I love how despite all the existential and s*xual horrors that this episode brought forth it balanced it with:
- the wholesomeness of A-Train's save scene.
- the pitch-perfect comedic performance of Sage with the cake nodding at Victoria repeatedly.
- the raw emotional moment when Hughie says "I'm not okay. I miss my dad." I wanted to hug him so badly.
- Kimiko's love and loyalty, not giving up on visiting Frenchie.

Whatever the endgame of this show holds, I know I’m gonna miss it so much when it’s over. It’s so good at so many nuanced things.

Adding the sexual sadism to the torture/murder, once Hughie is found out, just makes every moment of it so much more uncomfortable (to put it mildly) to bear.

You guys' reaction to the Tek Cave in this episode is exactly what most of Twitter thinks about it. Basically uncomfortable with a hint of levity (which even that is minimal. I'm ngl, I'm mostly the agree even though I've seen stuff like that alot (don't ask me how or why). With that said, I'll probably have a full opinion on this episode when the season ends, because right now it kinda feels out of place. Even with the revelations we found out about the impending end of the world. But to end on a positive note though, Laddio (the guy in red) is a real one for getting Tek Knight to crack.
I’m not a prude by any stretch, while I’m not into any of the kinks featured, they don’t bother me in the slightest, with that said, it felt excessive and unnecessary, almost pornographic, which, in the right context is fine, but didn’t feel needed here.
I understand. But I think what makes this in particular hard to watch isn't because it's pornographic, it's because it's way closer to reality. Like the Tek Cave is way more real in comparison to say the Termite S3 opener. @Russelshackleford

I personally feel that while the show is still very good, it's significantly worse than it was. Frenchie's whole story is very hack..."i found out I murdered my boyfriend's family" is some soap opera level shit tbh. And it feels like they're trying to one-up themselves in terms of shock value, but they don't actually have a reason for it tbh. The message is also much more "on the nose" which isn't a good thing--I know the show is not known for subtlety but they've abandoned any semblance of subtlety in their message.
Just like that Firecracker became the most valuable member of the 7.

I like the idea that in his obsession with killing Homelander, Butcher might of accidently unleashed a greater evil and probably just made himself the true villain.

Tek knight says that he and Homelander are the top two superheroes and smells the team up. This is not to the worlds, finest in Batman and Superman. Clark Kent sees Bruce Wayne as his equal one of his best friends, a keen, intellect, martial artist and very resourceful even though Batman cannot fly he even trust Bruce with a piece of kryptonite. Homelander belittles tek knight says that he is expendable and laugh at the fact he can’t even fly.

There are times when I watch this show when I truly believe it is peak superhero fiction, but sometimes I feel it gets too caught up with trying to outdo itself with the weird shit that happens. Hughie being assaulted like that was just really hard to watch. Especially since they were trying to play it off as comedic.
