Well thank you :) I designed and did the comping on this main title in 1998 when I worked at PerFX. It was a pleasure to work with Roland Emmerich on this piece.
Funny how I loved this movie when I was a kid (and I still love it), yet I learned only years later that it bombed hard when released. Oh well, who cares about the critics, if a movie is good for the viewer, then it's all that matters.
I don't care if people hated this movie, Zilla will always be part of my childhood. It was the movie that got me liking movie monsters, and I'm gald of that. Now, when I'm older, I can still watch the movie with happiness, even though the rest of the movie, without Zilla, is just plain boring. But it was part of my childhood, and I'm glas I found Godzilla. All because of the crappy american remake. See, some good can come from it :) And this intro is just badass. I LOVE it.
The intro was actually more faithful than 2014 because like 1954 it shows how a monster was created with American H-tests, and the soundtrack makes it sound sinister and not ripping off Batman Begins like in 2014
@@Lord_Elron ditto. When I was watching the changes to it, I was laughing and was all 'Wait, what???' I didn't like Godzilla 2014 but Godzilla 2019 was amazing. Still no matter how amazing those movies are and how accurate the original Godzilla is, this movie will always be my favorite.
My guy if you're gonna argue g98 had a better intro at least acknowledge the test footage ISN'T meant to be American, it's the French. Obviously the footage itself is American but in the movie itself it's France
Notice that altough in the movie they are talking avout French nuclear testing, the footage of the explosions themselves are from USA nuclear testing....and one more interesting fact is that the explosion you see at 2:08-2:34 was underwater test called Baker,and since it was underwater detonation, there ofcourse wasnt that blinding lighy, you would normally see from nuclear explosion Also some scenes here were from Castle Bravo test at 1:42-1:48 and 2:44. But awesome intro nonetheless =)

Not only it was amazing in the movie that a Iguana egg survived that hug explosion its also amazing how something so big could grow from something that small 😮

i used this to test the 1.2.5 explosives + mod on minecraft. on this update, they added mushroom clounds. it exploded at the exact same time as the first nuke in this sequence, and my screen went white. then it crashed.
I wish they had used the logo from the movie's theatrical trailer (i.ytimg.com/vi/SMJIpoLZAhc/maxresdefault.jpg) also for the movie's opening scene at 0:18 too.
Honeslty people arent giving enaugh credit to it,, that movie is good,, its not icredible,, but its a good movie,, im not saying its deep thinker masterpiece,, its a good entertaining movie ..
