What a great video! We went through Whitefish last fall on the train but of course we couldn’t get off to see more of the town. It looked really pretty and I would have liked to explore a bit. This video was a real treat, I got to see what we missed. Thank you so much, you did a beautiful job. 😃
I never even thought about Montana until I started following Adrianne Curry, who lives deep in the mountains of Whitefish. Such a beautiful place, wish I could afford to live in Montana in a log cabin away from the world. Seems like a John Denver song come to life.
Oldest son and family lived there for six years --- so drove up there from Bend, Oregon every year to visit . Picked a lot of huckleberries in bear country . Nothing more tasty than anything huckleberry -pie, ice cream, cobbler--- Loved " Big Sky" country ! !
Such a beautiful town and state. Kick myself often,on not buying 20 years ago. My family lives all over MT. Thanks for the tour of the new whitefish area
Really enjoyed watching this. Haven't been to Whitefish in 30 years. Learned to ski on Big Mountain. Montana is my favorite state, it's so beautiful. Sadly, I'm stuck in Atlanta, GA. Hopefully I'll get back for a visit one day.
I grew up in the little towns up and down the valley hungry horse, Martin city (we called it martian city lol people out there are a bit different lol) i even lived in a cabin behind packers roost with my family for a couple years in like 89 90. when I was a kid we would go into packers and order virgin shirly temples and they would open the pool tables for us.there was a guy that did chainsaw carvings out front. just across the highway was a trail down to the river some of the best fishing in the world and coldest water anywhere.do people still get water from that pipe that sticks out of the mountain in that rest stop???lol sorry sometimes I really miss home you know
Looks awesome, thanks for the video. We would love to move to the Whitefish area. But it is hard for europeans... Hopefully one fine day. It is beautiful 😀 Regards from Germany, Jessica
Visited the other year and this video was quite helpful is piecing things together. Definitely in my top3 of places I want to move to, just hoping my company can make it happen by this summer
In Whistler the Fire hydrants have sticks with Flags on them for when the snow is deep , This reminds me of Whistler The condos and Homes around the the town
Back in late May this year, we took a day trip from our hotel in Spokane Valley, WA to Whitefish. Beautiful drive! Unfortunately it was raining by the time we got to Whitefish, but it still was a great trip and we enjoyed walking around the town. Really nice! Also very much impressed by the Performing Arts Center, attached to the Middle School -- it looked like it was a great design and an awesome place for concerts! Thanks for posting this video!
Aside from the new Landmark development, I only found 1 listing ($3M search filter) in the entire Whitefish ski area (Big Mountain). Are they only listing properties privately (aka outside the MLS system) or are there just no properties on the market?
I'm not sure what is going on with the filter you are using. Currently, there are 19 places for sale on the mountain. Let me know if you want me to send a list.
Thank you so much for making these videos. I live in Washington State; about 15min from Tacoma. These past 2 years have really been making me want to get the hell out of Washington and Montana seems so beautiful. I love how Montana has a more "country" feel to it. Where I live it's just become one big warehouse....
Yes @Fernaureason WA has become an extension of CA. The politics ruined it too. MT has no intention of letting newcomers turn it in to Aspen. Great family place - we love it!!
You should also look at the Methow Valley and Okanogan county in eastern (really central) WA. I grew up there and it’s totally different that the coast.
Beautiful town, but the housing prices for what you get are outrageous. You can get the same house in the Carolinas or Tennessee with acreage for a fraction of that. Still, great video.
Whitefish is a particularly expensive part of Montana due to it being a resort town, you could travel just a short distance outside of it and find housing and land for far cheaper.
I could live here for sure. Any chance you know Rod Garcia? He's a local. How is the cost of living aside from the real estate there? Are property taxes and utilities expensive too?
this is an excellent video. i've been looking for someth ing like this for over a year. can you tell me when this video was actually recorded? also, are you able to give an estimate on what someone's minimum disposable income should be if they were to transplant? to me, it seems like a bare minimum disposable income of $100,000/year would get you a one bedroom apartment in an ok part of town.
@@E36323ti Like I said in the video, they don’t allow national companies downtown on Central Avenue. We do have some companies like Safeway outside of the downtown area.
The ranch on the northern part of the lake has been for sale for many years (we randomly drove past in 2018 and it stood out while exploring). Please tell me the logic in nobody wants it for $20m asking price. Now it’s asking $40m…what am I missing here??
Ptarmigan on big mountain road is 5 min from slopes and 15 to town. Town has plenty of good restaurants and bars from good old school vibes to fine dining. I’m staying there again this year and renting a house. VRBO seems to be the best option. I visit every year, my favorite mountain to Board. Cheers.
I took a couple of stacks of bills and threw them on the fire today, it was negative below after all. I made my servants sleep outside. They complained. I told them, they need to acclimate…Guatemala didn’t do them any favors then I threw my head back and chortled with my eyes closed for effect while sipping champagne pinky out.

When I was there everything looked new and clean
Loved Whitefish. Stayed there in September 2020. Never had been out west but this was place is amazing. Hope to visit again soon!

Wonderful place to live and work. You are living the dream Will!
It really is!
Where do people work in Whitefish to afford a real estate market with so many $1 million dollar homes?
I considered transferring to Whitefish but then realized I couldn’t afford it on railroad union wages. 😢😢😢
I wish I could afford to live in Whitefish. It’s beautiful, although the people can be a bit less than understanding. I live in C Falls.
I Love C Falls!
I stayed in columbia falls for a bit last year. I found it to be lovely and really close to whitefish. everyone we met was really really nice.
You are very fortunate to live in " God's Country" ---Montana ! !

Very informative tour, thank you. Going to Whitefish next month for the first time.
I'm not even moving to MT. But this videos are very entertaining!

What a beautiful state. That beautiful weather and scenery could totally close the deal!
Awesome video. Great info and well articulated
The weather is so beautiful! I love all the effort you put into your content. When did you film this? Love looking at that Big Sky country!
It's not like that for many months in the winter and early spring
Wow those prices are no joke, way to expensive
Oh so beautiful…..but oh so expensive.
The pump track/skatepark looks so rad! Good on the city for making them
It's a great park!
Thank you for the tour. It’s beautiful.
Thanks for watching!
Beautiful place, some day of my life, i will live or travel in that town...Greetings from Venezuela!

If I can't live in Whitefish, I still would like to visit it. Thanks for sharing this. Cheers!
You should!

Nice little ski town, looks like more on the high end of reality,. Whats going on over in the Darby area ?
I am looking at moving to the area but I would have to increase my income by a lot.
Cant wait to visit

We agree!

Whitefish very pricey because it’s a resort town so expect housing, cost of living high
amazing place

It’s a great Idea not aloud big companies taking over everything
according to google, there is a Safeway there :P

Wow...has this place changed from the 70's.
So sad to see that the future has arrived in Whitefish.
When I win the lottery, I'll be headed your way. :)
