Awesome skill at decorating and it’s so beautifully bright.
I find baking, then making the buttercream and then decorating all on the same day quite tedious and all that standing exhausting.
How do you plan and store the cake and decorating timeline do you do it the same day.
Also I really want to practice my piping skills with different nozzles so do I need to bake a cake or I can practice on dummy cake
So once I am confident then I can decorate using the right design n nozzle

When I bake a cake for my kids birthday I bake it the morning day before and decorate in the night and finish up in the morning of the birthday. Otherwise I bake on day 1, decorate on day 2 and consume on day 3 at the latest. I don't leave the cakes we consume in the fridge as I don't ever use a frosting that requires refrigeration (example whipped cream). I use my kids cakes as an example because I don't sell cakes. The cakes I use for practicing or demos I keep refrigerated or frozen and use when needed. I scrape the buttercream I used to practice, then refrigerate the cake. We call them zombie cakes in the baking community haha. Then I reduce baking time and save on costs too.
I must say I used the tulip Russian tip, a few were ok then the buttercream got a bit soft
Do you use the same recipe of 250 gms salted butter and 500 gms icing sugar with vanilla n milk for Russian tips too or you used some shortening with the butter to keep the consistency stiff for piping Russian tips
@@yolandamascarenhas7062 I use both my Silky Buttercream 1:1 butter to icing sugar and also my Smooth Buttercream 1:2 butter to icing sugar for the Russian tips. I alternate depending on the weather. The Smooth Buttercream is too thick and stiff in winter so I use my Silky buttercream for the Russian tips. In summer if it's too hot I then use the Smooth Buttercream or the one with shortening. The one with shortening goes firmer the day after so it's great for hot weather and piping with Russian tips.
