Great video, I like the way you present your arguments, very clear and precise. How ever I just want to clarify something that confuse me for a second. I live in Latin America, so when you were talking about the Kobo and the inconvenience of region and then you mentioned Canada it was confusing. Canada is also in America, were I live is in America as well, because it's part of the same continent. You should say United States so it's more clear for people living outside USA.
Not sure if you know this - I only found it recently myself - if you go into settings you are able to make the book cover fill the entire screen when used as wallpaper. Makes it look so much better IMO
I love this video! This is the first time I’ve tried to research a product before purchasing (since reading is so important to me) and this has been so helpful :,) thank you!
Amazon really punched Kobo in the gut buying Goodreads. God I hate Amazon lol. They cut every corner because they know they can give you reasons it's hard to leave. It's true, having Goodreads built-in is so nice...
Well, it would be a smart move for Kobo to buy StoryGraph and implement it in their readers. It’s much better than Goodreads and the design doesn’t feel decades old. I would quite like that :)
Kobo Clara is so much lighter and portable due to its size. Kobo's have a very clear lay out of exactly which page out of the entire book and chapter you're on. You can adjust the backlight instantly with the scroll on the left side on the Kobo screen which is SO convenient and one of the best features on it. Kindle PW5 on the other hand, although it is a light device, when compared with the Clara HD it does feel chunkier. I found it frustrating to know which page I'm on and can't get a good sense out of where I am in the book. Maybe this is just me, but I like the minimalistic approach on the Kobo's.
They did for a few days, but then Kobo shut it down :( Check out my video on this specific topic from a couple of months ago: ua-cam.com/video/Afq2vUxtZYU/v-deo.html Thank you for watching, btw! 🙌🏽
Thank you SO MUCH for this. I'm in Canada and wondering which reader to get. This is exactly what I needed. Also, I prefer to support Chapters Indigo over Amazon and would like to take advantage of library e-books, so this made choosing the Kobo very easy. THANK YOU!
Sat Sri Akaal 🙏 After watching several of your videos, I instantly made up my mind to get a kobo as my first ereader. I got the kobo clara and she is a beauty. Perfect size in my palm, easy to hold and carry anywhere. Overdrive is a game changer! It's so easy to borrow books now and I couldn't be happier! Thank you brother for sharing your videos! I really appreciate it alot! 🙏🙏
3:22 there is a setting for that in kindle as well... when in sleep mode it shows the cover of the book you're reading currently.. I use it (but I keep a kindle cover, so :D )
❤️Kobo Clara HD❤️ Casual reader here. CONS: -can't organize by file name/folders -clumsy highlighting -screen taps not very responsive(often have to tap twice) -usb B port, slow charge -works but not well for PDFs PROS: -easily side load epubs. -no ads/no ecosystem lock -8gb is a TON of space. Thousands of epubs. -good screen, adjustable warm -different fonts, sizes, spacing -built in dictionary easy to use -built in Overdrive/Libby -light, comfortable, sturdy -there are nice inexp cases for it, with auto sleep/hand strap/kickstand! -good battery life(1-2wks) -secret built in sketch pad -it goes on sale for $89.99(2022) Great bang for the buck in my opinion.
Your videos are really well done And kinda made my decision on ebook reader, to get Kobo Clara HD in the end. Helped, because, I was overwhelmed by the choice, as most ebook readers in that price range seemed decent enough... And decided to buy one only today, because I seriously took reading very recently So yay
My biggest issue with Kobo is that they lack cloud services. I only buy books with no DRM and sideload them. And there is no way I can sync these across multiple Kobos or Kobo app on my phone. It’s very inconvenient. But I ended up using Kobo anyway, because Kindle does have cloud, but it’s always buggy, one time books don’t show covers, next time they miss author names… And on top of that I really hate flush screens. If Kobo had cloud, I would have a perfect reader.
Wait, kindle has collections. You can build collection (bookshelves in other apps) of any books you think belong together, really nice when you have hundreds of books on kindle.
I use a Kobo, can buy books anywhere and in any format i like and put it in my kobo, + loan in the libery direct, Kindle is to locked down for me.. Only is what i feel Kobo Clara HD is litle to small, so will step up a sitze to Libra or Forma soon...
Well I’m in Australia and our kindles aren’t allowed to have ads due to our strict consumer laws. so ours is just non ads for all of the kindles :) the ads do look annoying
When testing out the Kobo, have you experimented with importing books as epub files and Calibre, or sideloaded apps on the Kobo? I'm not saying this because I think it will change your mind, I'm mostly asking because I'm very curious about it and I can't find any good videos about what you can do using the easy sideloading/moding on Kobo
Is it possible to have your own books bought in other shops in Kobo? But I don't mean to transfer them via USB but does Kobo have somethng like "Send to Kindle" in Kindle? I would like to have access to the same books on an e-reader, a phone etc.
I have watched several kindle and kobo videos but none them is so detailed like yours! Thank you! Now I know I’m not gonna buy a Kindle. Does your country offer Kindle Unlimited? I don’t know where you live, but hearing your accent I think you live in the USA? Can you please make a video about what kind of ebooks we can get in Kindle Unlimited? I live in Netherlands, we have Kobo Plus but not Kindle Unlimited. But if our Dutch Amazon does offer Kindle Unlimited in the future, I will consider buying a Kindle
Thank you very much for watching! I will have to look into Kindle Unlimited. It is offered in America, but I never used it. I don't read enough books to warrant a subscription like that. But I never researched it so maybe I'm mistaken!
one more deal breaker for me is to be able to email document to Kindle using a dedicated address. I do it from my iPhone if something is too long and want offline reading. Why is it so hard for Kobo to implement.
Tip: to access the progress bar on the kindle, tap the top left corner of the screen while you’re reading a book, than tap the button to the left of the grid button
Margins are so much better on Kobo, you can have no margins or huge margins and of course everything in between. Margins on Kindle are just too big and you only get 3 choices, such a waste of screen space.
Hey everyone! I recently made an updated version of this video. Check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/gOWbpt075R0/v-deo.html

