- Ever since I was a child, I have heard stories of a mystical fish that dwells deep within the jungle of Borneo. It is renowned for its smooth, tender flesh with a tint of fruity flavour. Its elusive nature and unique taste have made it the most expensive freshwater fish in Malaysia. In Malaysia, the fish is known as, Empurau.

This is an amazing video and I am impressed with the fishing equipment ( very high end gear ) the Red Masheer looks to be in the carp family,yet is still very predatory towards lures😜 and a mighty battle once hooked…..a dream fishing trip indeed. My first time being aware of this Empurau 😍❤️🔥
you're right they are the same family as carp👍 they fight alot harder due to the strong current and having strong muscle from living in rapids
