I built my shop in 2012, 40x60, post beam for $80,000 less than what they wanted just for the steel for a 40 x 60 steel building no labor just the steal crazy. Several people laugh at me and told me it'll fall down in 50 years. My reply was I'll be dead in 50 years, so What do I care. A post beam building is an awesome building it'll do everything you need it to.

Man I wish I lived closer to you. I would so love to pitch in and give you a hand... I have been in a funk since the fire but seem to be coming out of it with the excitement of the new building.
Just owning a lift after laying on the ground for a minute now has to make a guy feel like there is a better way of living!!

Excellent video Brent :), Ester :) also got 2 post hoist and super too ! Yes do understand steal buildings Brent & Ester cost I know home farm grew up on my late dad also late uncle got was 185 × 165 single level , hydro , 4 windows , entrance door , 6 big barn tracks doors , hydro for Welder, Air compressor, also 8 lights , 550 to 220 Volt 6 plug for 3 wire and gravel ground cost them $50.000 in 1984 year! Plus work bench 2 shelves type 165 long of hardwood maple from farm cut up to make assembly to!

Shop electrical should be conduits. It ridiculous to hide wire in walls ,main reason you can add an outlet or tie in anywhere. Good Luke on the hoist/lift.

A friend of mine is trying to build a new garage ( Metro Detroit area, USA ) the township is saying that it’s too big. There’s a new subdivision being a couple miles away. The new garage is going to be 32 x 24 and the slab is already poured. Local government at its finest. NIMBY’s make me crazy over trivial issues. How hard is it building permits in Canada?

So, what's the plan, two 10K and one 15 to 20K capacity lifts or one 10K and two 15 to 20K capacity lifts, maybe one of each? ;-)
How aqobut heating the new building? Can you aford heating the hole building up?
It will be less expensive to heat than the old shop. Much more energy efficient.
