Good information that’s my 3 favorite locks I use the slim lock the most but I use the mini pro and low pro also I’ve got cam locks also maybe one of these days they will make 1/16 legal here in Tennessee
Do you have, or know of, any videos on how to make and use a washer lock? I've watched some of your other videos on field expedient snares and wonder how effective washer locks would be to use in an expedient or grid down situation. In one of your videos you mention keeping an eye out for various sources of usable cable to scavenge, such as old lawn mower throttle cables. It seems that being able to make and use washer locks would fall into the same category.
Hey meat trapper can you do a class - video on making and using the washer lock as well expedient alternative snare cable sources perhaps ,really love your videos btw ?
Our favorite here at STS and Hemming Outdoors is the cam lock and the micro lock. They are smooth and fast. We would like to get with you to review a snare we carry and see what your thoughts are on it. Not many people sell them commercially that I have seen
I’ve called Southern Snares several times and they won’t answer or call me back……best bet is The Snare Shop in Iowa. Super fast shipping and good selection !
I noticed you put a "kink" at the terminal end of your cable, next to the lock. Would you please educate me as to why you do this? I've always run the lock end of the cable, through the lock just opposite they way you do. I don't have any need for putting any kink in the cable, and I get very nice loop shape even before loading them. So, I must be missing something, and I would really like to know what benefit you are gaining by kinking the cable. Thanks so much for you feedback!!
I love your videos.... Unfortunately your buddies at Southern Snares wont ship to Alaska. USPS is the only realistic way to reach most of the places in Rural Alaska.
Great job on demonstrating the different snare locks. I myself use the cam lock. I use a silicone spray that I spray on the cam and cable. I get the stuff from LEM. I also use that stuff on my DP'S. It has no scent. And does a great job. I've been using it for years never had a problem yet. ( I hope my tip can help someone..)
Awesome video can I get a shout-out also I'm having trouble with the fox I know where he's going underneath the fence but he's getting too smart do you have any tips or ideas
What is your opinion on the ram power snare, I've recently started using a few for wolf and coyote and have had trouble with ravens getting in them not once but twice. Happy holidays and thanks for the videos and your knowledge and time.
My first choice Is a toothed cam lock but there not legal in Virginia anymore, so I have been using slim locks on 5/64" 1×19 and grawes bullet lock on 1/16" inch. I also like the Bmi mini lock. I use them on my mink snares. I play around with locks and cable combos all the time, so whatever closes fastest and locks up best Is what I use. I've used them all at one time or another. I don't like the washer locks for anything, I don't really like the micro lock for coyotes, had alot of waterhead with them, and I want as quick and clean a kill as I can get so I don't use them. If it's legal in your state , a senneker lightning cam lock, with a senneker torsion spring and his 265 pound b.a.d, for coyotes Is as good a setup as you will find. Yes there exspensive even if yoy build them yourself but they do there job every time and they do it fast.
That is called a deer stop. In some states of the US it is law to have them to stop the snare from closing smaller then like 2” so a deer could escape if caught in the snare.
Tim i'm gonna keep it real with ya. I think we both know that you've had a kid or two tied up in that Wood-Shed of yours outback. Now I would be willing to keep my mouth shut about this if you can hook me up with a few Hogs this year... Thanks bro I'll holla at you later.
I really wonder just why you post all your videos with an explanation ... "best poaching" .... you do know what a poacher is don't you and what "poaching" stands for ????
Awesome information! Your video's are some of the best I have seen! Southern Snares did come through for me....Thank you!

I have never used them, so I cant really offer any advice. Sorry.
What do you dip your snares in?
Formula 1 dip. Works great.
Thank you for all the information you provide.
Do you know about lock from the coin? I use some

What's the name of the part used to terminate the wire after it goes thru the holes?
An aluminum stop button. You can get them cheap from Southernsnares.com. Tell them you saw them on my video and they will hook you up.
Nice!!!
Nice
I tried to make my own...I guess the penny worked best

@@gksox Yes I do. Continue to ask permission from the King to feed your family. I do not. Have a good day.
@@Meattrapper LOL well with that attitude ... I won't be watching anymore of your poaching videos ... good luck with that .
@@gksox Not a problem. Adios.
