IMPORTANT INFO ➡️ 1. You can use squat shoes on leg press to help get more range of motion, however, let’s be real. Most people aren’t bringing squats shoes to the gym.
2. You can do reverse banded hack squats to even out the resistance profile of the exercise. But again let’s be real, MOST people aren’t doing that. I like to do it, but this video isn’t covering that.
3. Sissy squats - WATCH MY SISSY SQUAT VIDEO - It will show how you can progress them. They take practice. They are my favorite quad exercise.
4. Are there other great exercises for the quads? Yes, but these are all you would ever need.
Barbell squats didn’t make the list? No. Although they’re a great exercise and obviously can help you grow your quads, they are not the best when compared to a leg press, hack squat, and pendulum squats.
With squats, there are many potential outside factors that can cause your quads to not get the best stimulus for growth. For instance, maybe your low back gets tired before your quads do, and as a result, your form breaks down. Issues like this are not of concern with the exercises shown in this video.
I am not saying “never do barbell squats”. I think it’s a great thing for every lifter to be proficient at them. You can get very good results from them.

Nice
Do one for hamstrings
fuck me bro, you know so much about the human body you can become a doc.
Did your leg workout today. Haven’t felt any pain yet. But I know it’s coming 😭
Please do one for glutessss please
Regular squats: **i’m a joke to you 😢**
Regular squats don’t actually emphasize the quads as much as you’d think. Johnny Shreve has a video about quads as well where he discussed why. Hack squat is definitely way better if your purpose is to target quads as hard as possible. Regular squats are still a top 3 leg exercise though.
@@Joseph69923 regular squads are nice, I do them every legday
Best squat is hack squat
Not everyone can do regular squats.
Barbell squats are an amazing movement for so many reasons. They can be used to grow your quads obviously. I think everyone who lifts and is able to - should be proficient at them. But there are better options purely from a quad building perspective 🍻
My knees left the chat for that first one.
It's good for your knees. Bending is their function you know. Just don't use too much weight
Bending your knee beyond your toes is how you make them strong af
Listen to ur body and dont push ur joints too much.
@@eliteguard225 don’t use too much weight like it isn’t a body weight exercise 💀
Same I have arthritis lol
bro finally got his shirt back
🤣
Lol
Because its legday lol
Too bad Pendulum Squat is extremely rare where Im from. Havent seen one in any gym I have trained.
Same
My gym has one, and a pullover machine, its like being in a anabolic candy store
@@thejuiciestofallthehams8130 looks like I'm moving
I know.. it’s amazing. Hack squats and leg presses will do the trick though.
Same. Never seen that before
These edits are sick
Wishing them a speedy recovery 🙌😔
@@bruh_gains3073llmao 😂
Your content is literally Netflix level man 🔥🔥
Haha thank you bro ✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Cringe
😂😂😂😂😂
@@DavisDiley that was an insult 😔
Man insulted him
Whoever edits your videos needs a raise!!
