Oleksandr Usyk is ready for his heavyweight debut.
The former undisputed cruiserweight king will face Chazz Witherspoon at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago on Oct. 12, live on DAZN. And the Ukrainian star can't wait.

Usyk can clean up the heavyweight division. Definitely the best and the most skillful fighter in the world, best stamina and iQ etc. But heavyweight divison is special, power of hevyweights is something else.. guy like wilder need only 1 punch and everything is over, usyk fight to score points but I'm not sure he can survive 12 rounds without damage against k.o monsters like wilder,joshua, ruiz,ortiz etc.. it will be very very interesting, I can't wait :D Spong is good for first opponent, tough and dangerous but no top class boxer. Excellent opponent for the first test in my opinion usyk will beat him.

I think a good way to tell is that Wilder will duck any opportunity to fight him. The level of discipline, skill, and determination you see in his training videos is much higher than a couple of the other heavyweights in the world. He also looks like a boxer, vs a guy pulled in off the street and set up just because no one else is around :/ He might actually have an easier time of Wilder than he would Fury or Joshua. In any event, the Ukraine has a great boxing pedigree!

@Josh warner Oh I'm definitely not an expert, but for what it's worth I don't disagree with you like you may think. I'm not saying and have NEVER said and would never say Deontay has no skill! 😅🤣😅 Of course that's LUDICROUS! As dumb as I can be at times, I'm not THAT dumb! What I mean to day is that Deontay, according to top trainers ok? not just my Opinion, for whatever that's worth, (it's mainly only valuable to me), has not got enough variety in his game, so he SEEMS LIKE a one dimensional Slugger. That's OK, he can be a Slugger, but someone like Fury is NOT going to let him get away with that. And he'll use dirty fighting to prove Deontay isn't ready to deal with being the world champion, who is usually such an elite boxer that he can disassemble a dirty fighter in short order. Deontay still can't do that. But he's working with George Foreman now, who might be able to help Deontay get it together. At least his mental game of nothing else because he's probably beat the shit out of himself a lot more than anyone knows. I think Deontay can come back and I know he can win. But he's got to see Tyson for who he really is in order to do it.

Ruiz maybe will fight him,Fury will get depressed and Wilder dont want to fight anyone who wants to fight him. Then they use all those american terms for chicken shit, ”ducking,cherypicking and so on”. Only change for Usyk to get to the belts is that he is the mandatory chalenger and that will make it little harder for all those chumps to avoid him.

He can probably beat Wilder and Joshua because of the styles, but I think if he ever fighta Fury it's gonna be a hard fight for him, Fury would just play smart and jab him out since he is 6'9 with a fast jab i can't see how he can catch him
That's something I would be ready to pay a lot to see. Both interesting fluid styles but is someone like Fury willed and humble enough to risk a fight with Usyk? Since he has seen his limits against Wilder he isn't interested into bigger names anymore - A match against Jarell Miller didn't worked, Whyte neither and I personally think Wilder is too dangerous for most people but the closest weight wise. My prediction is nobody will fight each other before they retire (only Ruiz-Joshua and Fury-Wilder II but we'll never see a Ruiz-Wilder, Joshua-Fury, Joshua-Wilder or Usyk-Wilder).
If a Wallin could trouble Fury , so can Usyk , at will and ease

Usyk is gonna pull the upset. Speed beats power, defense beats power. Usyk has a chin and has decent power and knows how to utilize his power Usyk loves to come forward and put pressure while not getting hit ONLY Loma and Usyk can do that, even tho Usyk is a small heavyweight he does have a reach Usyk loves to go to the body and counter, his combination to the body and uppercuts and counter are gonna be to much for AJ. AJ opponents never really threw any body punches idunno if he can take body punches from Usyk, Usyk loves to work the body and if he can tire out AJ he can KO AJ. If Usyk doesn't get to cocky and try to prove a point and bang with AJ than he has a chance, it's a heavyweight divison any punch can be a KO. People always complain and doubt Usyk every fight even the Bellew fight and he made him look easy in the fight, people say shit about Usyk being small but Mike Tyson was a small heavyweight but was dangerous and had power and good boxing skills, the haters were also saying parker was gonna KO Usyk but he couldn't, Usyk made him look like an amateur. AJ fans are saying AJ is gonna KO Usyk but now the fight is getting closer now they're saying AJ is gonna win by decision they know it's gonna be a hard fight for AJ, like be honest mostly AJ opponents were out of their prime, the only guy he fought thats in their prime is Ruiz, just because AJ outbox Ruiz in the second fight it doesn't make him the " greatest defensive boxer " it's takes time to master boxing defensively, you know what they say " don't try to outbox a defensive good boxer " you'll make yourself look like an amateur, AJ only thing to win in this fight is find his shots like he always does, move well, and keep jabbing and use your foot work alot, AJ this is his tough fight. Usyk fought guys in their prime and fought guys in his weight that walk around at heavyweight, and his heavyweight fight he took them shots well and he got hit by them clean punches and took them well and he also showed he can brawl with a heavyweight. Usyk well go to the body, counter alot and use his uppercuts and jab, he has a good jab for his reach, his footwork and he's to quick and fast for AJ and those punches he throws are too quick and he has a chin and he also has decent power if he knows how to use it right, he applys pressure while not getting hit so Usyk has more to win in this fight. Usyk well wins this fight by decision Usyk for the W.

I dont think he can take Wilder Jabs only. he maybe fast and have good footwork but he can't always dodge every punches and some punches might just connect we never know coz it's boxing.
All these Usyk fanboys had better wait to see if he can handle a punch from a legitimate heavyweight like Ortiz, Fury, White, or Joshua. And we are not even going to mention a punch from Ruiz or Wilder yet.
Usyk lacks the size in heavyweight division it will be a difficult transition.
