All of the products used in my videos are purchased on my own aside from the Make Art Station and some sequins. I was not paid for the creation of this video. I am affiliated with several companies which means that I make a small commission when you shop through the links at no cost to you.
I have many of these wide washi tapes. They make wonderful quick backgrounds. But a tip for shakers: foam tape is sticky along the edges so to keep the bits from sticking to it I use a paint brush dipped in baby powder to go all around the inside edges. It also prevents static from the acetate making sequins cling to the inside. I have also used my anti-static bag that I made with fabric and baby powder to dust the inside. I shake out and wipe the excess before I put in the bits and any extra disappears anyway when the bits move around, also preventing static build up.
Dear Justine, between you, Jennifer McGuire, Gina K, and Rina K, I’m going to the poor house! STOP THE MADNESS!!!!!!!! Everything y’all do, everything y’all have I too must do and have! I don’t know why, but today is the day I found you! And thank goodness! I think I’ve watched the others’ videos from oldest to newest! You are a breathe of fresh air! Love your work, thanks!
I’m glad you found me, welcome! Thanks for watching
Thank you for all the tips. I love shaker cards and sometimes feel a little overwhelmed when attempting to make them.
Very pretty cards! Cheers from 🇨🇦Calgary, Alberta🇨🇦
lovely cards great ideas need to get some alphabet dies in different sizes thanks for sharing your ideas kind regards Janine
Love those washi tapes!
Hello, Justine! Once again, SUPER video! LOVE, LOVE SHAKER CARDS!! And this “#10 Longer Version” is REALLY COOL! The WIDE WASHI is PERFECT~~and the Patterns are LOVELY! I just received a few WIDE WASHIS so I’m rarin’ to go to create some of my own cards! Your video is a FANTASTIC “jump start” for me~~SO THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I really appreciate the wide variety of “sequins, beads n’ gems” you’d shared along with the TERRIFIC tips for letter dies n’ placement ~~~especially getting them straight! TFS n’ HAPPY CREATIN’ n’ SHAKIN’!! Have a lovely day!! :-)
Have fun with those washi tapes! they are gorgeous!
I didn't even know you could get wide Washi tapes. I must try them, I love all your cards.
They are a lot of fun, especially for a decorating gift wrap that coordinates with your card
Gosh, that washi tape is so pretty. Defiantly getting some. I absolutely love the thin alphabet card. It is so cool. You come up with some really lovely shaker cards.
If you glue the letters on the envelope really well it will definitely go through the mail. If you worry they can’t read it well enough, you can put the postage, name and address on the back then decorate the front. The post office doesn’t care on which side the envelope closes. I send decorated envelopes all the time. It’s amazing what they will accept. In some places extra postage is needed for interesting designs. For instance, I’ve send a letter envelope with the address turned 90 degrees. I’m Canada no extra charge but in the USA I think m it’s more just like a square envelope.
Very pretty! Tgank you for all your tips and technics. Love Washi Tape and these are beautiful!
These are so fun Justine - now I need some wide Washi and a Make Art Stay-tion!!
Such fun things to have - the make art station is really useful. I pull it out more and more these days
Beautiful and cool !🌸
Absolutely beautiful!
The cards look amazing.
gorgeous cards. love them!
Beautiful shakers. Love the name shakers. They add such a personnel touch. Thanks for sharing.
Now I want large washi tape. Thanks this was great.
I wondered how the wide Washi tape would be used, pretty cards. I’ve never created a shaker card, you sure make it look easy. Thanks Justine.
Thanks for a fabulous video tutorial. I have some of these washi tapes. You've inspired me to give this a try!
Super cool idea and who wouldn't love a shaker card with their name on it...I could see that for any ages! Great inspiration!
Yes or the age number on a 5x7 card works nicely too
Beautiful cards!
Fabulous cards Justine! I have several of these washi tapes and I struggle with ideas using them, this was a great inspiration!! And on a side note...thanks for sharing how you store the washi tapes, I had an extra mini ink tray and now I have a great way to store these washi tapes and keep them from rolling around in my Alex drawer!!
I store embossing powder in them too
@@justinehovey me too! But the washi tape was brilliant!
