      Hi, alto is always the middle voice and that makes it concealed sometimes because it is sandwiched between the other two parts. Try focusing on the other two and then focus on alto last.

    What if one voice is not light like urs how can one work to get a light voice

    • @THEVOCALLEXICON
      @THEVOCALLEXICON  День тому

      If the person has a thick vocal cord, their voice may not change to light but they can train their voice to become more fluid and flexible and sing much higher. These can be done with agility exercises and lip rolls videos.

    As someone who is struggling to understand- since altos come after/below the sopranos why is solfa note not “Fa” since that’s immediately after “so”which the sopranos are singing???

    • @THEVOCALLEXICON
      @THEVOCALLEXICON  8 місяців тому

      Hi, thank you for your question. The reason is harmony works with interval so you have to skip the very next note to get the next part. for instance if soprano is so then you have to skip the fa to get the altos which will be mi.

  • @Bando.Lethwei
    @Bando.Lethwei Рік тому +1

    Dear sir , what is second soprano in harmony singing? Any register second-ing the main soprano or how is it different from tenor or alto? Can you do the video on that please. I learnt a lot from you sir. I am beritenor vocal type.

    • @THEVOCALLEXICON
      @THEVOCALLEXICON  Рік тому +1

      Mezzo-Sopranos, in choirs are usually the ones referred to as Second Sopranos or First Alto (soprano 2 or alto 1), and they often have the middle line and so on.

    • @Bando.Lethwei
      @Bando.Lethwei Рік тому +1

      Thanks for explaining sir. i understand the difference now. If Main Soprano ( lead ) is high , can i back her with an octave below tenor harmony sir as my vocal range is limited and can't hit super high notes. Will it still be call tenor or something else in harmony singing? If lead ( soprano ) is singing low, can I back her with an octave up alto n will it still be class as alto or something else sir? Thanks. 🙏

    Observation!!!
    If two solfa notes down gives the alto sound? Then when finding the alto of "re"(soprano) it is going to be "do" and when finding alto of "mi"(soprano) it's also "do"? Or is the higher do that ends the solfas (do re mi fa so la ti "do") ignored when doing this making the "re" to be "ti"?

    • @THEVOCALLEXICON
      @THEVOCALLEXICON  Рік тому

      Hi thanks for your question. When the soprano is "re" the alto below still maintain that gap between the notes by going to the "ti" or "la" in the lower octave. I hope this answered your question.

    Sir, what if soprano is singing melody?

    • @THEVOCALLEXICON
      @THEVOCALLEXICON  4 місяці тому

      Thank your for your question soprano always sing the high voice, Altos sing the middle voice and tenors sing the low voice. So the answer is Soprano sings melody, Alto sings Alto part and Tenor sings Tenor part.
