If only 20% can pass this then it’s a sad indictment of our education system.
29 out of 30, Dang, id never read a book with Lustrum in it. Fun quiz, simple if people read books 📚, which i devoured starting with Enid Blyton then onwards and upwards ever since. ❤ No electronic toys in my youth.😊😊
"Onwards and upwards"...C. S. Lewis, 'The Last Battle', if I'm not mistaken. I have a box set of the Narnia books, and I still pick one up and read it from time to time. I'm 73. But I started my love affair with fantasy with the original version (hard back, no pictures) of J.M.Barry's 'Peter Pan', at age six. Enid Blyton came later, and didn't last long, and then I found C.S.Lewis, J.R.R.Tolkein... Unfortunately, they don't write books like that any more, and most fantasy seems to be all 'hack and slash'.
26/30 I have never ever heard of a lustrum (no. 2). I learnt a few new things again in this fun quiz. Thank you!
Wow, 26/30 is an amazing score! A lustrum is a lesser-known term, so you're definitely not alone there...it originally referred to a five-year period in ancient Rome. I'm so glad you enjoyed the quiz and learned some new things along the way. Thanks for participating, Nic Grobler! ❤👍
The term lustrum was used in the movie Rooster Cogburn with John Wayne. It's the only time I have ever heard the term and suspect that a script writer did a lot of digging to come up with it.
30 of 30. If only 20% can pass this a whole lot of people can't comprehend what they read. Pathetic education system.
It is not just a bad education system but parents dont instill in their children the love of learning
Couldn't agree more. 😢
30/30 (tho never heard of lustrum. By process of elimination...most of this vocabulary (for native English speakers) could/should be used proficiently by average 10th grader (age 14-15) - tho several had more than one 'correct' answer!
I scored 25/30. Not bad I would say for a 70+
commotion is not an event. words matter
Seams more like a fustercluck
So we can assume you are one of the 80% that couldn't cut the mustard lol
Lustrum is not 5rs, it's a purification ceremony that occurs every 5yrs.
5 years are called Quinquennial according to Collins Dictionary. I stopped after 8 questions, this is banal.
Avoid quarreling by all means. Try to make another side happy without expecting anything in return. It is easy to break up, but it is more difficult (and sweeter) to make a relation work.(have been married for 45 years, happily!!!!).
30/30 but guessed at lustrum.
Well done, Mark Brooks! Thanks for participating! 💯❤️👍
We are encouraged to partake of this quiz, I have said before we would like to informed of how we performed !
29 - never heard of lustrum
26/30...................tks
An excellent vocabulary quiz, thank you! 🙏🥰🤓🦋🦋💕🫂
Lustrum.
I got 29/ 30. The music was also enjoyable unlike the suspence song that was played previously .
30/30, but I got the second word, which I'd never heard of, by default, as it wasn't any of the others!
A chef and a cook are not the same! A cook prepares food, a chef organizes the kitchen! Often a cook later becomes a chef, as chef he tells other cooks what to do!
29/30.....Lustrum undid me.
30/30, a couple gave me cause for a little contemplation. cheers
30/30 A couple were very close .
29/30. Ciao.
Hi There. 26/30 Thanks for the interesting quizz. Also never heard of a LUSTRUM. Glad to know that now. Keep Well!!!!!~
@JV, thanks for taking the quiz and for your kind feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it and learned something new. Take care, and hope to see you around for more quizzes soon. ❤👍
28 out of 30.
25/30 😊😊
30/30 easy for those reading a lot of books
Great job! 💯❤👍
I admit I have failed in many of these questions. Got a little more than a half right.
Got to ten. It's to easy.
I scored 26/30
I got 24 out of 30😅
Only honest person on here.

South Africa 🇿🇦

21/30....❤
Good job! ❤️👍
27 out of thity
disregarding question 1...I got them all correct.
Fantastic job, Pat McGill Hastings! Keep up the amazing work! 💯❤👍
28/30 2 of these had dual answers
I missed 2 but both were words I've never seen before
30/30 but some definitions are too close to each other . question one was particularly dodgy
28
Good job! ❤👍
Thank you I got only 17 because the question hard English so my speak english is very poor
Well done. There's always room for improvement. ❤👍
Get an editor for grammar and punctuation.
I suspect that those of us over the age of 60 get the best scores, however, I'm ashamed of my personal score. Twenty five out of thirty is just not good enough
This one is sort of an easy, low grade quiz.
30/30
Excellent job, Arby! Keep up the good work! 💯❤️👍
How do we know the results of right or wrong out of 30 question's.?
Reply to my question.
Wtite them down
A lustrum is 5 years. Didn't take the entire quiz. Usually ace them.
Well done!
@englishtestsandlogic Learned that from Rooster Cogburn.
28/30
Well done! Thanks for participating! ❤👍
Lustrum threw me off. Got 29 out of 30.
what? your questions are too easy!
30 out of 30. And…’commotion’ for question 1?!?
It was fun the first time I answer this kind of questions. Then, boring...
In question 1, know that a commotion is not a cause.
How often do you hear the expression something "caused a commotion?"
E.g., “His rude and loud behavior caused a commotion at the meeting.”
Have you ever heard anyone say a commotion caused something?
Probably not. Some adjustment is required for this question & answer.
Calling bs on question 23 answer as per the Oxford English Dictionary and all those who say they got 30/30. Correct answer is utopia and not nirvana.
Problem is that one person's utopia is another person's dystopia - Nirvana is the only answer that covers all bases.
There is no way it can be utopia.
Learn some philosophical terms.
The Quiz does not work !!!!!!!!
The definitions for the first two questions were absolute 💩!
Ups, my comment went for the story I watched before this quiz, sorry!!!!
pantry.. is a place where they used to keep their pants (& underPants) in ancient times
It is not good since you don’ give me final scores that I tested