I would absolutely put one of these on my desk at work! So much prettier than my current name tag. A great use of those big washi’s ❤️
Wow, gorgeous card Justine! Thanks for sharing x
The wide washi tapes are absolutely gorgeous and the shaker bits just blow it out of the water! Stunning!!!
I love your desk mat with the measurements. Where can I find that? Thanks for the great tutorial!
Inspired! thank you Justine.
Thank you for this tutorial Justine as I purchased some of these Altenew tapes, because so pretty. And had no idea what I might do with them. Now I am enthused to make some cards and panels for my scrapbooking too. Many thanks 🥝🇳🇿👍👏🥳
You can use them to wrap around gifts too! I wrap presents and then put on the tape as a decoration. Then it matches the cards too
Beautiful cards Justine. Thank you.
Fantastic!! I love wide Washi tape because it makes super quick cards!
Love the washi tape.
Just LOVE this idea - #10 size for personalized cards is just a splendid idea. Can’t wait to get down to my craft from and bust out the dies and shaker elements. Thank you for this inspiration.
Thanks so much!
Love the Altenew wide washi too - thanks for showing another creative way to use it!!

Love Altenew wide Washi, I have several as well. These cards are so lovely!!!
Wonderful cards! Thanks for all The tips.
Thank you Justine! These are beautiful!!
Wow your cards are beautiful!! Absolutely love the wide washi!! Thankyou for sharing!!
Love these beautiful cards and products!
This is a great idea for bookmark! I’m going to make some for family & friends using heavy cardstock for backing! Thanks for sharing your technique 😍
Great idea!
Guess who finally watched her card get made? LOL Can confirm, it's gorgeous and mails really well!
Awesome cards! I have trouble using sequins & beads because they aren't recyclable. I try to use confetti made from cardstock. Earth friendly "acetate" will be a game changer too.
Sharon R, I’m surprised they haven’t made an acetate from that stuff they make biodegradable plastic cups out of. I think it’s a corn based bio plastic, and it does well for cold drinks. Don’t think one could heat emboss that stuff, though. 🤔
Cool!!!! Love what you did! Must give this a try!
Paper Hugs,
Jan
Beautiful cards. I never think of that size card. Envelopes are readily available too. Thanks.
Very nice....I love them
Thanks for all the great tips
Beautiful cards ❤️
Very nice tutorial. Lots of great info. :-) TFS.
Stunning cards! I will have a go as well! I love the Make Art stay-tion! Mine arrived a couple of weeks ago but haven’t had a chance yet to play with it 🙂
Love these. I’ve been dying to get these wide washis!😍
They are so fun!
Love these. What a great idea!
love these so cute
Thank you...this is such a fab idea! Beautiful cards
What is the appropriate card stock weight for a base and the card itself? Thank you.
Thank you for a very concise and informative video - love all the cards, they are so pretty.
Very nice..thanks
Pretty cards! Patterned paper could take the place of washi? What is the advantage of the wide washi Justine? Thank you!
Of course you can use patterned paper. I don’t really own any. No specific advantage. I just think the washi is gorgeous and it’s semi transparent so layering over coloured cardstock is fun too
Great tutorial on A10's. I love all of these cards and now wide washi tape is on my very long wish list. :) But I do have a question - why does your cutting plate for your Gemini look brand new - how are you doing that?
I just switched mine out actually, probably why it looks new
Ok, I feel better now! Mine look atrocious, haha!
Such beautiful cards. I'll have to try something similar (unfortunately my budget doesn't include $20 washi)
Hey Justine hope you don’t mind this Canuck putting in two cents. How about using that sticky drawer liner... it’s even available at the dollar store. Comes in floral wood grain and some geometric. Even from Walmart it would be a budget saver. Put the beautiful washi on your wish list for later. 😉🇨🇦
You can simply used patterned paper!
True very true 😉
Loved the video! And the cards are amazing. :)
Love these I wish they were not so expensive, on your Sequences holder. Does it hold the whole package of sequences?
A whole package of pretty pink posh yes
You don’t have to buy all the name brand stuff used that you see in the video. And don’t forget, Michael’s and Joann’s coupons you could use to lower the cost on certain items.
Fab cards
Tyfs. I love this. New subbie here.
Welcome, thanks for subbing!