In every single video he always has the freshest shoes on
it’s always forces wym 😭😭
@@Mark-kq6yethose are jordans kid

Bro was doing the DIO wryyyy pose 💀
JOJO MOMENT
I love how his exercises are so intense they absolutely massacre you when you try them out. You a hard one bro
Regular squats : “ And where did that lead you? Right back to me 😈 “
loving the top 5 exercise series so far, very educational and informative 💯
Honestly for beginners and intermediate lifters I believe these might just be the best videos out there to improve rapidly. No BS, actual effort during reps, biomechanics explained, and enough exercises to build a full workout on when you begin 👌🏽
@@joshhampton6511 what do i do if i have 0 of these machines at the end
@@oreos2653 For the pendulum squat unfortunately it is quite difficult to find any similar variation that involves free weights or another machine but for the hack squat what I would recommend is smith machine squats trying to replicate the range of motion as much as you can. As for the leg press it’s surprising that a gym wouldn’t have that 😲 go for regular barbell squat and you should be fine
@@joshhampton6511 yea but i dont have any of them at my house
@@oreos2653 oh snap props to you man 🤝🏽, I personally never found the courage to workout at home, the gym is more convenient IMO, try to find ways to make body weight exercises more challenging if you can cuz I know building a home gym can be super expensive and as for the exercices, try to find forums where people who are more adept than I am can help you out. Good luck on your fitness journey brother 😁
dude.....this is the best short video I've watched in a while
They way you highlight the muscles in all of your videos is just so right
Wow, best video guides I’ve ever seen. Not even exaggerating. I’ve had this idea for the longest time, showing a digital pic of the muscle AND fibers over a vid of the actual thing. Obviously you’d have to have someone ripped enough which you guys do. Excellent work 👏🏼
Best Fitness UA-camr💯
Tom Platz watching this video: 😢
I love how he explained everything with all his hard work, this deeply 🙌🏻
totally agree with this list, I include every one already in my training. Our gym finally got a pendulum and it is a beast🔥
Started trying to do sissy squats last week because they’re apparently good for strengthening your knees and mine are pretty weak, gotta say it’s one of the most difficult exercises I’ve tried to do
Tip for the hack squat: Put a resistance band on it to even the resistance out. Pretty sure you showed this before
Davis thank you for putting in the time and effort to make these Reel masterpieces. I’ve had to screen record most of your reels because I just couldn’t find that level of tailored and complete content catering to my fitness needs and goals!
Destroying the competition with the edits on these shorts my boy! Definitely an under appreciated # of subs
I want to see this guy's knees when he gets old. Hopefully the exercise actually keeps them strong and healthy, and doesn't wear them out.
i’m pretty sure if you don’t lock your knees then you should be fine for the most part. idk for sure though
Those are exercises for knee flexion. Of course they strengthen the knees.
@@Shvabicu lots of info out there about leg extensions being bad for the knees though
@@dontakeshit that "info" is outdated
@@creedstump0662 locking out your knees is fine they’re literally made to do so
Bro was hitting that DIO Brando pose to build those part 1 quads
The best video edits, production, and tutorials I’ve seen thus far. Impressive.
Hey Davis Diley thanks a lot for your great content. I love watching your videos .
Thanks, i cant go to the gym yet cause im only 13 but this will be helpful in the future
You can go to the gym even if you are 13
@@justduro1527 not in my country, here 14 is the limit
You can and its great to see someone your age not just showing up at the gym and trying to swing heavy weights.
Keep watching this guy, Jonni Shreves, and John Meadows and you will be smarter and better prepared than 97% of the people you see at the gym. There are others but these three will keep you on the right path.
@@RamJamDee damn that sucks
But hey you can still do bodyweight exercises like calisthenics
@@justduro1527 i work out with dumbells we fortunately have those at home but we dont have any machines which is what i really miss
The quality of your shorts are impeccable. Keep up Mr. Diley!
Dang you have some nice equipment at that gym what gym is that?
I’ve been waiting for this one.
Thank you for every single video you teach us ❤
it sounded like he said BEHOLD when introducing the sissy squat and it matched so well with the video, the bgm, and his voice 💀
Ur literally outta this world, best teacher everrr❤❤❤
Your Videos are the Bomb! Thanks A Trillion!
Btw is the sissy squat also good for making an familiar pose with your arms out and your knees slightly bent?
That sissy squat looking like a defeated villain 💀
Regular squats is all I need. 👌🏻
Bro helped me revise whole thigh anatomy
What if we do SQUATS only for legs?
They can be very good. Not the best, but good. I think all lifters should be proficient at them. I actually cover this in my pinned comment in some greater detail.
This video is strictly looking at quad growth. I think barbell squats have so many amazing benefits outside of that
Squats are good to build your legs but in the lung run you will have some underveloped muscles thats why is good to do more legs exercises than only squats
Thanks DD
Would you consider barbell lunges as a good quad builder?
I like bulgarian splits more than lunges for a single leg excercise, but hack squats are where it's at
@@shlekmirkarin6429 I do bulgarians and hack squat, just considering lunges as a finisher
@@bushquotient i'd rather add leg extensions or leg press as a finisher. I warm up with light leg extensions and curls and finish with heavy extensions and curls. But it's just what works for me best from a hyperthrophy standpoint. Nice vault boy
@@shlekmirkarin6429 I know it's a bit late but thanks, I'm now using leg extensions
@@bushquotient no problem man, don't forget to measure strength and size to compare which excercise works best for you
The editing for these videos are amazing
I am quad dominant squatter and i simply do close stance pause squats for maximum strength
Wish I was like you. My glutes take over too much 😭
молодец!!
