I love my Curado DC and recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable baitcasting reel. Once you get it tuned, you'll have no backlash.

This is clearly the future and if they can bring the cost down just a little lower..and offer more reels there wouldnt be a single reason to not make every reel you have a DC version. We are behind the Japanese market but it’s more about the price because if I wanted to spend that money I could get one from Japan but this is an amazing start..will be picking up one of these the minute they come out fantastic work and I’m so excited.
The thing about this reel is that this is the first affordable dc shimano reel. Dc has been out since the early 2000s however they have costed upwards of 6 to 700 dollars and since then those dc breaks have been getting upgraded. I think the 250 dollar msrp is a good price for these as of now since theres a massive ammount of innovation put into the reel and the materials are top notche. Its counterpart the curado k aint much worse at all really from 160 bucks its well worth its value and theres no major difference other then having to thumb the spool a tiny bit versus not having to thumb at all. The k is where its at for a mid range reel
The Rc Master6042 now they have the slx dc... that might be the best midrange feel now

Its old news because we just don't use what shimano USA has. The D.C. Reels have been out for a long time like Andrew G said. The curado D.C. Is basically the scorpion D.C. For the USA market. If u research enough or own one you would know. The jdm market gears are hot now and is superior with more money involved.

Can i wash this reel after casting? Is it waterproof enough to prevent water from catching the electronic component inside the reel while washing it? Frequently casting for saltwater fish btw.
Yes, wash it with gentle water, especially when fishing saltwater. No high-pressure hose or anything.....

I have to wait a whole year because I learned the best way to use a baitcaster as a right handed person?
(Dominant hand is on the rod working the lure and making cast while left hand cranks.) Dont have to switch hands after cast like a weirdo and I get to use my better hand for working the lure.
Guess I'll just buy a tatula right now.

Curado dc vs scorpion dc??
RushinToFishin From what I've heard the 3 main differences are that the Curado DC is on the K frame and the Scorpion DC is on the I frame. The Curado DC also has micro module brass gears, and I think the Scorpion DC has hagane gears, but I'm not 100% sure on that. And the Curado has the DC5 system, while the Scorpion has the DC7 version.
Scorpion has iDC5: Auto and 1-4 setting while Curado DC only have 1-4.
