It seems to have some nice upgrades from the Hero 10, lets hope the crashing and over-heating issues that a lot of users have experienced are a thing of past now. They must of seen your video because I got this one with the stick kit and it had cardboard dividers so the camera and stick can stay in place with room for extra batteries and stuff in the other slots
The contents of my box were alot different. I got a chest mount, a floatie, a clip-on mount, 2 batteries, the case, but no SD card. My son's Hero 9 had a tripod
Strange how Canadians can't get the Enduro battery as down here in Australia, we are usually last for everything, but I have had the battery for a few months now. Not a big upgrade over the 10, but I am interested in upgrading anyway.
just bought this b/c I heard go pros were user friendly, and was disappointed to be confronted with all the update confusion. I still don't understand if the camera HAS to be updated to use it. I don't want the app on my phone, don't want my content on the cloud, etc. I just want to use the camera. Can I use it right away without updating?
Sad to see no GoPro Max2 :( As for the 11, the only thing I'm interested in seeing is the low light performance. GoPro's lowlight video quality remains unusable for the most part. Every else was already fantastic on the 10. Wondering if they managed to improve it at all.

⚠️ I have the same one, my friend of mine has the same one and we worked together, we have the same malfunction on both cameras, freezing problem, the camera turns off several times, there is also the impossibility of saving the videos on i could and there is no date and time display option on the recorded videos
Get my 11 today! Had to upgrade my 10 especially for the larger sensor perfect for instagram & TikTok videos. Hopefully a lot better then the 10 freezing or Overheating issues!
Yes, indeed. You’ll have to go to the GoPro website download the Firmware to a memory card and then insert it into the camera. When you power on the camera, it will detect the firmware and install it.
Interesting how your camera had clear film over the lens and screens, my one had what i can only assume was paper over those parts (white coloured something), i don’t know if thats down to a regional variation in packaging or if they changed it some point after launch (i was quite late in getting my one, in fact i think at the point when i got mine, some people may have advised waiting until the Hero 12)

You can use the GoPro app to set up automatic transfers and auto upload to the cloud. Or you can just transfer them over manually. I can use cable or do it wirelessly

For the most part no they are not. However, sometimes they run promotions where they include one for free. Just do some searching around some other online stores offer free memory cards with a purchase.

Especially higher resolution videos,,, I was disappointed that right out of box camera couldn’t download,,, going to the action 3 plus I. Don’t need a year’s subscription and it’s Dji app is simple and works 100 percent of time,,, I
My guess is that Gopro makes you force you to update through the app is so they know who has the new camera. But... they do anyway if you use the app afterwards anyway. Not enough upgrades for me to buy it.

If they did give you an SD card it would be a low compacity one.
The battery is amazing, I ski all day at Whistler and I only need two, I used to need 5 or 6

It could be that you have newer one. Quite often and newer production runs they will change the packaging.
