Song: “Ghosts of the Rail” By Gabriel Lewis
Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"! - Розваги
The ending 2 1/2 minute music video at Big Ten Curve has to be amoung your best--both scenery and music!!!
Loved the music at the end the rhythm awakened my roots it was like I always knew that music, Choctaw, God bless you.
A perfect grab bag with beautiful outro scenes and music👍👍👍
Can honestly say I have Never seen an All Center-Beam train on the Railroad. 👍🙏
We get them through Marysville CA on the UP fairly often
I wonder what they were going to haul--it must have been a big load of something-or-other.
Wow! Excellent catching all the in multiple locations, especially 2 Ferromex locomotives in Wichita, Kansas, Heritage Units, military train, railgrinder in La Plata, Missouri, and so much more, I like them, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much.
7:03 I've actually been on one of those trains (the ones that have already been delivered to VIA Rail BTW), and they were sleek, and comfortable.
Nice big 10
Curve shots❤
I like that old school car.
Love these interesting things on these freight trains
Watch at La Plata, Mo as each section of the Loran Grinder stops grinding before the 32' wide walkway to M2 and starts up again on the other side. The smaller unit that does switches and level crossing will grind it at a later time.
Ooh, the La Plata cam let us hear the LORAM grinder working, which I've never been able to do before--very cool! The meet at Altoona was beautiful, but the mix at the end was *incredible* and I can only imagine how much work it took. Terrific!!
Well the aooga horn was close enough 😊
glad to see the fixed cam at Roanoke is back!
I recognize that Amtrak cascades with the BNSF leader, I was on it lol
This is another awesome episode of trains in action
going down the tracks and other fantastic train related
action across the country thank you VR Railfan.🇺🇲🤠🇨🇦

1:02 AAOOOOGAH!
Digital impressionist watercolor waterfalls of South Cumberland?😮
I stared at those centerbeams too long!🤪
18:10 Old ford pick up truck. Reminds me of the one my grandfather had. Miss him and the truck so much.
10:48 You get a train that doesn't block the view. BNSF can be centerbeam-ing with pride.
UNION CENTRAL
BUILDING CANADA 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥
*Nice Catches*
12:19 a pair of rare 4700-series Dash-9s! Good catch!
Very Fantastic videos
3:47, NS AC44C6M 4777! Now that's brand new!
Under 30 min gang? (LOVE THESE VIDEOS)
Good catch on that BNSF Heritage 1 paint scheme! (That was the last paint scheme used by BN just prior to the merger.) That musical montage at the end was a nice touch. 🙂👍
I found that tune on Shazam. Gonna put it on my Alexa Bluegrass and Railroad playlists over there.
Love those older pick up trucks.
11:48 I have never seen that many centerbeam flats on one train, loaded OR empty, not to mention a whole train of them!
0:20 flatcars carrying switch sections. They're too wide to transport flat
0:54 caboose right behind the NS loco
1:10 Elkhart sees quite a bit of foregin power
1:50 three H2 dash 9s and a CP heritage unit (again at 16:38)
2:54 private cars over Horseshoe Curve
3:44 NS 4777 was recently overhauled into an AC44C6M
4:32 Tropicana Juice Train on an intermodal.
5:00 I've never seen one of these KT hoppers before
5:16 BNSF H2 dash 9 towing a Cascades service of a P42 and horizon cars (again at 8:01)
6:08 I've also never seen this Comet Rice hopper livery. This one is now owned by Wells Fargo.
6:56 CSX 4568
7:03 new VIA Rail train being towed by a UP SD70M
7:31 South Kansas & Oklahoma light power. Lead unit is still in the old yellow livery and the other is still in UP livery
8:22 8-unit lash-up with a variety of BNSF orange locos
8:36 solo leader, containers, autoracks, mixed freight, autorack without side screens, more mixed freight including loaded centerbeams, and a solo rear DPU
9:16 I've never seen flatbeds like these
10:47 a whole train of empty centerbeams! They are extremely light compared to other rolling stock and could derail easily if the crew isn't careful
13:00 NS 6963, the GoRail unit, and 6912. Both are SD60Es
13:35 CSX 1776 leading
14:10 CN leader and two Ferromex units trailing in Wichita!
14:50 all H2 triple-header
16:18 D&H hopper
16:56 Loram working in La Plata. Sparks are thrown beyond the yellow line
18:54 SP&S heritage hopper
20:46 Phase VII P42 174 leading the California Zpehyr through the snow as it ascends into the Rocky mountains.
