I love the history tour of this island. Saw part 1 and this. I never knew we had Italian POWs here! I wish the cottages could have been preserved. It’s beautiful during the fall. This is definitely going to go on my list of places to visit and explore. Thank you Tom
Thank you for noticing... I did a little research on it... Turns out Boston Harbor is one of only three places in the world that have a drumlin field in the ocean... I lived in the shower pretty much on my wife and never heard about it which is a shame but I hope that my channel will add to some of the knowledge of the area... In fact I'm working on two videos, one which deals with actual pirates in Boston Harbor and the other where Operation paperclip involved Boston Harbor as well... Fascinating stuff if you're into history!
What a grand adventure. I love exploring places like that and kayaking there is the cherry on top. Such a cool place. I'd love to win the lottery and hide out there and think, research, and communicate with people on where I should invest my money to make more money out of the deal. 🤩 However, I need a hide out with internet connection because I have 3 grand kids.
Thank you for watching! It is a wonderful place and I have videos of some of our other harbor islands and am trying to visit each and every one so stayed tuned!
That could be, it certainly is old enough to coincide with that time frame… thank you for watching and, if you like this content, I sure would love another subscriber!
The cottages were (and some still are) owned by families going back 100 years or more...the Italian POWs were housed in barracks on the other side of the island
Not a soul...kind of eerie walking around this little 'village' with no one around...I'm hoping to get back out there in the summer and meet some of the residents. I think there's a video in that in the future. Thank you for watching and don't forget to subscribe if you haven't already!
I thought that was a Federal thing but don't know the specifics. You're right, it's a shame. I'm going to try to visit next year in the summer and talk to the people there...I think that might be a great video...Thank you for watching and please consider subscribing if you haven't already!
I think this is your best video yet love the map and picture at the end
Thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it!
I like how you explained the landscape and how it turned into one island!

@@travelswithtom9921 I’ll be keeping my eyes out for these next two videos!
Those cottages were so cool!
They really were! I'm going to get out there next summer and see I can meet some of the people that own them

The Italian POW cottages specifically, the ones gone

Great video, it's a shame about the cottages. I won't get into the politics but it happened under Deval Patrict !!!