Your beard is legendary
Haha thank you!
I do agree
He could easily shape it to resemble kratos's beard from god of war 4
Your videos are of such high quality! Definitely deserving of more subscribers!
I really appreciate that! Thank you for watching!
I've just ordered a kobo clara hd and I feel like I made the right choice for myself :) thanks for your videos!
I hope you enjoy your new Kobo! Thanks so much for watching.
Not sure if you know this - I only found it recently myself - if you go into settings you are able to make the book cover fill the entire screen when used as wallpaper. Makes it look so much better IMO
Yes! This is a great feature. Thank you for mentioning it!
For Kobo?How?
I love this video! This is the first time I’ve tried to research a product before purchasing (since reading is so important to me) and this has been so helpful :,) thank you!
Thanks for watching!
3:17 Kindle also has a feature to show the cover of your currently reading book on the sleep screen.
I just bought my first e-reader Kobo Clara Hd thanks to your help for making these videos it's a big help
Love from the Philippines 💕
Enjoy!! 🥰
Amazon really punched Kobo in the gut buying Goodreads. God I hate Amazon lol. They cut every corner because they know they can give you reasons it's hard to leave. It's true, having Goodreads built-in is so nice...
Right? Their ecosystem is hard to beat. I hope another brand can build something just as good. Thanks for watching! 🙏🏽
Is goodreads free? Or is it a marketplace to buy straight from the device?
Well, it would be a smart move for Kobo to buy StoryGraph and implement it in their readers. It’s much better than Goodreads and the design doesn’t feel decades old. I would quite like that :)

Your videos are very informative. I learned that I could take a screenshot of my Kindle from one of your videos. It's a very helpful tip☺️
So glad you found the tips useful! Thanks so much for watching.
I looked up on website for Readwise and Kobo they do allow import highlights now! BTW, love your channel!

You have a very nice channel. I do support you.Your vedios are really pro and enjoyable.
I really appreciate the kind words and support!
I wish they hadn’t discontinued the Kobo Mini. I need this mini e-reader 🤔🧐

Sorry if you covered this and I missed it, but how is the sun glare? I love to read outside.
Will buy Kobo. In Canada the Kindle will not allow borrowing books from the Library. That is my primary reading source and need.
Thank you so much. Very informative video.
Glad it was helpful!
waiting for your full review on remarkable 2 vs kindle oasis🤓
I'll have to look into getting the Remarkable! Thanks for that suggestion!
Thanks bro. Your videos are great
Glad you like them!

That's so awesome haha
Same for the Netherlands!
Same for india
On my old kindle, if I tap on the progress item, it will switch to current page/ total pages
I came from kobo h2o to kindle paperwhite signature edition (arrived yesterday) and reading quality is better on kindle
Thank you for this video 👍🏾
Thank you for watching it!

Wow this is such a detailed video! Love it! And leaning towards Kobo :3
Thank you for watching! 🙌🏽
really helpful video! thanks
Sir, how can I send books from my Android phone to Kobo clara HD ?
Hi, for Kobo. Is it necessary to buy screen protector and the cover as well?
I personally don't use screen protectors for anything. I do like to use a sleep cover, though!
Is it possible to have your own books bought in other shops in Kobo? But I don't mean to transfer them via USB but does Kobo have somethng like "Send to Kindle" in Kindle? I would like to have access to the same books on an e-reader, a phone etc.

@@Maneetpaul hehe yeah! The subscription will only be beneficial if you read a lot
On kobo ste, looks like readwise works now. ??
Canada. My deal-maker/-breaker is library access. Game, set, and match to Kobo.
What are the updates the clara 2e has over the clara?
Bedankt
Thank you for your support!
Kindle is also soo popualr in ireland and the Uk
Hi, Thanks for the video. Is there an option to hear the translated word in order to learn how to pronounce it?
Kobo stays winning imo thanks for the great video lad
Readwise support sync with kobo now.
Where did you hear that?
Kobo is great for borrowing books from the library.
Great videos!
Thanks so much!
Kobo cannot be worse than Kindle because Kindle has no customer service.
Kindle or kobo...?
Kindle
Kobo
I ended buying a Paperwhite 11. And I love it!
I'm gonna test the kobo in a far future.
is there 18+ books on the kobo?
Yes
I’ll keep my kindle.
Yeah! If you already have one keep it!! Haha.
one more deal breaker for me is to be able to email document to Kindle using a dedicated address. I do it from my iPhone if something is too long and want offline reading. Why is it so hard for Kobo to implement.
could i transfer my ebooks from mobile phone to kobo without computer??
Following 😁
Tip: to access the progress bar on the kindle, tap the top left corner of the screen while you’re reading a book, than tap the button to the left of the grid button

Can we buy book on available on amazon kindle in kobo?
Waste kobo
Yes and viceversa, but you need to strip the DRM and convert the books.
