Another unboxing...I bought a rather large ASTROPHYTUM Cactus ON SALE!
It was part of the 'odd shelf' where plants are sold for a reduced price for various reason, so what a bargain...so watch my short unboxing which includes quick clips at end of video of me repotting both cactus plants....

Wow that’s a beautiful huge astro 🤩🤩🤩 the scars doesn’t bother me. Another beautiful addition to your astro collection. Dorota is so generous always including free plant.
Its a whopper of an Astrophytum its broad and stocky and such amazing mass of roots, I wonder how old it could be, it definitely looks hard grown and not grafted.
Dorota is very kind hearted with free plants etc.

It’s admirable of you, Claire, for getting plants that you know have blemishes on them pre-purchase. A lot of collectors would be turned off with even the smallest mark. I agree with you. @@CactusCove oh i’m sure it will grow well under your loving care. I love Astrophytums too, in fact, i think they are my top 1 fave so I have quite a bit of them in my collection. The Japanese have awesome hybrids and I am crazy about them. 😆 Yes, i remember the other Astrophytum. Glad it’s doing well but then again plants under your care will do well, no doubt. 🥰

Totally agree, life and what's in our lives is never ever really perfect and if you ever have the opportunity to see cactus plants in their natural habitat, alot of them are scarred and weather beaten and ravaged from exposure and they exude beauty! I love the character it gives them, I have a few that have been through the wars 🤣🌵🌞🌵🌞🌵👍
@@CactusCove I have always been proud of my scars....but I was a tomboy all my life....the other girls played with dolls and makeup....I was fishing and hunting with my mom and dad. Scars were for bragging stories when we would get together with cousins and friends. No wonder I was never the cool kid at school but hey I know I got a good heart and a kind soul! Hey that's what's important the most😉😉😉
Great plants from Dorota, I like her little notes:) I've bought this lobivia as well and it has beautiful flowers.
Hi Magda 👋 The notes give it a nice personal touch...wow you have this Lobivia too, I love the hazy colouration of its epidermis, looking forward to see if the flower bud gets bigger to see the yellowish flower, its a bit nicer weather today so hopefully this boosts our cactus plants, especially the rise in temperature for me makes a difference as you know my cactus are indoors.

Nice plants Claire!! That astro is a nice big boofy one!!! Both look very healthy!! The astro will grow out of the scars. I've noticed as cactus age the scars are pushed downward over time. Absolutely Clyde, its a broad stout stock Astrophytum! 🤣🤣👍 Indeed its scars will move slowly down...😂 im sure I will look a lot older compared to this Astrophytum by the time the scarring grows out 🤭 the Lobivia has a hazy colour to its skin, which is nice. This Astrophytum cost £10.00 because it was on sale in the 'odd shelf' section.
Its reason for reduction in price (from £15.99 down to the £10.00) was because it had surface marks on cactus skin.
The 'odd shelf' section lists various plants at reduced prices.
There was only 1 item on sale at the time of my purchase.
Postage cost me £5.00.
