Getting up the Susten pass and the Steinglätscher is such a thrill. In autumn, when you arrive at the same time the light hits the peaks you see on the left at 03:37, with the mist in the ditch on the side of the road, it never gets old..
Hi Leo - another beautifully shot and edited vlog (and the stills) - thanks for sharing and inspiring us to find these places later ourselves! The UK finally has spring weather - been out on my bike today up some of our mountain passes in Cumbria - beautiful though not as high or as many fantastic hairpins as you've shown us (again)! Keep them coming - love the views and your obvious joy at being there!
Thnx for the kind words. It seems that all over Europe and neighboring countries finally have some decent weather coming up. Better enjoy it to the fulledt
Again very magnificant episode. All your pictures are so beautiful. You really know how to make interesting videos. Thank you. It was nice to ride with you.
😅 that road you are at 7:40, a couple of year ago I took it too to make some pictures. There is a "field of stones" (don't know how to say it in English) just under the glacier where I took my camera with me, only to fall on the stones, cutting a finger to the bone on the edge of a stone and shattering my 35mm objective. Beautiful place, but not so great memories... It was a couple of days before the closing of the pass, and the ride down with 1 hand only was not the greatest of times.
That’s not the memory one likes to have, especially big ouch on the camera gear. Hope the story can put a small smile on your face now, as it must have been quite the adventure
Leonoor. Not sure how you do it (just raw talent I guess) but you seem to have a gift for marrying beautiful scenery with a warm and genuine narration. It was heartwarming to see you meet Barbara (a kindred spirit) and to share the same experiences. Truly inspiring! Can’t wait to see it for myself this September….assuming the weather stays fair!? Stay safe…..and enjoy yourself! Regards
What an amazing road with stunning views all around, I would spend all day up there having my senses filled with those majestic mountain views truly a mesmerising journey. What a spot to stop and have lunch pefect in every way 👌 Another beautifully presented vlog with amazing sound track it lifted my soul, many many thanks LNR.... I loved it 👍👏😎
Que lago lindo! As imagens aéreas que você faz são perfeitas, impressionantes. Seu talento é indiscutível. Você pode eternizar imagens do mundo inteiro moça.
We are so lucky. All of us - because of your unique footage. Thank you for this great episode, Leonoor! The Klausen and the Susten are two special passes for me. The first because I rode it some 25 years ago, in autumn, on my big, heavy Yamaha FZR 1000, together with my partner - and I did not see anything in the morning mist then. Only .. when at some point, near your secret spot, the clouds opened for some meters, and I had this unbelievable view down into the valley. I suffer fear of heights. I almost died instantly .. *g* The Susten was one of the first passes I wrote a portrait about. Together with two best friends I spent some nights at Innertkirchen, and we rode our b*** off on two Zero SR/Fs and one SuperDuke, riding around the Susten, the Furka and the Grimsel. On and on. After these days I put a candle on the side of the Susten road - because I was so thankful of the opportunity to dig so deep into this beauty beauty beautyful pass. I think it's the TOP pass for motorcycles - best tarmac, best bends, best hairpins. Sheer fun! But, infact: I think the Klausen is the most beautyful of them all. WHAT a landscape when climbing up, WHAT a landscape when riding down. Thank you for recalling my memories. I'll have to go there again, soon. ASAP!
So so cool to hear all this and to have my video recollect those memories for you, big compliment. It looks like you’ve had some intense and incredible moments on those passes! I love them both too
Remember these passes. Incredible roads and views. Very good for the soul. However the Susten was one of the passes that was closed so thank you for showing me! *Love the channel. x
All the time you put in pays off Leonoor. What an amazing beautifull images. Eye for cinema and photography and also eye for humanity. Ik hou er van. Bedankt!
Great video, had a ride myself this morning after taking my bike for it's first M.O.T / inspection or whatever is your equivalent yearly check is called , all was good passed for another 12 months ,even the sun has been shinning today 🤟
Awesome video! I think this episode was one of my favorites. Scenery was amazing for sure. I remember the cows all in flowers coming through town going to lower pastures when I was a child in Bavaria. It gave me chill bumps to see it. and their bells! You get the best stuff to eat! Now I am craving wurst. You certainly have a heart of gold the way that nature impacts you. I love to see that. I am very happy I found your channel. And Barbara was wonderful! Best!
Barbara was amazing, such a lovely woman and happy to have met her there. Yeah the almabtriebs are something different aren’t they? I loved every one I saw on my trips!
Susten-Pass, for me the most beautiful Pass. Sometimes, very early in the morning, no traffic, no police..... but careful with mobil radar-station in the first part😉Steinsee, Tierbergli also new for me, i have to visit that place next time, thank you for all the new places in my country. I have to speed down a little bit😂
I’m quite surprised by how many Swiss riders didn’t know about this side road on the Susten and also the Panorama Oberaar near the Grimsel, happy to be showing you something new 😁
And again: it's so beautiful to see, how you enjoy your trip. You shows me my Home truth other eyes and reminds me, how great it is. And what, you was in GR ? I'm sooo curious about the next episode. I wish you all the best.
I am so jealous, we are still waiting for Summer in England 01 of June. I have been back in winter clothes for the past two weeks. Tomorrow they have forcast sunshine but still cool yeah. Another great video and scenery to make you feel alive and then some.
