I was a baby Christian just as CM was coming out. I LOVED them because I was a hip hop head in the world. I was grateful. I'm forever passionate about them. I learned A LOT of theology from just listening to their music. SO HOT!
CM ignited a fire in us here in the Caribbean (Guadeloupe), gave us confidence, energy and standards to rock the mic for Christ. Mission first and then music ! We love you. Thank you for that powerful ministry and consistance. Great conversation ! Feels good to see you all there, hearing your voices and linking them to the songs that rocked us. Grace and Peace.
Growing up as a teenager in high school it was all about Cross Movement(i was also big on reach in their beginng stages)... Not just the group(who is still my favorite group) but any artist under the label I was rockin with.. Flame/Da Truth/Everyday Process/ R-Swift/ Lecrae(yes he was signed to Cross Movement for the reach record fans lol)/K-Drama(who i was rockin with before he signed there)/why hip hop series was nuts I wish they wouldve kept that going... I had CMR written on my cd collection case thats how much of an influence they had on me when I was young.. Help me shaped who i am now not just as person but as an artist too.. Salute to them for their passion for Christ. Even when I drifted off at times those very things i listened to stuck with me. They really did lay the foundation.
The beauty of their style of delivering the Gospel is that in all of their songs Jesus Christ is the superstar! They allow Jesus to Lord over them and it is evident in the lyrics. The message is Jesus Christ and the Cross!
Hallelujah to the King of all kings and the Lord of lords for our dear brothers! Salute to the elders and joint heirs in Christ Jesus. Now that's a real honest to goodness interview. That was beautifully captured, for all to see. We celebrate Enock, DJ Official, and a cast of others who have finished their course on Earth. We give thanks to God for allowing His power and majesty to be shown through the vehicle of Hip Hop and broadcast His truth and authority within our turbulent culture. Hey who else just wanted to sit and listen to about an hour worth from Duce, Tonic, the Phanatik, T.R.U.L.I.F.E., Earthquake, and Cruz? Thank you DJ Wade-O for the questions. From one CHH fan to another. The beauty of the marvelous plan that God has supplied The Cross Movement can't be expressed into mere words. #ThankfulTuesday #grateful #ThankYouLord
LOVE Cross Movement. I saw them when they were just getting popular with "Huh, What?" BITD in Akron, OH. I got a chance to meet a couple of the guys. God bless them. I really enjoy the fact that they are serious about the Lord and believe in the authority of the Word of God and that it will not change. Hallelujah!
Regardless of what path each individual took, what choices they made, what pitfalls they encountered, CM still remains THE MOST INFLUENTIAL CHRISTIAN HIP HOP group in the history of the Faith. We all know gospel rap was trash quality wise but we had to start somewhere. CM changed EVERYTHING. Bold. Effective. Legendary. #ChristologyInLaymensTerms
By God grace they were the dudes who launched me into my faith even more but more boldly. I love hearing the back story because there is no formula other than trusting God with the work they did.
How much more can a brother ask for, The Cross Movement will always be my favorite and #1 Gospel Rappers, not Christians that rap, but Christian that rap the message of the Lord's Gospel.
I ammm sooo late !!!! But omgggggg I was OBSESSED WITH CM ! wow ! Smh I started listening to them when I was 12... I'm 36 and still listen lol and my 11 year old loves them too. They were the blueprint.... period. GODBLESS THEM ALL !
really appreciate the perspective of the issues we are facing today. bringing all aspects in and yet pointing to answers in the bible. The church has never been perfect but God knew it wouldn't be. yet we r called to examine ourselves in all aspects. so much more that can be said but leave it as is. thank you cross movement for sharing.
wow. to get those cats in the same room at one time. wowowowowow. this is dope. a lot of young cats dont know or dont event recognize the contributions of what this group of men did. but a lot of CHH rapper that are out today are standing on the shoulders of the path the these cats made.
Honor and Glory to God! I thank him for the these amazing Godly Anointed leaders that paved the way for Christian Hip Hop. Respect and honor to the Cross Movement....0
CM is still the most grounded n theologically sound hip hop group. Press on by Phanatic is golden. Duece on that hormone replacement lol Yah bless y'all. Respect
Praise the Lord for these men willing to highlight Christ as sheep among wolves in hip-hop! God introduced me to CM and CHH in 2003, so to get the background on how it all came to be is awesome. Heaven's Mentality is still on heavy rotation in my car! One complaint: Why would you fool around and mention that there were unreleased tracks, mixtapes, and EPs without giving any indication that the masses could get their hands on them? That's like telling a starving dude "Oh, there's food in the fridge, you just can't have any." Cruel and unusual, fellas!
Sample Clearance and timing issue. We chose to pull it and take the loss rather than to put it out blemished. Different music on 4 songs but same lyrics. The original music for Cypha Time can be heard on the Glitz and Glam interlude just before Dust.
@@quake-0017 thanks for the insight! I was sure there was a good explanation. Knowing y'all only wanted to put out the best, most God-glorifying music from the beginning is consistent with your character and the Movement of the Cross altogether!
@@smithrichard3 thanks my guy. It didn’t matter where the Lord placed us. We just wanted be used by Him and to glorify his name. We were/are so unworthy but His grace captured us and used us. It’s humbling still.
@@quake-0017 since I sort of have your ear, I have a question that's been nagging me for the better part of 2 decades: are those actual voicemails in the interludes before and after Cypha The Next Day on House of Reps? If so, is there a story you can share?
Great interview! These brothers show how it STILL should be done, not making less of Christ when you do a secular interview, or give big ups to the purveyors of godless, profane rap!
Yoh! Y'all need to show love to Amb, even when he was going through, study his lyrice, God was still dealing with him. It's called GRACE. Enough beef! Grace and Peace!
Yes. Thanks so much. Great stuff. Great Group - Cross Movement. Thank You also DJ Wade for this interview. I always felt when I first heard Cross Movement that they were these Hip Hop Angels sent down from heaven to help the community areas both Urban and Rural where there was high unemployment, crime and poverty. You Guys Rock. Love You with God and the Bible and tune up us Young Believers.
I did ministry with these SOLID REAL Brothers inChrist!.Back in 1997 hungout with ems then went to eats wit ems..Still got pictures wit ems to this verrrry dayyyy and I'm in my 40s nowadays...But just like yesterday The Tonic rel name John Wells, The Phanatek rel name Brady, Da Truth rel name Will, Cruz Corderro, and RIEP(Rest in eternal peace)Enoc they ALWAYS had banginests beats and thunderous sounds along with sold out to Jesus too the hearts core fiber lyrics that shook me for 1 a NewYorkCity streetz once angry brawling wild drinkns Kat!Their spits lyrics and to esp hangout with thems forever transformed *me* fa evers
Cross Movement laid a foundation that I feel is sometimes overlooked. Classics on classics Bro. This was a great interview!

I was an intern at CMN DISTRIBUTORS. Shout Out Matthew Abraham for letting me make the radio station calls and set up shows.
Hey Bro. Appreciate you for that. Shouts to Matt - tell him Bo Go Gii when you see him. He’ll understand and laugh!
