Thanks for the useful information shared in this video Jarret. A buddy of mine and I are starting our own small law firm in a few months and your video really proved helpful. You definitely deserve way more subscribers. Thanks again!
Your videos are such a blessing. I'm working on a website that amongst other will help lawyers work remotely. Your videos will serve as a great tool to the betterment of future lawyers. I am grateful that I came across your channel. ❤️
@@mackinyoungin I did build one however my skills at the time were just not sufficient to create a good enough app to get people to sign up... thankfully though my skills have increased substantially and I'm now in a position to create a proper platform but now I do not have the time/money to do so.
Thank you for being so transparent. Your videos are really helpful. Is there a reason you chose to use Google, Excel, etc... over one of the practice management software like Clio and MyCase? I'm assuming cost, since you promote balling on a budget which I totally support! Why pay more when you can pay less!
Haha you’re spot on! Based on my needs, I’ve learned that organization is everything. So taking the time to create my own filing system and using tools like Excel to organize everything has been great for me. I plan on showing my approach in a video. I’ve just been putting it off as I test some things out 😅
Thank you very much. One question - in your client contract, do you have a consent clause so that your email communication, e-signing of documents, and e-faxes and cloud storage are all covered? I am very concerned about cuber security when it comes to a virtual firm, even I have one myself too. Many thanks.
I don’t have a clause like that because I don’t share the same level of concern. Yes, cyber security is important and I do everything that I can to protect files. I just don’t think a consent clause would be necessary and may cause the potential client paranoia reading it. But it’s all about your subjective situation
@@LawVenture Thank you so much. I finished this play list in a matter of two days! Happy new year to you and your family. I forwarded this play list to my partner. We started our respective solo practice, virtually, six years ago and now pretty much merged together. It has been wonderful. The team keeps growing and now virtual collaboration and cyber security are our top priority. We will certainly keep following your contents as they are so helpful. Happy new year!
@@LawVenture Could you please do an episode on cloud storage for virtual law practices. As i was saying earlier, confidentiality and cyber security are my top concerns. Today I heard a concept called “zero knowledge” for cloud storage. Basically it provides an additional encryption for files on the cloud so that even the cloud service provider can NOT view the content of the files. This cloud is called pCloud. Very similar setting to dropbox but dropbox hasn’t started implementing zero-knowledge just yet. And according to Dropbox’ announcement last year in November or December, the zero-encryption will only be available to business plan users (which is at least $15/month/user). pCloud, a new company from Switzerland, has zero-knowledge option for their family plans. Also, pCloud has lifetime onetime payment option. So for small virtual practices, this may be the pain killer for the file confidentiality concerns when it comes to cloud storage. This is what I got so far but I am sure there is more to it. Would really appreciate you doing an episode on this. Thanks a lot!

Hey @katlehokomeke - did you ever set this up?

Very good ideas. Especially the forms.
Glad you think so 🙏