People who skips leg day
👇🏻
Bro 😭
Not me 😎
@@DavisDiley Thank you for all the tips you give, a lot of my workout routine is the way it is thanks to you! Watching your channel educated me on a lot of exercises I didn’t know about, keep up the great content :))
Sorry bro, i refuse to have chicken legs
So helpful thanks
your channel is dooope , u make it soo easy to learn how to use the gym properly and work the right muscles, thanks!
Thanks man much appreciated 🙏
Taking the vids to the next level with the editing, well done.
Bro is a titan
Goated video as always
I like this video because he actually makes it look difficult
Sissy Squats are SO UNDERRATED!!!🤯
The content is on another level 💥
Good to see him on a shirt
Davis has one of the best physic
I’ve tried all but nothing can beat the regular squats if done it correctly ❤
Amazing content thank you ❤
Doing high bar squats as deep as you can is probably the best quad builder out there, and then doing one of the other squats, and one of the isolations after it.
I love your content!
Gahdamn Davis, you’re built like a tank video game character . So inspirational king 👑
Thanks
So short simple and smart!
I love what u doing for us bro ❤️ 🇬🇪
Love the editing on ur videos
This gotta be your best video yet
this music is fenomenal!
I can def say leg extension is valid. All I ever hit and it def shows. 150 reps of 225-245lbs
Love the new style
I love your new editing style
Leg extension is honestly my favourite leg exercise ever. That’s a pure demonstration of strength and stamina and it makes your quads as big as horse’s legs
I thought they were very hard on the knees
wish my gym had some of these machines 😢
Best muscle video in the world.
Pendulum squads make me contemplate my life with every set 💀
Wish my gym had these leg machines
Wow loving your videos
Thank u so much
I love your videos bro, you do a great job 👍🏾👌🏾
Right on✊️
why are these videos so well edited
Great motivation as usual
This short and clear amazing bro
Edite are insane ur editor is godly🔥🔥🤌🤌
Thx for the advice
This is awesome
Great visualisation 👍
Honestly I discovered my true potential with my quads when I started doing hack squats! My legs all around got stronger, looked better I was able to squat more all because of the hack squat machine
Omg I love this man🥴
Next level edits man
Hey I’ve been following you for a while I am 53 years old I’ll be 54 at the end of the month I’ve been training for 20 some odd years may be close to 30 I’ve been all different weights 225 and shredded 265 and scary
I just had two stents put in my heart and I am going back to the gym next week any suggestions on what or how I should train I probably weigh around 245 pounds right now I’d like to stay between 245 and 255. By the way you are extremely inspirational to my son who was very overweight last December and now he is starting to come into his own he’s lost 30 pounds and starting to put some muscle on
My knees hurt just by looking at this video.
Top notch quality video.
Editing skills next level
Great videos well done
Bulgarian split squats are definitely up there too
Dudes often think that you can bias certain parts of the quads but turning your feet in or out. Not really, as 3/4 of the quad muscles don't attach to the hips whatsoever, where the function of feet turning comes from (by contrast most of the hamstrings attach to the hip, so this method can work for them.) Peak midrange tension especially biases the VL (the sweep,) and deep stretch biases the VMO (teardrop.) Keep in mind "bias" doesn't mean isolate, everything else is still working hard.
Lunges, BSS, and other single-leg exercises are hax af for this reason. Midrange and lengthened tension are high, and the rec fem of the back leg gets stretched tremendously. I'd almost call single-leg exercises a necessity tbh, but that relates to leg growth in general, not quads specifically.
Your feet can turn left and right through tibia rotation
Daahmm sick cinematography
I started sweating by simply watching. 😅 That’s how I know the intensity is super real. Thank you for the video. 🙌🏾
I didn’t know pendulum squats were a thing that’s lit
*me sending this to myself for later*
