OMG, I lost my dad to suicide too, a bit older. Never new this about you and Rebelution, but I've listened your music for years for a reason. May you have peace and, yes, you've helped me thru a lot of dark times. Thank you.
Eric, I'm a mental health nurse and your music has always resonated with me! After watching this I understand a little of where it comes from, thanks for being open and honest, you are a force of good and light! I love your art all the more, thanks for the positive vibes!
Rebelution opened up an entire new universe to me and my boyfriend. No matter how hard things get roots reggae music is all we will ever need. I owe my life to this music. It made me a better person! Forever grateful!!!!!
I remember going backstage with an acoustic after Rebelution played at the Bottom Lounge in Chicago in 2014, I don't think I'd ever been more happy or excited in my life, I couldn't even contain my energy hahah, I jumped non-stop during the show and hugged Eric when I saw him (unannounced, sorry for the surprise man)... I went through some extremely dark times and severe depression for many years and their music kept me alive....despite being an overly hyper kid who randomly hugged him and started playing guitar for him, he listened to me intently and was so kind...accepting and nonjudgmental. To this day its one of my happiest memories, wish I could have expressed my gratitude in words rather than frenetic energy...I was completely overwhelmed with joy and genuine happiness...the kind of happiness that can only come from getting to listen to and meet people who help you heal from your most difficult hardships. Thank you for leaving such a powerful positive impact on me, making me strive to be a kinder, better person..thank you
You HAVE saved a life!!! The second you started within! Refusing to be fated an outcome far from the one you are worthy of, that's the exact moment you saved your own life Eric!!! I'm so grateful you did that! I met you in Knox Tenn... saw you again in Nashville. I'm so proud top be such a huge fan and to say my 6yr old is as well!
I met you once and told you I found yall the day my son was being born and that your music was one of the only things that would calm him down.. I felt the positive aura coming off you as i walked up to you like I've never felt before. You literally turned away from a pack a fangirls so I could tell you that story. A memory I'll never forget. Thankyou.
wow wow wow! Thaanks Sugarshack for bringing this to us. And thank you Eric for your music! I am many of those that your music has helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. It's literally made me see life a different way!
My sons good friend is your horn player Eric and the groups they hung with had allot of people fall to the ills of society. Way more than any 20 something should. My wife and I love your music and as an educator thank you for resonating with those that us adults have a hard time with
Never would’ve expected Eric to have the story he did. Hard to think someone with so much positivity could struggle with depression. Really inspires me and gives me hope to be a better version of myself 🤙
Thank you Eric for your story. I need to talk about mine more instead of hiding it away. I still struggle with loss in my life and how to cope. I lost one of my twin boys at 22 months old and my self and my family are still trying to get through this everyday. Your music is so inspiring. Cant wait for this acoustic show in Portland Oregon
It probably sounds cliche to Rebelution at this point but they stopped me from doing any permanent damage. It's good to hear that I'm not alone and next time I go to one of their concerts it will feel even more at home then what it does now. I'm always afraid to talk to anyone. I'm always afraid no one will understand what I carry with me. But now I know. Thankyou Eric. Thankyou Sugarshack. Thankyou Rebelution. ❤
ALL LOVE BROTHER!!! Your music has had such a profound, positive impact on my life at a time that I really needed to hear that I wasn't alone in my experience of unconditional love & understanding. Thank you for being an integral piece of my journey! 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Today's reggae movement from artist to fans is the greatest evolution of humanity I know of. The only noticeable physical difference is the enlarged cardiothoracic region to accommodate those big hearts and most notably the absence of the gene that makes artist turn into pompous self centered untouchable assholes. These guys keep it real. It's easy to see and the love is magnetic. I wonder if that's the One Love thingy...😌 ❤💛💚
Eric is a light, I’d love to be a light like him one day.
Re-watching this series. So glad I am. Great pick me up. Thank you. Eric is such a beautiful soul.
Much love💚💛❤