Hi Leo , again stunning work, I can’t wait for the next update/ chapter of your project, speaking of projects.. when will we see the hook up with runa ? Oh and I’m not sure about that van thing you mentioned.. hmmm hopefully it will not mean less of you riding the duke 🧐😳🤷♂️I’m kidding, you gotta do whatever is required for your work.. take care happy riding 😏👍
Thnx a lot, I promise it is coming - our plans are more towards the end of the year and then we have to check when we can put it online etc. But it is for sure coming 😁 I don’t get why everyone is so worried about me getting a van honestly, I’m tired of the highway riding that I more and more frequently have to do. I’m still gonna be riding the same trips as I do now, minus those obnoxious highway km’s. And I simply need it for work as well as I’m getting more jobs throughout Europe. But I guess I need to fully explain myself on here to not be misunderstood these days 😅
I really do understand what you mean, it can’t be fun riding all the way to your destination for hours on end just to get a few minutes of content, especially as that mileage is done with 7 million kilos of baggage weighing you down, not only from a handling point of view, but the constant loading/ unloading I’m sure it would get old real quickly, especially in shit weather 🤷♂️I think it will be an interesting way of going about it, camping would be easier as well i guess. In any case, you don’t need to explain or worry about what people think, it’s your channel, your life , and we are just along for the ride . Change is inevitable in all walks of life , suck it up people and deal with it 🧐🤷♂️
Btw , I’m sure you thought of this already, but try to get a vehicle with a tail lift , this would make your life a whole lot easier than mucking around with a ramp 😳🧐👍
I know of someone who picked up a Mercedes sprinter with the rear doors converted for wheelchair access, full hydraulic opening drive in lift ramp , he uses it now for his racing bike, good option 2nd hand 😏👍
KLAUSENPASS was such a nice surprice on my ride there.. One of tthe best alpine passes in the Alps and not as crowded as the other more "well known" passes..
Heerlijk om naar je filmpjes te kijken Leonoor! Complimenten over hoe je het monteert. Zwitserland is echt heel mooi.
Honestly, I don't know how we make it green. But I really saw greener in the mountains of Slovenia. For me, the Klausen is the most beautiful pass I have ride, with the Transfăgărășan in Romania. Pragel Pass is a parallel alternative to the Klausen, but the conditions for riding there are to be checked, motorcycle only during the week I think, but the Muotathal is worth the detour.
i like the way you say 'make a picture' - i think in the UK we would normally say 'take a picture' - but i like your way better and may start trying to use it myself - i think it better describes the though and process of photography (proper cameras) rather than just taking 'snaps' (smartphones etc) - anyway - great channel - keep up the good work (i did spot you at ABR this year but didnt get chance to say hi)
Again another fantastic video production!!!! I have to ask you. I’m starting out blogging and I’ve ended up at the Osmo 4 and the Dji mic 2 x2 set up …. And I’m really struggling to get good clean audio for narrating and picking up that exhaust sound. I’ve tried quite a bit suggested settings and I can’t get anywhere near the quality that I want. I cannot watch Moto videos with lots of wind noise.🤦🏻♂️ you’ve really seem to have mastered it I’m wondering, are you getting the audio that clean live? Are you having to do a lot of work in post to get the quality that you have for your audio and exhaust mix into the final product? Any insight you could share with me I’d really appreciate it. You definitely an inspiration for me for my upcoming Scandinavian and European travel😎🙏🏻😎 Cheers, Frankee Z
Hi Frankee, thnx for your comment. I have to say that, like many other motorcycle vloggers, I've been struggling a lot with getting a good clean setup in terms of audio. I use the DJI mic and the audio you hear, is straight out of the device. I know Runa (@OffSheGoesADV) has currently switched to the new Osmo and mic 2 combo, maybe she can tell you a bit more, as I don't know how different it would be to my setup with the gopros. Hope you can figure it out!
Thank you🙏🏻 I have reached out to Runa and she made some suggestions that I’ve tried also… i’m making progress little by little.!!! I’ll let you know when I solve it and I’ll share it back at you in case you end up going that route?? there’s a convenience of the wireless, but the mics are really sensitive! We really enjoy your stuff!!! hopefully, we’ll meet on the road someplace over there soon !!!! Cheers, Frankee
Hi LNR. I very enjoy your videos. I am now organising a 6 weeks round trip from Ireland to tour Switzerland. Your videos are really spurring me on for this trip. Thank You BTW, I am in need of a new helmet and with that a new com system. What do you have for the com? Can you still listen to music while talking? Is it wired or wireless? I would like to start to do some basic videos with sound for memories sake, and maybe for YT too if my editing skills improve of course. Than You again so much for your nice videos

Riding through the beautiful mountains with nothing but a playlist absolute time of your life ❤❤❤
Great spot on the Klausen with that folding bench.
My absolute favorite bench in Swiss

Thanks for the nice pictures of my former home-country.

bEAUTIFUL AMAZING SCENERY! and lovely smooth roads for riding on. Hope to make it there some day! 🙂 great videos!
I have done the same pass last years. Good memories to see this video ! Nice videos :)
Glad you enjoyed it, it’s an amazing area for sure
What an epic adventure, and such amazing roads and scenery. It must take real discipline to resist the urge to get caught up in it all.
If I didn’t have a slight timeframe for myself (which I do need to have for other jobs) I think I could easily spent a few days on each pass 😆
KLAUSENPASS was such a nice surprice on my ride there.. One of tthe best alpine passes in the Alps and not as crowded as the other more "well known" passes..
Totally agree, I wanted to ride it for many times but always had such bad weather. Sept 22 I just went up but the next morning was way better
