When I was much younger I “found” that bird shot, at very close range with a full choke will leave a large entrance wound that is unrecognizably from a single large projectile. Though there would be no exit wound on small year round game like rabbits. You guys should do a 12 gauge choke gel test. That would be super awesome.
Does barrel length affect the choke? Do you need a 26" or better barrel? Reasoning is your original wagon trains were usually using a "Coach gun". Thoughts? I understand that these were usually BP so....
All my shotguns have a full or magnum choke because where I be hunting on my property sometimes the targets get out there so far that I actually have to use something as a violently type pattern like my Stevens 320 12 gauge pump 3inch mag and my Ithaca mag 10 gauge Magnum 3 1/2 inch mag and to be honest I'm 21 years old and they don't kick that hard
