I just realized that you had a signal path in your video and documentation. The loop connection is inserted in the signal chain to the GR-55. ...yes? ...and it is looking for a single 1/4" connection which becomes both the in & out. It is not like on an amp where there is a 1/4" in and 1/4" out for an effects loop. ...yes? How does this affect or change the way I utilize my UX-20?
This thing does exactly what it says on the tin. I've had a GR55 for three years and just gave up trying to adapt my technique to eliminate the ghost notes on piano like settings. Plugged into one of these and the sounds almost 100% clean - just have to avoid hammer ons.
Hello there. I might have a question . I 'm so glad you cevaplandırısa . I was Mısın Roland GR- 55 exit M- Audio axiom61 model I'm trying to establish a connection with midi keyboard. can you help me. Thank you
Hi Wayne. I can't find your e-mail contact info anywhere on your site and when I press the Contact US link it sends Firefox into an endless loop of creating mailto: windows. I am very interested in acquiring your filter/buffer device. Please let me know the price and availability. Thanks.
Hello Wayne, I didn't fully understand the master effects loop connection. You inserted a master volume pedal which seemed to be in the chain in between the guitars and the Gr-55. (yes?) In thinking about it, it seemed that the master effects loop really sent the guitar inputs off independently to other devices & not into the GR-55. So the inputs simultaneously were going in to paths (1. the GR-55 and 2. out of the mater loop connection to wherever (effects pedals & then to an amp). yes/no?
@@WayneJoness Yes thanks Because it will help me enormously I have just bought the Gr-55 and as you know it is not perfect. I want to make your tool. I am an electro antousiames I do not know everything but resourceful. Thank you in advance for your help and especially to see that you are still on the internet to interact with me. I am waiting for your news I cross my fingers with the PCB. Thank you have a nice day :) Merci Québec Canada.
@@WayneJoness I assume it would work with the GR-20 because it is inline, meaning it should clean the signal before it even hits the GR-20. Is that correct? Trying to find one to test with.
@waynejoness - this is a fantastic product and it's shame it is no longer produced. Thanks a lot for your generosity to share the diagram with the world! Is anyone using this subsonic filter with Roland gr-33 to share experience, please? I just got it built from the scheme on the site, but noticed significant drop in the signal (sensitivity of pickup dropped a lot, and now I need to pick quite hard in order synth to register string signal) - all strings sensitivity is now set to 8. Using original roland cables (brand new) with Godin grand concert SA. Thanks a lot in advance for feedback and suggestions.
Wow, nice one Wayne! When I communicated with you via email a while ago now, I got the impression this project was a goner, but with the diagram, I can build one. Thanks!
David Franks I hope to build one, but it is finding the time, but when I do, I'll make the PCB layout available. The parts list is something that you can source from the diagram. I'll be building mine so that it goes inside the GR-55 box, rather than as a separate unit. Why the hell Roland didn't do this is anyone's guess. Rather than wait for me, someone at VGuitar forums is bound to do it...
That would be great if you could make the PCB available. I would like to build one that goes inside of my GR-55 as well. Which op amp would be used for the 4 quad op-amps? I did not see anywhere was it was stated. Thanks!
David Franks If you look on the CCT diag, it is a TL084. That's a quad op amp, so when you see triangles like that, every four of them equals one IC (usually). Like I said, I'm busy, but you can obtain a ton of circuit and PCB software online now for free. Make that circuit and then produce a PCB from it - ABC simple. Back when I did it, we used crepe tapes on stable film cut with a scalpel, then reduced it and made it positive in a darkroom - you've got it easy! ;-))
Thanx ! Great invention, for my and others' GR55. But why must you have that idiot music while your explaining and teaching us`? And you're not the only one. It's as if a neighbour is trying to disturb you.
Just wanted to say thanks for keeping this information available online. Very thoughtful. Cheers!
Thanks! I am glad this was helpful!
I'm always so amused by your videos. Very inspiring.

Where did you get one of these? I really want one but don't know where to get one. I think this works better than RMC OPT 1
Hi!!! I have a GR 55 with an OPT-01 installed can I still use this on top for better results or is this pointless?
I think you are good, this would not be needed.

How much is this? I can't find a price on the website you have the link for.
does this eliminate ghost notes?

Would this benefit the gk5
I do not see how this would help with the gk5, there is no analog connection for the Filter Buffer
You dont have the pcb layout please :)
I will try to work on that! Thanks for asking!

Can it be used for gr20?
i have never tried it with the GR-20, I am not sure how it would change the response of the GR-20.

Where I can find it? Someone have it and want to sell it?
Once in a while you can find a unit for sale on ebay.

Cool, right?
You can build your own Filter/Buffer, the schematic is posted on my website: www.joness.com/gr300/Filter-Buffer.htm

Yeah...I would probably mix it a little lower if done again. I tend to monitor at low listening levels, which makes the dialog louder.
is this filter also combable for roland gi 20?