Seen two Grab Bags in one day! This must be a record! The best footage I have ever seen on the Altoona curve?? Great to see Skykomish again; what an acoustic! Freight engines helping passenger trains; freight trains following each other, especially at Wichita (keep looking out for the linesman that Glen Campbell used to sing about); the train with the lights at La Plata plus a freight passed by an errant Wacky racer (!!!!) and the finale WHEN WE ACTUALLY SAW TRAINS ON THE BIG 10!!! And lots of happy faces and waves, especially at Tuscon (where JoJo the hero of "Get Back" used to live 🤣🤣🤣🤣
*(where JoJo the hero of "Get Back" used to live 🤣🤣🤣🤣)
Lot's of center beam cars on BNSF in Skycomish dropping the signal, NS EMD SD60 I think 🤔 on the GORAIL unit, nice DPU lash up with CP HU, more great Loram rail grinder action, nice shots in Arvada!🛤🚂
Happy st patricking
1:07 I could've sworn I saw Bonnie & Clyde in that Model T (or whatever it was)!
7:43 Nice catch with those GP30s and the Nathan Air Chime. 👍
Those were actually GP35s, the GP30 has the rounded cab roofline with an unusual dynamic brake fairing.
Pretty sure that VIA consist was the one that went past my house after it was handed off to CN. CN tracks run right behind my house. Consist was headed to Detroit.
Was that VIA coming from the builder's shops?
Indeed! I saw it in Flint Michigan, The UP sadly cannot lead into Canada so the power was tied down in port Huron, And the UP was switched out with a CN locomotive.
@@Eastmichiganfilms I'm in South Bend, In.
@@jjaagg5050 Nice!
The rest of the deliveries are heading to the Toronto TMC ( Via's yard in Toronto)
Nice mix as always!
5:19 !
Ive been watching for a while but just joined VRF a couple of weeks ago. One of these clips reminded me of being in Memphis, TN yesterday. I live 60 miles east of there. By accident I had the opportunity to watch a 2 mile long BNSF all JB Hunt intermodal. It was a sight to see. Then there was a huge double stack CSX that I watched that took almost 20 minutes to clear the crossing. It was that long. Which brings me to ask had VRF considered a camera in Memphis. It has a lot of rail traffic and with the new Blue Oval (Ford) factory about to open, that’s going to be an even busier rail traffic area.
Great garb bags as always keep up the good work
Was that "garb" or "grab?" Either way probably works just as well. Maybe it was a "garb grab?" 😁
Thanks, Ya'll Great video.
Im so pride than my 1st name is Patrick
I wish to everyone's of You an happy sunday ""St Patrick Day"

7:05 in Quebec, I see these via rail trains every day
I saw one of those UP/VIA trains going through East Lansing MI a few weeks ago. Pulled by the worst UP locomotive I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I got my camera up late and only got the back half of the train.
hello Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is cool & Thanks & Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy
Wish you had the words to the song 🎵 😪
2:49 konbawassu
Kinako sakurakoji
1:06 that's not a train horn 😁
Has anyone seen a video that has Amtrak 43 glitching in the matrix?
Gosh VR, I don't know that you should be speeding up those trains like you do. You might give the crews a heart attack. Not to mention screwing up the line's time-tables. 😁
In all seriousness, I do enjoy these vids. Thanks.
Doesnt Elkhart, IN get foreign power all the time? I go up there sometimes and see BNSF, UP, CP and other railroads using those tracks. Whats special about a UP locomotive being there?
02:35 the conductor on the Pennsylvanian doesn't open the train door and wave anymore?
WW3 coming with the tanks
What were the special cars at 9:22 for ?
At 6:34, Good thing I read the caption, I’m recovering from surgery and I’m taking pain meds. When I saw the multi colored picture I thought someone had put something new in my meds. Got excited for a second and thought I might see a dinosaur walking around. 😂😂😂😂😂
I hope you feel better soon!
I stealed that train
Would have liked to have seen the rest of that lady's moves at 06:24 ... !
Me at 9:40
Please add chapters or sections so people that want to skip the random bs and get to the stuff actually being advertised for the video don’t have to waste time
maybe they’ll let you volunteer without pay since you’re so passionate about it 😎
My suggestions for improving VR: 1. Eliminate all shots of wildlife, people waving at the camera, music videos, weather phenomena, rockets, airplanes, antique automobiles, Amtrak trains (they all look the same). Class 1 railroad locomotives (they all look the same, even the heritage engines are boring after seeing them dozens of times), work trains, and private passenger cars.
2. Replace #1 with short line and regional railroad engines/trains and showing entire freight trains not speeded up because freight cars are much more interesting.
I will retreat to my bunker and prepare to be excoriated by all the fans who think VR is perfect just the way it is.
Okay; how many cameras are you planning on setting up and maintaining?
There is still time to delete your post.
In other words, take out many of the things that a lot of us love about the videos...I'm not big on excoriation of any sort, so I'll just wish you a nice day and hope that you find a channel that has what you're looking for--and that Joe and Mike and the gang keep this one (wait for it!) just the way it is. 💖
No likes for your comment isn't surprising. It's too bad UA-cam went pc and no longer shows dislikes.
I take great pride in showing the trains, and the world around them. People come to our cam locations to see the things you dislike. May I suggest Streamtime Live, where they show you boats, and how boats move thru our lakes, & rivers.
