Classic impeccable Clapton…one of my favorites. And the unmistakable drumming from Phil Collins was icing on the cake! Thanks for letting me share this one! ❤️
@@montylc2001Just on this track. He also did harmony vocals. 🙂 Phil also worked with Eric on the two albums before this one, August and Behind The Sun.
Eric Clapton - Pretending if you’ve not listened will be your favorite Clapton hit. Keep doing great work! Clapton is the best guitar player of all time.
Saw this tour in Cincy at Riverbend third row dead center. Me and my two friends were fifteen years younger and fifteen beers drunker than anyone in the first fifteen rows. Every time his eyes passed us, a big smile would appear (we were the only ones standing , singing and rocking out in those first fifteen rows) on his face. I like to think , even as fools, we gave him just a bit of enjoyment for the bunch of it he gave us that night. Incredible concert!
As always loved the reaction! But his live performances are SO MUCH BETTER Here are some recommendations: - Double Trouble Live 1978 (MY ALL TIME FAV) - Cream live 1968 (NSU, Spoonful, Im so glad, crossroads, white room, sunshine of your love) - Cream live 2005 (Stormy monday, we re going wrong, toad and other suggestions above) - Every song from “Nothing but the Blues” (probably his peak as a guitarist) - While my Guitar Gently Weeps at Concert for George - Derek and the Dominos live at Fillmore (Let it rain or Why does love got to be so sad mainly) - I shot the sherriff at Crossroads 2004 and at MSG 2004 - Edge of Darkness at 24 nights - Thrill is Gone with BB King in 1985 or at White House Old Love (24 nights, 1999 at MSG, w/ Robert Cray and Unppluged).
EC uses a wah pedal for the intro and like parts and he also overdrives the amp a tad. On the clean parts it sounds like he straight clean, playing through the neck pickup or the 4 position between the neck and the center pickup.
At the begining he uses a " Cry Baby Pedal " to give it that sound . And during the solo . Hendrix used a similar pedal , but the pedal that Hendrix used was a "' VOX Wah - Wah Pedal ". If you see Hendrix live at Maui or Woodstock you'll see him rock a pedal up & down .🎸🤙
I suggest you react to these three songs from his " Clapton Unplugged" album. "Layla, Lonely Stranger, and Old Love". These songs reveal what a true master of the guitar E.C. was and his vocals were in rare form and among the best of his career in my opinion. And for an extra treat his emotional rendition of "Tears in Heavan" is one of the greatest songs of his career, a tribute to his late son.
Forever Man is a great Clapton song & of course, Layla--the original masterpiece from 50 years ago with Derek & The Dominoes and his later acoustic version which is also genius
Just to get some info out. Other rockers in the 60s called Eric "God" and he agreed that he was God. But when I saw him in 2018 he mentioned of his warm up bands that he couldn't go on without them. I forget their names, a (please excuse me) black rocker and another rocker who may have been the brother of another rocker who passed away. I saw him at MSG.
Eric is one of the best blues musicians on the planet The album this song he is singing is one the best blues albums that I have You should react to him playing the song It Hurts Me To This man was born to play the blues Paul Rogers the lead singer for Bad Company and he made a tribute album to Muddy Waters in 1993 and it is one of the best blues albums that I own The only song on the album that is not Muddy Waters The song Paul wrote himself called Muddy Water Blues But all the rest of the songs were written by Muddy Waters This is another great blues album
Haha, Clapton is using distortion, chorus, reverb, a little delay and a wah wah pedal. A wah wah pedal is what’s giving its most notable sound. He’s plugged into one but he’s not rocking the pedal back and forth. The rest is him bending strings and running through the pentatonic scale. He’s a master of putting riffs down in a song.
The sound is a bend, the greatest guitarists, in solos, take a string or multiple strings, and pick it, and bend it, up ..and change the octave, or key...As George Harrison wrote and sang..WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS...
Part of that guitar part was played with a wah and chorus pedal. To me the lead solo sounded like a fuzz pedal or just a lot of overdrive. Possibly both. By the way that's Nathan East on the bass...
Oh y'all gettin deeper now. Screw the mainstream stuff. This one's great. But there's still better. I so hope y'all get into his live concerts. That's where it's at. *24 Nights Concert* in particular. There's just, seriously, nothing like it. He's so freaking special. #Bluesrules
Great song from a good album “Journeyman” that came out in late 1989. Saw him in concert in March 1990 and was thrilled. Played “Bad Love” on stage. Recommend the album
Classic impeccable Clapton…one of my favorites. And the unmistakable drumming from Phil Collins was icing on the cake! Thanks for letting me share this one! ❤️
Glad you enjoyed it!
I didn't know Collins was the drummer on this album. No wonder the drumming was so good.

One of My favorite songs of His. I've seen Him in concert several times and each one was Absolutely Incredible.
Eric Clapton - Pretending if you’ve not listened will be your favorite Clapton hit. Keep doing great work! Clapton is the best guitar player of all time.
Cool, thanks!
"Bad Love" and "Pretending" are 2 of my faves of his. Great call!

