Today's Highlights:
A man wants to clear his name after he was wrongfully accused of being a suspect in a shooting incident that took place in Arouca on Friday 12th July 2024.
• Initial reports were that a man identified as 40-year-old Ricki Balchan and his common-law wife 32-year-old Vena Gunness, both of 100 Spring Road Extension, Five Rivers, Arouca were allegedly assaulted while trying to flee gunmen.
However, the accused (Keiron) said that he was not involved in the incident.
A 32-year-old man from Chaguanas was expected to appear virtually at the north criminal high court today after he was charged with the murder of amputee, Verant Edwards.
• The accused identified as Darren Seales, also called Scotty and Totti, of Carlsen Field, Chaguanas was charged with the offense of murder, relative to the death of a man who was beaten and burned following the advice from the AG director of public prosecution Mrs. Sabrina Jaglal.
A businesswoman was gunned down during an attempted robbery in San Fernando on Saturday 13th July, 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 25-year-old Carissa Ramrattan, a businesswoman of Grants Street, Rio Claro.
The country has recorded its fourth triple murder after three men were gunned down outside Rituals Coffee House and Pizza Boys in Cunupia on Sunday 14th July 2024.
• The deceased was identified as 24-year-old Dave Lyons, a Coast Guard officer of Alley Drive, Sea Trace, Diego Martin; 35-year-old Earl Peters of Corner Savannah #2 Road and Diego Martin and 22-year-old Jahmarley Goddard, of Bagatelle Road, Diego Martin.
