So much hate but I think the haters are people who don’t actually drum. This is great that I can add a play snare piece and easily record it and add it to something as opposed to using a bunch of microphones and an expensive marching snare
What's the practical application for using this on-stage in a low light environment? Ex. - on #7, let's say ... how do you know if you'll getting primary #7 sound or a variation? Visually, there doesn't appear to be a way to tell which setting you're dialed into.
Very good question. Our drummer has a tablet mounted on a stand with our set list. When I create the set lists, I indicate the pad settings for each song. He has a little dollar general reading light mounted on the pad. It would be cool if it had an LED readout but musicians are used to improvising and making things work 😀
No entiendo que quisieron hacer con este pad? Porque no hacen una nueva versión de una clásica Roland PM16 o DDR 30 ,seria algo más novedoso .mi humilde opinión,
I actually like this device and its sounds. Already have the SPD-ONE Kick, and this one should add some nice noise to the madness :) (read: enhance creativity!)
That's pricey for something that can only play a single sample at a time. Is the pad velocity sensitive? Better off getting the Akai MPX8 SD sample pad controller for $99 bucks which lets you play more samples at the same time. For $200 or less you can get the 16 pad version!
This thing is really an add in for the drumset to add some flavors into a live show. If you hit the akai pads with a stick hard it would break and their so tiny it's for fingers. Roland is very durable and has nice quality sound through PA live and that's what you pay for with this thing. Air horn sound is waste of space though...
Because the videos are showcasing the sounds, not just the units. I tried this a a drum and percussion expo on the weekend and it's a great tool to add to your drumkit or percussion set up.
Rudraksh Tripathi they're not the same. All four have different sounds in them. And the WAV one is specifically designed to load your own sounds and samples into it. To me, that's the only one really worth having?
some sounds you will rarely use and some v quiet...snares sound good effects are ok...a pad with just snares and maybe claps its almost very good. which means in a year roland will release another version.....££
DrummerGrrrl I think these are just meant to be Segway instruments into the world of electronics? It's a good idea but from what I've seen, they're a little pricey? I was curious about adding triggers and sound samples, etc. so I took a more economic and simplistic approach. I got the Roland TM-2 that's all 4 of these pads into one!!!
I got one for Xmas 🎄 2022 so fun🎉 love that 💣 808 boom before I go into a “break” or extreme riff/beats

ghost notes or single hits?

ground breaking sounds - can't wait to find one in a bargain bin next year and circuit bend it
3 years later, did you?
What is the proper way to connect this to a mixing console? Direct Box?
Yesss, let the hate consume you.
how to midi in logic pro? como usarlo como midi en logic pro?
Does this have a click track option with it?
Air horn = how to remove drunk people off the stage at bars and clubs..
can be plugged into a trigger?
Great but what about the price?please?
Found an article, looks like they're going to be $199.99, except for the sample one, witch will be closer to $250...

in a world bursting with music technology, I fail to see who would use this.
I see musicians gigging with these all the time. Enhancing acoustic kits or solo acoustic types.
Quite Confusing. If all of them (Electro, Wavpad etc) have the same functions then why different videos?
Because the videos are showcasing the sounds, not just the units. I tried this a a drum and percussion expo on the weekend and it's a great tool to add to your drumkit or percussion set up.

sounds like a toy retro 80s i get sounds like this for free!!
It can use with foot?
Davide Iacono yes
Can you play it with your hands?
Stratocaster65 yes
super horn is the best
No funciona en Windows

hey you forgot the decayslider, mmmmh
It doesn't loop?
Phillip King no, only the WAV one that you can load your own sounds, samples, and loops into does that.
3:13 KORN super low, blind, freak on a leash
An air horn?? Seriously?! Half the "sounds" in this thing are crap.

DrummerGrrrl yeah, B sound on the only bass drum patch so you can easily get fucked up.
The airhorn is a 'funny' sound, it should be replaced with your own (user) sample
It’s a waste. I’d prefer spd30 instead
Seems like a lot of hate for this product. More than usual for the internet which is a known cesspool of hate and negativity.
yeah well...for what you get...at that price...
curious- have you bought them?
sounds not really promising, especially with one sound only
Terrible
Boring instrument
No boring instruments, only uncreative people
Only boring people get bored!
Boring person you mean
