My boyfriend moved to Hamilton January of this year and my goodness the lowest we found was $299,000 for a house that needs major renovations to turn key homes upwards of $600,000,+ for 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms we are looking for our forever home but the majority of the houses are out of our price range, we have been hopeful the prices will drop soon, fingers crossed
People in Silverbrook already posted videos of mold in their places (the apartments IIRC). Absurd for a new development.

We moved to Hamilton in September of 2017 and bought in November of 2019 for $299K we felt we over paid because our home was $200K in 2017. But it is a lot more now
Kin folk said, Jed move away from there, said Montana is the place you want to be, so they loaded up the truck and they moved to Kalispell. :)
But seriously, it's nice to finally hear about some price drops. The Big Sky resort area has had an abundance of listings, price drops, and long days on market.
Silverbrook looks clean and I hear they have high speed internet. Hopefully they open that north development with larger lots, 3-4 car garages, etc.

I noticed more houses that were on the marked this summer now have prices dropped trying to sell them in the fall (Polson area) Housed listed at $500,000 this summer now dropped by $50k.
Between inflation and interest rates, and possibly even institutional buyers taking up inventory, I just don't see how the average guy could afford these homes. Back in the day, a truck driver could buy a home in a new development. But now, you need to be making triple the median income to get into these developments. There just are not enough people making this much money.
So my 1500 sq ft, 3 bedroom 1 bath and 2 car garage valued at 155k would be a bargain in Iowa. :) That wouldn't even make a good down payment. 😢
I cannot believe that there are jobs with salaries that support those home prices. Out of control. My grandparents had a home in Missoula that he got for $53k about fourty five years ago. He retired there. Today?? He’d probably be in a homeless camp.
I know of two teachers in the Missoula Public Schools who live in their cars due to the high cost of rent and/or housing affordability.
Poor Kalispell. I blame the Californians turning it into Bozeman.
i was born in kalispell. I went to Flathead high school. I live in Bozeman because I work at the hospital in the x-ray dept. I lived in Bozeman for 15 years. The drivers are getting bad. They run red lights, when you get the green arrow to turn left. They go straight. Its not the same anymore. The politicans don't get, more tax revenue.

The cycle has changing no one understands it, buyers are not coming every rate increase every inflation data point means people have less money to spend on houses, unfortunately they’re going to learn at all the hard way
Oh my God fk Montana too expensive to live there. Those homes are 250,000. With the interest rates now no I can't afford to live there
Poor folk on West side have to walk in the street. Good to see life is cheap in Montana like everywhere else in the US. Winner take all. The American dream. 😅