Clapton at his peak. This album was perfection.
Unmistakable Clapton!
Asia & BJ, you’ll love his “After Midnight “, “Change The World “ and “Forever Man”!!!!
He has an excellent blues cover album call "From The Cradle"!!
Such a great Clapton song. Love the driving beat and the guitar is flawless. Thanks so much for posting this one!😊
Thanks for listening
Clapton also has a Mid Boost installed inside to give him great solos . He used it also on " LAYLA " with his guitars named : Brownie 🎸 & Blackie .
As always loved the reaction! But his live performances are SO MUCH BETTER

Old Love (24 nights, 1999 at MSG, w/ Robert Cray and Unppluged).
Yes! Great song! An even bettet Clapton is "Old Love". The version with Robert Cray is phenomenal!
Over the Target here ...yet again !
Eternal blessings to yall (John 3:16) .
The journeyman album released in the late 80s was a great album “no alibi’s “ is also a great track
He makes it sound like that because...........he's one of the TOP 5 guitar players of ALL TIME !!
Hi Asia and BJ! I know you guys love great guitar. Erics solo on this song just kills it! Incredible!
You guys have been busy spinning hits today! I see another one ahead. Keep ‘em coming. Love the reactions. 👈😉
You each look like you're rockin'. I rocked out with you. I saw Eric in 2018? But rocking out with you was a pleasure. Thanks. Merry Christmas!
Great song and reaction! Y’all know I love me some Clapton!!🤓🤠

Just saw in in concert in Liverpool UK 11/05/24. Brilliant concert.

When you’re one of the greatest guitarists of all time you can make a guitar do anything you want 🎸👍
How do you make a guitar sound like that? Put it in Eric Clapton’s hands 😄 Yes there are many pedals that make many different sounds.
I brought this album when I was in school back in the 1980's - still sounds as good now as it did then :)
I suggest you react to these three songs from his " Clapton Unplugged" album. "Layla, Lonely Stranger, and Old Love". Great pick guys.
El solo de guitarra es como ir volando simplemente espectacular..."mano lenta"...the best....saludos
I was just playing this on my 🎸 today !!! 🤙. If you haven't yet , watch where he plays " Old Love " all dressed in black 👌👌👌
Not bad for Eighties Clapton. It's gotta groove!
That's Clapton's Fender Stratocaster and a WahWah peddle, that made that unique riff.
Also if you look online , you're most likely to see a Live performance in concert of this and many of his other great songs .
Journeyman which this sing is from is my favorite Clapton album. Checkout Breaking Point. Phil Collins helped produce the album.
FOREVER MAN.
Wonderful tonight will make Asia cry.
Great choice, guys! He sings as well as he plays.
Forever Man is a great Clapton song & of course, Layla--the original masterpiece from 50 years ago with Derek & The Dominoes and his later acoustic version which is also genius
"Forever Man"
How does Eric Clapton make a guitar sound like that” 😂😂😂👊
Because CLAPTON IS GOD. #GoogleIt 🤘
I was 11 when this album came out. I played that tape out!
I have both " Vox Wah " & " Fuzz " as well as other pedals .
The Master,Clapton 😊
One of the greatest to ever pick up a guitar
Check out another great tune from Eric Clapton called "Behind the mask"

I never knew that! Thanks.

Tears in heaven and If I could change the world
It's because he's playing on the front pickup which gives you more bass and less treble.
I hope you’re watching the live performance!
Lovely song😊❤❤❤❤❤❤
"HOPE FOR THE BROKEN HEARTED," by, BRYAN DUNCAN.
One of the most beautiful, well sung songs you'll ever hear!
Blues effect from a blues guitarist..... imagine that ;)
clapton is a "bad" man! journeyman album is one of his best and considering he has so many thats saying something
Haha, Clapton is using distortion, chorus, reverb, a little delay and a wah wah pedal. A wah wah pedal is what’s giving its most notable sound. Phil Collins produced this album and played drums for the album and tour. Listen closely you'll hear Phil on backing vocals
The album was produced by Russ Titelman. Collins played only on this track.
Collins main album with Clapton was August in 86 and Behind the Sun.
@@robmorrison1043 I stand corrected! I was thinking it was off Behind the Sun.
He's bending the strings
wah wah pedal makes that sound
That's Phil Collins on drums.
Asia was right, It did sound futuristic, and Clapton did use peddles. 👍
The sound is a bend, the greatest guitarists, in solos, take a string or multiple strings, and pick it, and bend it, up ..and change the octave, or key...As George Harrison wrote and sang..WHILE MY GUITAR GENTLY WEEPS...
pedals and him knowing what he is doing makes it sound like that.
You can plug a guitar into a processor and make it sound anyway you want.
Need to hear Kayla and the song it's in the way that you use it from the movie with Tom cruise
Have you done Lay Down Sally?
Part of that guitar part was played with a wah and chorus pedal.
To me the lead solo sounded like a fuzz pedal or just a lot of overdrive. Possibly both.
By the way that's Nathan East on the bass...
Sounds like Pino Palladino on Fretless Bass
It’s Nathan East
You need to listen to " Old Love".
That's EC on guitar.
He’s using a wah wah pedal on this one. That’s probably what you’re hearing.
Asia, y’all start reacting to Lives and you’ll see how the magic is done!
Great song hey Wric is friends worh Joe Bonamassa play sloe gin and Asking Around for You come on!!!
Hi guys. I have a request if you'd be so kind. Can you do Eric Clapton's "Old Love" live 24 nights version? Thank you.
Looking the video
