of the box?....Any help would be much appreciated....I am seeking a new euc!

imo wheel is too heavy to lift and to small wheel to ride upstairs.. and terrible enginering on controller placement - you'll need to seal it every time if opened

Great to see another old dog learn a new trick. I am 56.
This is so much fun. Try MTB trail riding once you get a hang of it.

Nice! I'm 58 and just learning and all my friends are rolling their eyes at me! I am at 400 miles and about 40 days and I'm already ripping out some 30 mile rides and I'm doing OK! Already did some trail rides and they were nerve-racking but I didn't crash.

You made a good choice. Leaper Kim's products are solid. The menu system is simple.

Well thank you father but I too started out with a bigger expensive wheel and I'm 58 years old and I'm doing just fine!
