    As a Mongolian who has lived in Australia for 7 years the Waltzing Matilda part totally reflects my thoughts about this beautiful, vast country. Australia has magestic beaches, mountains and plains. I love this country and its kind people

    Very beautiful sounding. Reminds me of hiking to the to of a tall mountain in the Himalayas, meeting an old wise man with a long white beard at the top, and him giving me many words of wisdom.

      @@maighdeanachniluanaigh5149 Hello! I dont know what you mean by waxed? It may be because you need to put rosin on the bow. After some time, it will apply to the strings when you play. But don’t worry if it doesn’t sound right, it will get much better over time.

      1) If you are not in Mongolia, perhaps the best option is online. There are various online sites you can search. a. Steven Morel, b. Morin-Huur.com site, c. Mongulai
      2) If you are unable to find someone in your area who's a Morin Khuur musician, then internet, books, videos, etc....you could also try to find someone in a university who might focus on Mongolian studies.
      3) Agreed. His playing is definitely soothing.
      I'm also thinking of learning Morin Khuur.

      You should definitely learn this. The Mongolic Morin Khuur and the Turkic Kobyz are the direct ascendants of all the bowed instruments. Even violin.
      Turkic and Mongolic people are the first fiddlers on earth!

    There seems to be so much sadness in the timbre of this instrument... kind of reminds me of a cello but just higher in register (more like perhaps a violin?). It's like a grandparent trying to teach they younger ones about life with zero sugar coating... that's the feel I get.
