I have kept the series of these books for 40 years. Thanks to these books I became an English teacher. I have seen many English books during my studies but I have never seen better than these. I appreciate to your dad. He is really a genius.
"Starting Out" was my very first English book. I was 15. I remember when I used to study English at the high school as an accauntant and this was not only my English book, but also a very great friend of mine because today I am 52 and I have still got this book on my book case. Thank you very much indeed my "Starting Out".
Wonderful to hear this again. Tony Robinson as Authur Newton! I was part of the team working for OUP in the 1980s on this project The cassettes were made in Dewsbury, England
I have tried so hard to find something like this! I've learned from it and remember every single bit and lesson! Thank you. Your father was a genious ! My God, this is the best method without a doubt. I wish I could buy the books. I'd buy them all !
I just found out, that this series has got 3 parts. I used the second book in college 30 years ago and give it away to s friend, who start the college in september. I'm thrilled to listen the whole story!

(I hesitated whether to upload the audio material or not, but I felt an urgent need for it! :) Please, let me know if you feel that your (father's) author's rights are violated! I would rather buy all of the the original books CDs and everything for my pupils. There are cultural elements there of a Britain which is the Britain I loved with the stereotypes and the characteristics that aroused my curiosity to know it in depth. Is there such a Britain today, I wonder...

I used to study English with this book back in the 90s!!! I loved it and I now work as an English teacher in Kiev, Ukraine
