LYRICS:
I’ve been climbing up the walls
To escape the sinking feeling
But I can’t hide from the nihilist at my door.
Buried in the basement floor
Didn’t know what I had planted
It blossomed with all the heart of a Cold War.
I’m a spirit in a tomb
Won’t somebody raise the roof
I’m going white, I’m going black, I’m going blue
Do you mind if I’m exhumed?
I’m the ashes in the plume
I’m a beggar in the ruin
I’m peeking out, I’m burning up, I’m shooting through
I’m lonely for the true
Paradise is in my soul
And I’m terrified I can’t get out
I’m lost in a labyrinth
We are lost in a labyrinth
Please don’t follow
You were in my dream last night
But your face was someone else’s
A twitch in my spine, a mutual disorder.
Isolation neophyte,
Too afraid to taste your conscience.
You march in the dark,
Little lamb to the slaughter.
Bring me every genre
Haha nailed it 👌
pretty much yeah

Grimes’ voice is so soft. It’s like a transparent blanket being laid overtop the entire track
That’s a good way to describe it
The power of falsetto. The sound Is thin like air 'cause It mostly Is, staying In the high register. Most male singer use It to mimic a natural female singer's angelic voice. A good one will often time soften It by injecting bit and pieces of his real voice through ,because you can easily end up sounding like Mickey Mouse if you're not careful.
That's grimes? Couldn't tell lol
Excellent way of saying that
Rick Grimes?
Teenage X Æ A-12 will be dancing to this at prom for sure.
Exactly
God bless you. Hahahahaha

Lol her mother is in it. (I’m aware everyone know that already)
David Bowie said:
"I think it’s terribly dangerous for an artist to fulfill other people’s expectations. If you feel safe in the area that you’re working in, you’re not working in the right area. Always go a little further into the water than you feel you’re capable of being in. Go a little bit out of your depth. And when you don’t feel that your feet are quite touching the bottom, you’re just about in the right place to do something exciting." Keep going guys. You rock!

So now that I've been playing Cyberpunk I came back to this because a lot of people have mentioned it. Honestly, a lot of the lyrics could fit into the game perfectly. So I have to agree, I do think the song would be a nice addition.

I love how they take this experimental futuristic dance/techno sound with ethereal/digital synths and vocals that also sound haunting in a way, and then combine it with the classic bmth drums, low guitars and group vocals that make you wanna headbang.
It reminds me of the performance at Royal Albert Hall with the orchestra, how they’ll mix different genres in a way and it works. I know they are fans of Linkin Park too and it reminds me of what they would do in a similar way by mixing rock and hip hop, etc.

"I wouldn’t call myself a nihilist, but I definitely relate to what it’s saying. I feel that emptiness a lot in my life. It’s not strictly a negative thing for me, but sometimes I ask “What’s the point in life? Where are we going?” Sometimes it feels like everything is so important. For kids of our generation, they feel like they have to find who they are really quickly or they’re failures. So many people go through that feeling if they don’t get married or find their perfect job or their calling. You feel like your life is meaningless. No, your life is still meaningless when you find it, and that’s freeing. It doesn’t matter, it’s all fine. It’s all going to end someday." -Oliver Sykes about “Nihilist Blues”.
sometimes on a grey day, i get the nihilist blues. nobody cares anymore, and even if they do its only because religion made them do it. why cant people just do the right thing because its right thing? so yeah; sometimes im a nihilist, im also a skeptic, a cynic and agnostic. and im terrified i cant get out

I feel his presence with the music and for that reason BMTH will forever have a very special personal place in my heart.
I'm grateful to experience this closure and I really hope he is okay, happy and loved.
*metalcore has left the chat*
ur a bit late bud
*metalcore has been gone since 2013 move the fuck on*
It left the chat years ago mate 😂
Can you suggest an ignorant person like myself some GOOD Metalcore songs?
@@LordBattleSmurf not a huge fan of most metalcore out there, but This Calling and Two Weeks by All That Remains are two very solid songs imo
This song is fantastic. It takes a bit to grow on you but when it does, Its a masterpiece
It's already my favourite track on the album
Once I got over the fact that they were completely leaving their older style and specifically going for this style of music I was able to appreciate it. I love Annisokay's cover of this too because it gives me the heavier version of this song. This song is my jam now.
I was hooked to this one instantly tbh
IllusiveVex it’s literally my favorite thing about BMTH, every album has a different sound, vibe and energy but if approached with an open mind you’ll recognize how amazing, creative and envelope pushing their music really is!!! One thing I’ve learned being a fan from the start is always expect something different and understand they will experiment with their sound, they can’t be put into a box as a single genre, and they will continually surprise the world with their sound! This band hasn’t received the recognition and respect they deserve! They push the envelope of music with their creativity, experimentation, and the blending/blurring of the lines between genres! They are one of the torchbearers for contemporary alternative rock... the blending of electronic and traditional rock, with lyrics with meaning and depth! They create music on their terms, they have made the music they want to and are ever evolving and trying out new and daring sounds! To me they are the crest of the wave of what modern alternative rock can be! Especially with Amo they’ve created a sound that truly can’t be labeled as a single genre... I believe with time Amo will receive the respect and admiration it deserves as a masterpiece of its time! This is the future of music, defying traditional genres, blurring the lines of those genres that creates a sound that is unique, creative and shows where the future of rock music is going!
That is Amo as an album in a nutshell! You listen cuz you love BMTH and then are like whaaatttt after listening to it! However if you keep an open mind and give it the chance it deserves... the whole album is just fucking mind blowing!!!!
i love metal, hip hop, rap, rock, electronic and this is bloody electronic and i love it

BLU Bring me the ooooooi
I've been climbing up the walls to escape the sinking feeling
But I can't hide from the nihilist at my door
Buried in the basement floor, didn't know what I had planted
It blossomed with all the heart of a Cold War
I'm a spirit in a tomb
Won't somebody raise the roof
I'm going white, I'm going black, I'm going blue
Do you mind if I'm exhumed?
I'm the ashes in the plume
I'm a beggar in the ruin
I'm peaking out, I'm burning up, I'm shooting through
I'm only lonely for the truth
Paradise is in my soul and I'm terrified I can't get out
I'm lost in a labyrinth, we are lost in a labyrinth
Paradise is in my soul and I'm terrified I can't get out
I'm lost in a labyrinth, we are lost in a labyrinth
Please, don't follow
Paradise is in my soul and I'm terrified I can't get out
I'm lost in a labyrinth, we are lost in a labyrinth
Please, don't follow
Light as a feather, stiff as a board
Sink to the floor, I sink to the floor
I sink to the floor
Light as a feather, stiff as a board
You were in my dream last night, but your face was someone else's
A twitch in my spine, a mutual disorder
Isolation neophyte, too afraid to taste your conscience
You march in the dark, little lamb to the slaughter
I'm a spirit in a tomb
Won't somebody raise the roof
I'm going white, I'm going black, I'm going blue
Do you mind if I'm exhumed?
I'm the ashes in the plume
I'm a beggar in the ruin
I'm peaking out, I'm burning up, I'm shooting through
I'm only lonely for the truth
Paradise is in my soul and I'm terrified I can't get out
I'm lost in a labyrinth, we are lost in a labyrinth
Please, don't follow
Paradise is in my soul and I'm terrified I can't get out
I'm lost in a labyrinth, we are lost in a labyrinth
Please, don't follow
Please, don't follow
Please, don't follow
Please, don't follow
Please, don't follow
Please, don't follow
I've been climbing up the walls to escape the sinking feeling
