The idea of following your passion re-invigorates me. I am reminded of my free-wheeling travel days. Sustainability seems to be the way forward. It worked in the past for many K's. Thanks for the fun experiences to watch. You folks are super at going with the flow- climbing the waterfall was awesome. I hope you find your niche, in an amazing world.❤
I love this channel. I think it most mirrors sailing Zatara. Unlike many of these sailing channels, your spends very little time on commentary and video of you talking, and much more time on the adventure. The viewer feels like they are a part of your adventure. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for the feedback! Yes I do these episodes #1 for my kids to have someday. So I want to document it as it was not to impress my audience💗 I’m so happy you enjoy them as well.
Yes the cougars was a really good moment, brought down by another fave show dumping a baby Carver being “ aged out “ by and older but equally handsome actor😂 Love y’all. Thanks
The Dominican Republic did not disappoint, with its prolific flora, markets, and enterprises. At 12:18 it's a "beautiful waterfall". A beautiful family, too. Nice dance routine, gals. I enjoy your "workout/hike/walk/climb"s (14:09), exploring the untrodden places. Natural beauty is best. That chocolate mill was an interesting experience. "Wow" to Malia at 22:51. The fellas are cool surfer dudes on the beach. Hope the _Pancakes_ gets well soon.
Ha ha ha ha!!!! I was just watching the rerun and caught that "cougars live in bars and hit on your dad" line!!! There goes my coffee all over my keyboard!!! Too funny!!! 🤣😂🤣😂
I Just Love Watching Your Videos!!! I Also Follow Sailing With Six and Sailing Zatara!!! Your Videos are Always Edited Well, Great Material, Keeps your Interest, Interesting Places. Makes My Day And I Always Look Forward To The Next Adventure!!!! Keep em' Coming!!!
This made my heart so happy! Thanks a million!!! I do my best with the not so great footage I have (and that can be hard) so your kind words mean a lot. Thank you for your support💗
Yay!! I finally got to my Saturday morning albeit Saturday afternoon coffee and Sailing Banana Pancakes video and it was worth the wait but the anticipation was killing me! That flight was awesome! I don't think there is anything more beautiful than Malia's smile when it is her happy smile! Mom of four? I am not buying that! Sister of Malia maybe but no mother of four looks that magnificent! Ok, enough ogling, you really do have a beautiful family and I favor Easton's wild side! All the boys are adventuresome though and that is great! Pink salt can be like the mild colored Himalayan pink salt that is nice as a table salt but beware there is also a pink curing salt that is used for curing meats and is very powerful and not for human consumption. 13:20 Malia the beast!! lol I love the narration and the beautiful scenery. You educate us with the islands and things like the cocoa process. You are kind to the locals and so much fun! I always smile and laugh watching you guys videos. I wonder if you should have considered that boat and named yourselves Sailing Lemon Pancakes? 😂 I do love me some Sailing Banana Pancakes! You guys rock! Thanks for taking us along! The countdown to Saturday begins... 💞⛵⛵⛵
Best feedback ever! Malia really came alive when we made it to the DR. In 2 episodes she really comes alive😜 Thank you for the mom compliments I’ll take them haha And yes I think Sailing Lemons would fit so much better!!!🤪
Thanks for the video! I love the waterfalls. Trying to climb the first one looked fun! I’m happy your kids get to experience what they get to experience. It’s one thing to learn about different places in books, it’s another to actually visit those places. When the family goes back out on the water is there anywhere you guys would really want to visit? Are there any experiences that you haven’t had that you would like to have?
Yes these experiences were the best! When we get back on the water we are hoping to cross to the South Pacific. We really want to do more spear fishing and water things💗
Only once was i in the DR. Cayo Levantado. Lot of rain & wind, only cleared off for sun & calm for the last 3 days before returning home. That was 2010
2:40 You need a thing called SEPAR. That's both the name of the device - it separates water from the fuel, and the brand name of the most famous manufacturer. Install it NOW. Hydrolock is NO joke. The sound of broken pushrods going through the engine block is fun though.
Great video. My son has been to the DR on vacation and loved it. Thanks for showing the non-tourist side. I'm looking forward to next week. Who in the family made it the highest on the waterfall wall?
The Dominican Republic was our favorite place! We loved the non-tourist things and the overall culture. I’m pretty sure Easton made it the furthest. He is our wild man
@@SailingBananaPancakes Samson and Tarzan had long hair. Just keep him safe and watch who he becomes (LOL). Good luck, Mom and Dad. Great video, as usual.
Harry here again from Norwich 🇬🇧, I use a Sony Action Cam and always have 19:6 screen recording, I see you use a GoPro which has similar properties to the Sony, but there seems to be a mix of screen sizes. Some full width, some square and I guess the portrait view is a mobile. So are you just filming with the GoPro and mobile phone? I think it would be better if you could film in full screen 19:6 throughout, but hey, I am no expert. What I find interesting is your boys are much older than SLV boys and you have to educate them. I was wondering if SLV would put them into school for more interaction with other children, but seeing how your family works, I see that it is possible to learn remotely. Giving up your jobs, house, friends and family for this adventure is fascinating. Thanks for the ride. UA-cam channel HarrysHappenings 😂
Hey Harry, we were not planning on making a UA-cam channel while filming our adventure so yes we used a go pro, but mostly a phone. I decided to put these videos together for my kids, but put them on UA-cam for other sailing families to enjoy if they liked. The quality is terrible and so is the editing, I’m fully aware, because I’m doing my best with what I have. I appreciate your input, and when we get back on the water I will for sure have better equipment and footage🥰🤞🏻 My boys have been in school their whole lives, the year and a half we did boat life they homeschooled and all they want is to be back on a boat so that says something for the life😜🤙
@@SailingBananaPancakes Don't worry about the video quality, first and foremost you just need to enjoy your lives travelling. Sure it earns money on UA-cam (I think over the last 4 years I have had 2 payments!! LOL SLV embarked on a long plan to sail and it looks like Eleana has great filming and editing skills that I am jealous of, but I learn from her. It is great to see such a happy family, but we all know it is not always easy living in such close quarters. I love seeing the places you visit and lots of smiling faces. Be safe and enjoy
Great to see you again and very nice video. DR is a beautiful island but just the other side is what is knows as a "shithole" Haiti. They are certainly having their problems which will hopefully get resolved quickly. Hope all is well in Boise and your search for a new boat is fruitful. Ed
Hey Ed! Yes we took a drive towards Haiti and saw the difference. I think the people are good and kind, you always have some of the bad eggs that ruin it for everyone sadly. Thanks for watching commenting, we always appreciate it so much.
We sold the boat a year ago to find another boat and never found one. We are currently looking to hurry and get back out. In the meantime I decided to make episodes of our first season
Momma and Malia getting their TikTok Dance routines on at the first waterfall. Also, at the second waterfall, about 18 mins in, who's that blonde girl running around in the water topless????? (Joking! obviously! Making a reference to last weeks video that YT flagged for that blonde girl being topless! LOL)
