Baker was 30th overall in qbr when he was under pressure with having 2nd least pressures in the league.Brissette’s qb rating was 4th when he was under pressure with most amount of pressures in the league. His td to int ratio is better than Mayfield’s.He made nice throws in the video while being under pressure.
This is the first time I watched Brissett play. For a backup I'm definately impressed. He has nice accuracy. He seems to be able to throw the ball in tight windows under pressure and on the run. He also has good scrambling ability and can make defenders miss. I can see why Berry went after him. I think he could really prosper under center with an improved offensive line. I'm definately not worried If he's leading the Browns. Even if Watson is suspended half the season or more.
Two things the browns lacked last year 1. Mobile QB someone to escape pressure jocoby does that very well. 2. To many baker balls batted down do to size, Jocoby is 6"4 and 225 to 230 he can beat you with his legs. Baker did some but not near as big as Jacoby.
Brisset is substantially better then Mayfield. Watching him stand tall with poise in the pocket is something Mayfield can't do.even if watsons suspended for the season we are in better shape then last year we just need to do better then Dobbs as the #2 qb
The man isn't elite at anything but he's above average at everything. Above average size, strength, agility, accuracy, throwing power, durability and intangibles. You can absolutely win with a QB like that if the supporting cast is up to par.
The one other factor, I know it will sound so elementary in terms of trying to include with his skill set is his height. My Browns have not had a solid QB since Derek Anderson for one year, who is taller than 6’0. Brissett doesn’t frighten me either because he’s A CAPABLE QB and he’s got the best running back trio in the league.
Correction; one solid year from Derek. But irregardless, they can see over the offensive line. If you are drafting a mobile QB like a Russell Wilson, that’s one thing. If your QB is a passer at the height of Wilson or lower, good luck seeing over the o-line.
After watching this and knowing the Better O-line Cleveland has, plus Run game support. I am excited to see Jacoby Brisset play for at least the first 11 games of the season, and should he catch on maybe more. I feel he could be for the Browns how Nick Foles was for the Eagles in their SB run. Go Browns and go 7.
Brissett can run for 1st downs, hes big and can extend plays and is a capable accurate QB. Hes I'd say is a top 3 Backup QB and has had success as a starter. I'm not worried he will be fine until Watson comes back for 6 games.
He's a good capable QB. The browns will be more than happy . He can get more time ,and we will have him as Watsons backup . What's not to like about that.
It is a great pick! Don't you remember last year when we signed Mullens and he practiced for 2 days before the game and almost won. Imagine what Jacoby could do for this team while Watson is out.
Baker is faster and stronger Statistically. Baker has one of if not the strongest arm in the league behind Allen. Baker and Allen were the only 2 guys to throw a velocity of 60, not to mention he has the longest pass in NFL history.
I am hoping that he can win 5 or 6 games while Deshaun is out. I think if he can go 6-5 then the Browns have a chance to make the playoffs. But realistically, I am thinking 2023 is the Browns year.
Brisette always showed promise since he was with my Patriots. He was actually 3rd string after Brady and Jimmy G. But a few games he was able to get on the field he he wasn't bad at all! As a matter of fact his hus display that season is what got him a job with the colts I believe. I always check in on him and he seems to be doing his thing! 💪🏾💯
Do you know what I want to see? I want Brissett to play well with the Browns, then have DeShawn Watson come and play after getting off of his suspension, but he plays horribly and gets benched for Jacoby Brissett. That would be great karma and it would be hilarious
Very week arm but it helps that he can extend plays. He's better than Keenum and a hurt Baker but definitely not better than a healthy Baker. He should hold us over for a short time.
@@bk7064 Here's the thing about Brissett. He is an excellent quarterback but he plays a very conservative style that makes him unpopular among some owners and fans. Fans like big play quarterbacks and Brissett CAN do that but it doesn't play to his strengths. The reason the Patriots drafted the guy is that while his physical skillset is different, the way he plays and leads is similar to what Brady was doing when he was young. High percentage passes that move the chains, advance the clock and keep the defense on the field, then pounces on their mistakes. It relies on a smaller number of possessions that eat a greater amount of clock. It's not a style that puts up big numbers but when executed correctly it makes the game much easier for everyone else. When he's executing his game you'll see a team that usually scores less than 25 points even when it wins. That's why he didn't stick around with the Colts, Irsay loves offense too much and JB7 wasn't giving him flashy offensive gains. That said the Browns might just be absolutely perfect for Brissett. expectatiions are fairly low, and all the Browns really want is stability in the QB position. They'll take any style of play that wins them football games and Browns fans actually love the same kind of smashmouth run up the gut football that best complements JB7's playstyle. This cat may have finally landed on his feet and I hope they let him have a chance to talk them out of Watson.
@@hagamapama Yeah I completely agree. If Brissett is one thing, it's that he's safe, which is a nice change for a qb. I was (and still am) a supporter of Mayfield when he was on the team, but I'd be lying if I told you I didn't get a little nervous when Baker threw a deeper ball. Brissett is definitely a safer qb without a doubt.
Welcome to the browns
Brissett should do well while Watson is likely suspended, especially behind a good Browns o line which he didn’t have in Miami

Bigger, more mobile, and more accurate than Baker. We don't need Jacoby to be Superman, too much offensive talent. Just don't turn the ball over.
