- This is one of my favorite rides and it always feels a little bit crazy to ride through Breckenridge Ski Resort to get to the top of Peak 10, to an elevation of 13,639 feet above sea level.
I counted 22 total switchbacks, and this is only once you leave the resort! I don't think there is another place in the state with that many switchbacks in a row, but I could be wrong. In my opinion, the last 10 switchbacks to the peak are the best in Colorado. It's an out and back, which I don't usually love, but Peak 10 is special. Once you get to the top you don't want to leave. The final climb up the last 10 switchbacks starts just after the 4-minute mark.
When I reach the top you can see my temperature gauge blinking HOT!
And my low gas light just came on.
Great stuff!
Thanks!
This one is going on the to do list.
Don't miss it!
What time of year was this? Great ride.
Also, what might help with the temps is getting a lower degree fan switch. I put one on mine and it seems to make a difference.
This was in September. I'll have to check out the fan switch, thanks for the info!
